I Just filled up my car for the first time with the rb26 in and only got 235 kms out of the tank!! i was shocked my fuel consumption halfed from the rb20. Im still running it in so i wasnt thrashing it. Im running a microtech ecu, is something wrong? do i need to retune or is this the reality of an rb26 running 310 rwhp ?

Yeah i knew buying a GTR would be cheaper mate, i weighed all that up before the conversion. I did up my own car coz it was just what i wanted to do. Your mates car must absolutely fly!

No they are custom twin turbo manifolds so they fit the gtr turbos but match up to the rb25. It came with 32 gtr turbos.

Trying to sell it mate. I think the TT manifold and turbos are gone but i still have the rb25 and the rb20

i did origanally by a rb25 with a twin turbomanifold setup sleekman. and i did think of a few of the combinations you mentioned but my mechanic just had this rb26 sittin there all ready to go so it was just too tempting. Peter Grey In Gidgegannup did it for me. Top skyline mechanic. He used to race them and knows them back to front, inside out. whats your real name? how do ya know my bro?

HAHA thx Lauren he bought a car. Ended up buying off someone from here, i cant remember who though. Its a white SII done 80,000 km, nearly dead stock besides bigger front lip and 17's. he paid $16500. Its very tidy.

Yup, deffinately smokin some good stuff! haha Car Is amazing to drive now, i cant believe how much more torque the 26 has. even off boost it is different car. So far the 20 gearbox feels good. The redline oil got rid of all the little crunches. My only issue at the moment is the fine tuning of the microtech. Its been running mega rich and using a bucket of fuel. Cold starts where a bitch but that seems to have been fixed now. Im thinking i made a mistake going for a microtech over a power FC D-jetro. But you live and learn. Cant wait for some dry weather to really be able to try it out. at the moment i cant even hit boost in 3rd if the roads are wet! remix your car looks sweet. what ecu are you using? How many kms to a tank are you gettin?

yeah thats some good info, but my question can u make more power by just changing cams? or are they only good when coupled with other mods?

sorry if im stealin thread, but what difference does just changing cam and cam gears do to a rb26 ?

The last job wayne did for us. Not sure if thats any help as you want advertising but they do all that stuff too. He is pretty cheap. This job was less than 300 our price

Yeah i have never done it with a big group but its a great drive.

I reckon it looks really good, but im a bit of a fan of the loud look. Subtle seems to be the in thing at the moment, but individuality is what modifying is about so if you like it, do it.

I wasnt saying the 20 gearbox is as good as the one for 25. I meant that neither are invincible with that sort of HP so may as well use the 20 box coz they are so cheap to buy.

Im using the rb20 gearbox runinng 230rwkw. only drivin it for one weekend but it feels fine so far. IMO its not worth putting the 25 box in coz they still break an the rb20 box is as cheap as chips to replace. Just use the best gear oil you can find.
