ooo, vettel made a mistake. better keep him away from any sharp objects after the race
-
this is shaping up to be a F1 D1 race, LOL
-
webber down the back straight was out of control. rear end was shaking like anything. obviously got on the gas early, plus being out on the white line
-
how about that slide on the out lap by one of the fezzas? was lucky to catch it. should be an interesting race. being wet you can almost garantee hamilton will take someone out. hopefully it will be vettel on the first corner.

in all honesty though, if someone buys (or doesn't buy) a game purely based off sound then that's a bit on the stupid side. on complaining about what gt5 is like, i knew what gt5 was going to be like before it even came out. it was going to be like all the others but with new stuff, which is what i wanted. the same could probably be said about forza as well. how many forza fans would be happy if the new one was completely redesigned with a more arcade style handling so it was like playing one of the old need for speed games? i'm guessing that none of the diehard forza fans would be happy. any series of games keeps its fans happy by not changing too much.

ok. so it sounds like most of the issue is with the tyres. as people have said, get some stock rims (or 300zx rims as they are wider so you can fit wider tyres on them) and get some decent tyres for them. even have a look around for some used semi slicks.

sounds like the coils are shagged (especially if you are seeing sparks). it may be that you damaged something when you changed the plugs, or that they were just on the way out and you removing them was enough to put them over the edge. you could try and help the problem by wrapping the lower section of the coil with electrical tape, but it may not help. i'd say new coils are the answer.

Top Speed Record On A Modified Gtr?
mad082 replied to GTRAAH's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
maybe they were going to use a 4 speed gearbox with super tall diff ratios, lol had a guy tell me once that he went for a drive in a commodore where they owner said he had put a chip in it where it would do 180kmh in second gear at 2000rpm just by pressing a button........... -
brumby's go well with a wrx engine conversion

what mods were changed to get you the extra 20kw? was a dyno run done immediately before the mods to see what the real gain was, rather than comparing an old graph to a new graph? and have you overlaid the 2 graphs to see if you are down on power through the mid range at all? maybe put it on a dyno at a different workshop and see what power it makes there. may possibly show that your 215kw isn't quite accurate.

you also have to remember that you are not in a serious section of the forum. had you posted in the tech section asking for help i would've been more than happy to help, unless you had asked a question that gets asked every 2 days, in which case i, and many others would've simply told you to use the search function. in time you too will become one of those people too, as you will start to find out just how much some questions get asked and you very quickly get sick of seeing them posted.

and what exactly did you expect to happen? were you expecting to get given the cars, already modded and then race them round like boats? i can garantee you that if you found that aspect of gt5 boring then you will find the next installment of forza boring as it will simply be a jazzed up version of the previous one. as for the sounds, maybe you need to get a better surround sound system as well as use the rear view of the car. sure they aren't 100% spot on, but they are a lot better than the previous versions and many are true to life for the situation they are in. i'm sure plenty of you would be disapointed by the sound of a stock skyline on the game reving up near the rev limit, however i'm sure most of you would also be disapointed by the sound of a stock skyline reving up near the limiter in real life as it wouldn't have the same growl as what most of us are used to, having aftermarket exhausts. the same goes for US muscle cars. many of them sound terrible with their stock exhausts.

wow, did someone pull your tampon out? i was simply making a sarcastic remark about your poor typing and yet you take it to heart. if you haven't committed suicide yet out of grief, i apologise for you not having a sense of humour.

yeah that is just the factory optioned leaking rocker cover seals. easy fix. you will also find that on a lot of r33s they also chose the optional leaking power steering resevoir as well.

i'm thinking he may actually get away ok this time. he will wheelspin it for the first few metres (instead of bogging it down) until he gets onto the clean strips left by the car in front of him taking off. and then get going well. ah who am i kidding. he'll be down the back by the first corner

Diy Carbon Fiber Body Parts
mad082 replied to sikmatesubwoofa's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
funny thing with carbon fibre is that it doesn't actually look like what you see. that is just a cosmetic weave that is generally used for the top layer. the majority of carbon fibre is just matt black. -
I thought he was only about 0.7 off the pace...

i'm now in the shit because the missus picked up the remote, started changing channels and then said "you weren't watching that were you?" i replied with "apparently not. i'll just watch it on the internet" and she goes and gets all stroppy, yet when she's watching a show i can't even talk, let alone pick up the remote. but now she's rolled over and is pretending to go to sleep, but when i finally turn off the tv i will be expected to roll over and give her a cuddle because i'm somehow the baddy. she will be waiting for a while...

something wrong with the back of vettels car. maybe he threw a tantrum and punched it, lol

Top Speed Record On A Modified Gtr?
mad082 replied to GTRAAH's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
that is only a drag race. can garantee that once they were above about 300kmh the veyron would claw the gtr back like it was standing still. as people have said, the main thing limiting it would be the aero package. this is the reason why lower power cars won't ever hit redline in top gear. they don't have enough power to overcome the drag. oh and i think the record for a commodore is something like 404kmh on the salt flats set back in 2002 (or there abouts). -
it seems as though it's a bit of a mine field. the things they say they contain and why they are good are probably true, it's just that a lot of the other crap they use as fillers aren't so good.

R33 Series 1 And 2 Block Interchangeable?
mad082 replied to Touge Kyousou's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
should be the same. as far as i know it's only a few of the bolt on electrics that are different. -
Diy Carbon Fiber Body Parts

you make them yourself. if you know what you are doing then it isn't hard. as for carbon panels, well they are illegal for road use so there isn't a huge market for them. as for why there aren't more people doing it, it isn't as profitable as you think. by the time you take into account materials and labour time, it is more expensive than fibreglass. fibreglass runs out at under $10 per metre, while carbon cloth is up around $100 per metre, so you could probably make a fibreglass item, including labour cost for just the cost of the materials of a carbon item. -
the answer to this varies. for starters, how much you can run and how much you should run are 2 different things. what mods does the car have? does it have an after market exhaust? does it have an aftermarket intercooler? if yes to both then anything up to about 12psi is fine, although the ecu may start to throw a tantrum around 12psi. if no to the intercooler but yes to the exhaust then keep it to about 10psi. if stock exhaust then don't bother at all, just do the high mode boost mod to make it run 7psi all the time rather than the stock 5psi below 4500rpm and 7psi above 4500rpm. also engine failing isn't an issue. the turbo failing on the other hand is the issue. the stock turbo runs a ceramic exhaust wheel and this gets weakened by excess heat (which is why i said not to raise the boost on a stock exhaust, as the restrictive exhaust causes the turbo to run hotter). generally 12psi is considered the upper level of what is safe. some people will tell you that the turbo won't make any more power beyond 12psi but this is false. it will still increase in power up past 16psi, but it would be a ticking time bomb. also the stock ecu won't let you run much past 12 or 13psi before it goes into excess airflow protection mode (more commonly known as rich and retard, as it richens up the mixture and retards the timing).

quick question, do you close your eyes when you type?
