Congratulations Nissan Motorsport
mad082 replied to Duncan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Yeah the traces didn't show much, but they were both from quali laps, which doesn't show as much of the story as the race data. But if the economy was better then they could've gotten gains from running less fuel at the start of the lap. -
Then wouldn't it make sense to address those issues rather than just looking for a bandaid fix to try and sleep better? Not trying to be rude, but it just doesn't make sense.
-
Were you taking all of those before you had trouble sleeping?
-
Maybe check your intake pipe. It may have come a bit loose and going round left hand turns is closing a gap that has opened up.
-
Wasn't just the same one at 3 different points in time? Lol. There's a delorean that gets around gympie too

Yesterday the nissans on the new fuel smashed qualifying. Today they are back to their usual mid pack results and the Kelly boys were comparable on times. Maybe there was something in the claims of performance from the new fuel. Have to wait and see how they go in the race. But I certainly find it a bit suss.... -

Yeah they are trying to get better economy or they will have no hope in the enduros unless there is constant safety cars. They are going to struggle at Phillip island, sanddown and Bathurst (especially Bathurst) as it is because of their straight line speed -

And the nissan's aero package is slightly better than the ford/gm package (to help make up for their slight deficit in power), so on the Winton track where it's not so much about power, then they have an advantage. So the parity isn't quite equal yet -

The engine regulations for the nissans (and maybe the mercs as well, not sure) changed for this weekend. that's why they suddenly got the performance gain. I wouldn't be surprised if they tweak the regulations again after this weekend. If they dominate again tomorrow then I'm pretty sure they will. I just find it funny that the kelly bros are getting beating by the employees, lol -
If you get the vin number you may be able to use that to find out if the car was stolen
-
If they are the original coils at 140kms then they will probably be getting a bit weak. And yes, you can just drop the gap by 0.1mm increments until it doesn't miss
-
If you can run the 1.1mm gap without it missing then do it. The bigger gap the better. People only reduce the gap when they are running large boost or have old, weak coils that can't provide a strong enough spark

Wide Wheels Scrubbing On Coilovers
mad082 replied to s4rl's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Is it the rim or tyre that is scrubbing? If it's just the tyre then look at getting a slightly skinnier tyre -
They moved to a bigger location (about 200m up the road) last year.

R33 S1 Rb25Det Serious Problems :/
mad082 replied to roosterwfyu's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Get a timing light and find out exactly what the timing is at. If advancing the timing is making it run better then you may simply be masking the problem, not solving it. checking the timing with a timing light will rule out whether you need to change the cas (but I doubt it will have much to do with it). there are only a few things that can make it run rich. Just how rich was it running? What sort of afr's? The main things that can cause running rich are fuel pressure, injectors (wrong size for ecu settings or damaged/leaking), afm, intake leaks, temp sensor, tps or ecu (tune or faulty sensor not mentioned above, which isn't many) -
My arm movement was slowly increasing. Everyday I was able to move my arm higher than the day before. As it is now I can get my arm to about 45 degrees (after I hurt it again on Saturday it hurt the moment I tried to move it in abduction. The pain I get when I try to move it was shooting down my arm from my shoulder to my elbow. I'm guessing that's why the doctor was looking at my bicep. Now the pain is more around the outside of my shoulder (which is why I'm thinking deltoid). I was also under the impression that the deltoid was more responsible for lifting the arm through the majority of the arc up to horizontal, other than the initial movement which is the surp. I do also have a small amount of inflammation and tenderness around the base of my shoulder blade. This was there from the initial crash, and didn't change when I aggravated the injury on Saturday (in fact it may have sped up the recovery). It was causing me all sorts of grief as it was pretty painful to start with which made sleeping uncomfortable as it hurt to lay on my back, either side or stomach.
-
No they didn't. I'm actually thinking it's more deltoid than bicep or suraspinatus, but there is definitely something going on with my bicep as well.

I see 2 33's at the old Bunnings building in noosa most days.

Plenty of people closer than Perth have a consult interface. Plenty of mechanics have them. Maybe you should try ringing a few mobile mechanics and asking them. Or if you have a laptop then buy yourself a consult cable. I bought mine from ecutalk (website) a few years back

I didn't get to keep my old one. It stayed down at wherever mine got sent to for assessment

So an update on my injury. It was getting much better. Could lift my arm out sideways up till it was about level with my shoulder. Then at work yesterday I felt something pop in my shoulder and all the pain was back and I couldn't move move my arm out sideways at all. Went to the hospital after work. Got xrays done (this was the first time getting medical attention on the injury since I crashed, other than the ambos giving me a quick check over). Nothing out of place in the xrays. Then the doctor checked me out and thinks I have a partial tear/separation in the outer of the 2 bicep muscles. So I have to not use my arm for a week (which is hard when you have a job that is somewhat physical)
-
I ran out of talent, lol. I hesitated on a jump, landed funny and did a bit of a superman impression before landing on my head/shoulderSlept better than I expected, but still pretty crap.
-
Busted my shoulder in a mtb crash this morning. Think it's only soft tissue. Ambos checked me out and found no broken bones. Bloody sore though. it doesn't hurt to touch, just hurts if I move my arm (if I move my arm with my other arm it is kind of ok, but if I try to move it by itself it kills). Going to be a crappy nights sleep tonight.

On the plus side, it will reduce the number of threads asking about pulling the turbo off a gtst and driving it around natro......
