  1. just watched a show on anna meares (the cyclist). she can squat 145kg, single leg press 235kg and can vertical leap onto a box 110cm high (she's only 165cm tall). that's what I call impressive.
  2. best start off the year for Webber?
  3. You should be able to get about 10 or 11psi without any problems in the stock ecu
  4. If the car is pinging at relatively low boost levels then you should be looking for the cause of it rather than a bandaid fix. Out should be running rich. If it isn't then you have a problem. How have you diagnosed that it is running lean? Have you used a wideband o2 sensor? I think you need to go back to the start asked diagnose things properly. Get a timing light and check the timing properly. Get a wideband or put the car on a dyno and get the mixtures checked properly. Also check things like exhaust manifold studs and gaskets, because what you think is pinging may be a gasket rattling. Also try changing the fuel filter. It may be blocked, causing it to run lean. Finally, check the intake pipe between the afm and turbo for leaks. Is the bov recirculation hose hooked up to the bov? What about the oil breather hoses? If any if them aren't hooked up properly then you will run lean because it it's sucking in extra air that the ecu doesn't know about. Finally, you cannot simply put in bigger injectors. The car won't run with a stock ecu. Or if it does, it will run very poorly. It will idle like crap.
  5. The biggest factor in top speed is power, when comparing similar. Aero differences from different wings, whether you have the windows down, etc will play a small part as well. Grip levels will play a small part also as it determines how early you can get on the gas. Car weight and wheel weight also plays a part, as does tyre width. Skinnier tyres with a higher grip level will out perform wider tyres with lower grip, because wider tyres create more rolling resistance.
  6. Yeah but emissions laws are constantly changing these days, so it's hard to directly compare things. Not to mention what an engine it's designed for. An engine designed for a suv will have different outputs to something designed for a sports car. But I do get what you are saying.
  7. But that is a smaller engine with new tech. A bit like how the rb25 was better than the rb30. However in this case the op is taking the smaller, newer engine and bolting on the old tech.
  8. The plugs with part number bcpr6es are gapped to 0.8mm. I've never seen any with -8 on the end. I've seen the -11 which are the 1.1mm version
  9. Yeah, the standard plugs are iridium, not platinum. Both platinum and iridium plugs last longer than copper plugs, but they cost about 5 times as much, but don't last 5 times as long in my experience. The copper plugs I mentioned are what plenty of people run, and they work just fine. You will need to change them every 15,000 to 20,000kms though, depending on the conditions of your coils.
  10. If exhaust blown diffusers were still allowed then you might see some flames as they could double it with anti-lag
  11. Running lean it will generally run well (you make more power lean than rich, to a point). But it runs hot. I'd say that the fuel pump may be to blame, or possibly a blocked fuel filter. Pull out the spark plugs. That will give you an idea on whether it's running lean
  12. Going back a while now I bought a set of r33 16" wheels with near new tyres for $200, and a set of r34 gtt 17" wheels with near new tyres for $400.
  13. Who what when how why car license age I only paid $1050 a year when I was 25 when I had my r33. That was about 6 years ago though (back when a 33 was still worth something). It would've been $950 but I put the missus on the insurance and she was only 23.
  14. Start with the easy stuff. How old are your spark plugs? If you aren't sure, or they have been in there for a while then get new spark plugs. Ngk Bcpr6es is what you want to use. They will cost you about $30 for a set of 6. This will be the cheapest if the possible causes to fix, and most likely the one that will solve your problem. I don't think you are hitting r&r. It just seems to be everyone's go to response on this forum. If plugs don't solve the issue then try taping up the lower part of the coilpacks with electrical tape. If that makes things better then you need new coils.
  15. Surely though they should've known they were getting low on fuel and backed off just a fraction. Might've only cost them 1 spot instead of 2
  16. With the 'SAU Community' app or Tapatalk? And, on IOS or Android? We have an update to both the apps and the server side code coming, hopefully tonight. Sau app on android.
  17. saw a silver v35 in gympie today. had an aftermarket front bar and GTR badges in the grill and on the boot. made me want to follow him until he pulled over then take them off his car....... with a hammer...... and a run up
  18. any 98 octane fuel will be fine.
  19. Thanks to the P plate restrictions NA cars often sell for similar, or more than turbos (in standard form)
  20. Training before work can be hard. If I do a bunch ride before work and spend the rest of the day walking around with fried legs. I kind of wish I had a desk job on those days, and not a job where I'm on my feet all day. If I just do a ride by myself it isn't as bad though, since I take it easier, and don't have to keep up with the group (the main bunch ride I do finishes with a 30 to 35 minute hit out where my heart rate sits between 95 and 100% the whole time. That starts after about an hour of riding).
  21. There are a few flaws in the mcm tests, so while they give a general basis to work off, they aren't gospel.
  22. I doubt it would do any damage, but it probably won't give you any noticeable gains in power. There is always the small chance that it may result in a loss of power
  23. You will be able to tell whether it is a neo engine (from an r34) by the look of the engine. There probably is a way to tell by the engine number (by comparing it to the numbers off other r34s). The neo engines have a few minor differences to the earlier models.
