The r34 boxes may be the same. I'm not sure about them, but i know the earlier models had different boxes

You will only get to around 270hp or so without an aftermarket turbo, ecu, injectors, etc.
-
Did you use any gasket goo when installing the new gasket? If not, I'd pull it apart and put some on both sides if the gasket and see if that helps.

Take a screen shot of the program. It is probably just some consult program such as ecutalk or conzult. These don't actually allow you to tube the car, just diagnose things, and temporarily alter things. If by chance you do have done sort if aftermarket ecu and program to tune it, unless you have a wideband o2 sensor and know what you are doing, don't play around with the settings. You could end up doing some serious damage to the engine. As for not being a hoon. You just keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better. I'm not trying to be a smart arse (well actually i am) but any teenage who is trying to get around three law and get an exemption to drive a turbo on their p's isn't going to just drive around like a grandma. You have little regard for the law (since you are trying to get around it) so I'm assuming you will have the same amount of disregard for the road rules. whilst I'm sure that you will drive sensibly at times, I'm sure that at other times you will fit right into the stereotype the media likes to portray. So you can post back saying that i don't know you and you are intact a sensible driver, or something similar, but i won't believe you. You might think you are going to be sensible, but it won't be long before a commodore pulls up next to you at the traffic lights and you decide to show them who's faster.

You make it sound like v8 supercars are the only category to have extremely strict engine regs, etc, to make the playing field level. Every major racing category around the world has strict regulations to make the racing as close as possible.
-
The natro box will bolt to the turbo engine, it just isn't as strong.

They don't go off power at the wheels, they go off power at the flywheel. So your car is making about 160kw at the flywheel. Also keen to know how you were 'tuning' the computer since you haven't mentioned it having an aftermarket computer. I really wish kids would stop thinking the rules don't apply to them and try and find ways around them.

When does it do it? Only when turning corners? Or anytime?. If it's anytime, check the brake pads. They have a wear indicator tab that makes a noise once the pads get low

Gt3 Spec R35S Coming To Bathurst
mad082 replied to 1motoractive's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
But still altered to meet race regulations (such as being rwd instead of awd), so it still isn't a true comparison. -
Or doucheferrari.....

Let me guess, you are one of those people who are of the belief that v8 supercars was formed to ban the gtr, when this isn't true. as has already been stated in this thread, group a was already being phased out world wide (it was dead in the uk before the gtr even went into production). Australia was one of the last countries to still use the group a format. Australian motorsport often gets criticised for being behind the times, but had it been up with the times in the early 90's then we wouldn't be discussing the gtr in this thread. As for my like or dislike if the gtr, that isn't what is being discussed here. I'm merely pointing out that while the gtr was dominant when it raced, it wasn't as simple as many fanbois would like to think. The road car was twice the price of the commodore it was racing and i believe the race team's budget was much higher than everyone else. So basically, it should've won.
-
Group A sucked. The parity was terrible. The gtr was designed from the ground up to win group a, unlike the others that were cars designed to sell. Not to mention the gtr costing twice as much to buy as anything else it was racing. it's closest competitor on the track was in a different class, so had smaller tyres, etc. There will never be a category like group a again, which is a good thing.

Most auto stores should sell a spray adhesive for roof linings. Our go to your local hardware shop and buy a can of spray contact adhesive. Will cost less than $20 (i bought some today for a different use). Generally though you will need a new roof lining, because it is the foam becoming brittle that is causing the lining to sag.

The stock gauge doesn't read in psi, it reads in mmhg (mm of mercury i think it is). 7mmhg is about 14psi. Stock boost is 7psi, so the halfway mark is about right. Plus the fact that the stock gauge isn't that accurate.

R34 Auto N/a Sedan Performance Upgrades?
mad082 replied to junb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not really sure about the r34, but in the case of the r33, the turbo version comes with bigger brakes, stronger gearbox, 5 stud hubs, lsd. So while people might want to keep the car they know, the cost of turboing a natro properly will cost roughly the same as buying a whole turbo vehicle. -
Rev Cut And Boost Rpm Information Needed

Every car with an ecu has a rev limiter -
digital media will always be something that attracts criticism. one reason that I can see as to why they haven't dropped the price of downloadable material is to allow physical media versions of the same material (and the sellers of said material) to remain viable. another reason being that tax rates differ. and the wage argument still applies. all the major companies have arms of the company based in australia, so given that they still have to pay higher running costs than their US based headquarters, so products sold in their market will be where they get their funds from. having said that, apple haven't updated their prices in a very long time, so there is some validity to the claims they are laughing all the way to the bank. but so many people are still willing to feed the monster that they see no point to change. as for the dollar, you will never get products fluctuating everytime the dollar changes, even digital online media. for physical goods the price will usually change based off when the company has to pay for the goods, and then when they get the next shipment of goods. if there is a small fluctuation in the price of goods then the wholesaler will usually absorb the cost difference (be it a profit or loss). this protects both the retailler and the consumer in a way and brings stability to the market. but this isn't just an australian thing. this is a worldwide issue and australia isn't the most expensive country for things like apple goods. we are well up the list, but not the most expensive. but this issue goes well beyond retail goods. everyone likes to have a bitch when big companies send their manufacturing offshore, or companies bring in foreign workers. the simple fact is that australians are very quickly pricing themselves out of the market. why wouldn't a company want to bring in foreign workers that will work harder for less money? all the people who bitch about retail prices and say that "retaillers should just drop their prices if they want to remain competitive" should apply the same logic to employees of the manufacturing and building industries, etc. maybe they should drop their expectations of a wage to remain competitive in keeping their job.

dodgy iceblock?

mincer kelly did say after the race they have fuel economy issues
-
no, he's probably a genuine balinese street urchin......

the fords and holdens sound a little bit different to previous years. obviously the new regulations have allowed them to make a few changes. i wouldn't be suprised if we see them change to more modern race engines over the next few years. both ford and chev have race engines in their catalogue with the same sort of tech as the merc and nissan

maybe we should see if we can get them to let rick and todd swap cars so you don't have to cheer for the nancy boy kelly brother

Should Schools Teach Kids How To Fix Cars
mad082 replied to ARTZ's topic in General Automotive Discussion
when my mother was learning to drive, granddad made her learn how to change a tyre before she got to learn to drive. of course now that she's had surgery on both of her hands she no longer has the strength to be able to change a tyre, but she still knows what to do, lol -
it should have everything to do with it. the distribution costs (running costs of retailers and wholesalers) in australia is much higher than in the states. plus the fact that these costs are spread across a population that is only a fraction of the size. in terms of hours worked to buy goods, australia is actually much better off than america.

Hasn't spun a bearing, but looks like they had the same guy design the oil system that designed the oil system from the rb26. Only this time he didn't want starvation issues, so he made it pump oil out the exhaust.....
