Only time I had an issue with accuracy was in amongst the high rises in the middle of the city where it lagged a little bit and would tell me to turn as I was driving past the street it wanted me to turn into. Cost me about $150 about 4 years ago and it was before the lifetime updates offer by a year or 2. Haven't ever done an update of the map as I'd have to pay.

Not worth it.

I've got a base model Garmin that I've had for a few years now. It's been good.

Ok, so my ps3 has been playing up a bit lately and it keeps coming up saying data is corrupted and has to restore. kind of getting over having to do it every few weeks so I'm thinking I'll just get a new hard drive. I reformatted it a while back but it was still not right afterwards. so what I would like help with is choosing a new drive, and where to get them from for a decent price. I currently have a 250gb in there and I have plenty of room left on it. I don't have many games that I play so I still have plenty of room on it, so size doesn't really matter. price matters more

spotted a black 33 gtr v-spec parked in Mary st in gympie just before. when I say gtr I mean one of those ones without the flared rear guards, and with the s2 gts/gtst rear wing..... But it had the gtr badge and v-spec sticker.......

Yeah sounds like a turbo timer or possibly immobilizer issue. But the question has to be asked, why are you letting the car idle for 5 mins? If it was sitting in traffic I could understand, but if it's to warm the car up, don't. There is no point letting the car idle to warm up. It just wastes fuel. Start it, let it idle for a couple of seconds, then just drive sensibly until it comes up to temp.

Yeah great showing from dan. Solid drive from webber. Let's just hope he can get it off the line......

R34 Non Turbo Ignition Problem/engine Splutter Need Help Please
mad082 replied to IMPORTS ONLY's topic in General Maintenance
In a NA they last pretty long. I changed the copper plugs in my Commodore after about 50,000kms only because I was chasing a misfire (which new plugs didn't fix). -
I like your thinking. Guys with turbos should remove the exhaust wheel to reduce the restriction in the exhaust to gain some power.

You will need a new ecu (or a nistune). The stock ecu will not handle much above 200kw before it starts to kill the fun. Injectors will probably be very close to maxing out, if not maxed out. And you'll need a front mount intercooler. And the rb25 wasn't detuned for our roads. They get imported and are just the way they were when they were being driven on the roads in Japan (other than being put back to stock for compliance)

played everyday at lunch during year 7 if that counts, lol. and had a hoop in my backyard as well. lived to far out of town as a kid to play outside of school hours. wish I could've though, and then lost interest in highschool when we didn't have a court. best shot I pulled off was with a mini basket ball (the ones about half size) from the other end of the court. Did it on multiple occasions

Koenigsegg Ccx Crashes Into Crowd At Rally In Poland
mad082 replied to mxfly's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Why restrict it to rich people in expensive cars? Plenty of people lose control of normal cars when doing something stupid, they just aren't doing with big crowd around recording it. But there are plenty of instances where there is someone recording it. YouTube has plenty of videos of people losing it. -
Yeah far from new. I know people who had things hanging off their tow hooks 4 or 5 years ago now. It's still stupid though. It's the equivalent of having a cock ring imho
-
I think it's stupid to form any opinion on it considering that the demo only has 2 cars and 1 track on it.

Need Help With My Gts-Tr32
mad082 replied to miss GTS-T r32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Unplug the coils 1 at a time and see what happens. Each time you unplug 1 it should run worse. If you unplug 1 and it doesn't change much then that is where the issue lies. It will either be a coil, plug our injector. If that doesn't reveal a problem cylinder, then check the intake pipes (after the afm) for a leak. There is also the possibility of the afm being the issue -
It's funny how many customers seen to think that hourly rates = wages in pocket. But shopping round for quotes doesn't always mean you are getting the best deal. Lowest price yes, best deal no. The lower price may come from cheaper quality parts or lower quality workmanship. This isn't always the case though. Around my area the highest workshop charges are from the dealerships, and they certainly don't do the best work. Only a small amount of dealership work is because of their workmanship and reputation. Most of it is because they are a dealership. Independent workshops rely on their reputation to keep business coming. My point is, do your research on the workshop. If they do good work and the price is reasonable, then go with them. There is no point going to a workshop to save a few dollars if it's going to cost you more in the long run.

Wheels Sticking Out Of Arches. Illegal?
mad082 replied to ishyz34's topic in General Automotive Discussion
There are instances where a cage will increase the chances of injury (harder to get out of the car, for example). But that is all beside the point, and few people have cages these days. But the point you are missing about people setting their car up for drift is that they are making their car less safe on the road. I've driven a 180sx with stupidly stiff suspension and I found it down right dangerous. Going round a bumpy corner slower than I normally would (and well below the speed limit) I was bounced onto the wrong side of the road. With stock suspension, I could go around the corner at almost double the speed. Every car I've driven around that corner handled it better than the 180sx did with the stiff coilovers in it. Which is why they only stayed in the car a few days before being removed. And that's where the difference between me and many others lies. I acknowledged the fact that it was unsafe (and not enjoyable to drive, since you had to drive it slowly everywhere just to be as in control as a granny in her camry going at normal speed) so I made the decision to change it. But many people with stiff suspension setups just seem to think that coilovers = better handling. So coilovers used in pro drifting must mean super handling, regardless what they feel when they actually drive the car on the road. At the end of the day, if you want a drift car and are sick of police attention, build a track car. Most people know what the laws are before they mod their cars, so if they then mod their cars to be outside of the laws then they have no right to bitch about getting fined for their mods, like many do. -
From memory I only cut mine after I unplugged it, in order to get the wires out of the car when I removed the sensor when I got a new cat. It was about 6 years ago now, so my memory is a bit vague

We only increase our rates if someone brings in a whole heap of parts they bought online, not just the odd part, or if the job is to purely fit the parts they brought in. But we predominantly a retail business, so the workshop side of things isn't the core of the business, but it still has to pay for itself or I don't have a job. We have a job in at the moment where the customer bought all off the parts online. Absolutely everything. A few thousand dollars worth in total. He even rang up a wholesaler directly to get parts, then just had them sent directly to us. One of the parts he got was wrong, so I then had to spend a while chasing up something that would make it work (the wrong part was from China, bought off ebay). He also wanted progress photos to put on his blog. And should there be any warranty issues I'm sure he'll be expecting us to cover it.

What do you drive? I take it you live in gympie? I do too. I don't have a skyline anymore though.

Aristo about as quick as a Supra? Since when did the Aristo have as much success as the Supra did in JGTC ??? Oh wait it didn't even race in such a series. And Supra has an amaziiiiiinggg interior, feels like you're in a jet fighter plane. Totally awesome. "This is a CEFIRO!!!" (Tsuchiya negatively describing the performance of the V35 Skyline) I'd forgotten that how a highly modified race car performed reflected onto how 2 road going cars compare. Thanks for the reminder.....

I left the sensor in mine and just cut the wires. My cat temp light would come on as soon as I turned the ignition on (before even starting the car) on cold winter mornings.

If the engine is de and the body plate says de but there is a turbo, then it's simply had a turbo bolted to the de engine. This is a somewhat common mod. It just means you have to be careful with how much boost you run. If you want to be sure on what the car was originally then post up your vin in the FAST thread.

Wheels Sticking Out Of Arches. Illegal?
mad082 replied to ishyz34's topic in General Automotive Discussion
It would cost more money to make a skyline illegal than it would to legal, since it costs nothing to leave it stock. And there are plenty of mods that can be done that are legal. My complaint with the stance crowd (which I've said before and it also applies to many drifters too) is that they mod their car that not only makes it illegal, but unsafe. Stupidly stiff springs do not make a car handle better, unless you drive on the smoothest of smooth roads. On a rough road they will handle worse than stock suspension by a long way. And there are plenty of rough roads around.
