  1. so do they just run a solid axle? LOL
  2. yes. you can pick up a gen 3 ss for about $15
  3. this thread really does bring out the japanese version of bogans. a few things to remember about the skyline. it came in both 2 and 4 door (like the commodore/monaro did). they are family cars. they are just smaller people so need less space. you try and fit 5 adults into a skyline. the silvia/200sx is more of a sports car than a skyline. skylines came in turbo/non turbo models (could be compared to v6/v8 in the commodore) the roads in japan are generally a lot better than in aus so the suspension can be stiffer and smoother than an aussie built car. i know that on a rough road i'd rather be in a aussie built car. the octane rating of fuel in japan is higher than here, so they can tune the motors for more power. they don't have to detune them so much. the xr6t is tuned so that it will run on 91 octane fuel if you need to. just look at the performance difference between the JDM and ADM 200sx. earlier model commodores are lighter than skylines. most v8 commodores out there that people brag about beating have a cat back exhaust (about $500 worth of performance mods). most skylines out there have turbo back exhaust, boost controller and FMIC. now depending on brands thats anywhere from $1000 to $2000 worth of mods. which is more than what the commodore has. spend the same on the commodore and see how much it gains. and then if the skyline has an aftermarket ecu on it add that onto the cost of mods. and in my opinion people who put a gtr bodykit on a skyline are no better than someone who puts a hsv bodykit on a commodore. now i'm, not saying commodores are better, just putting a few things in perspecitve. i get sick of people saying "i wasted a commodore in my skyline" when they may have $3000 worth of performance mods and the commodore has just had an exhaust done. i'd be worried if you had spent that much on mods and not beaten a pretty much stock commodore. i think skylines are great cars, but i am a car enthusiest, not a green eyed import monster. i know that a commodore with a bit of money spent on it can beat a skyline, and vice versa.
  4. that vid against the r1 isn't that good. they aren't into it long enough, and the bike is only accelerating after the car has. really need a proper comparison. the car and the bike next to each other and then accelerating at a certain point.
  5. neither. go a r33 gts-t. newer than the r32, faster than the 32 and not much more than the r32 (plenty of 33's around the 13k mark)
  6. the s2 has the ignitor in the coils, so as wogs said the plug for there is different. and as said the tps plug is different, and i think the AFM plug may be different as well.
  7. not sure about skylines, but in know with s13s the non turbo don't have a LSD.

    Hoon Law?

either way, in the long run it will be cheaper to take a taxi.
  9. bmx is sold, but still have the road bike.
  10. there are a few of them in town. as for motor, you would need to see if the car has a engine size rating (the biggest motor you can put in that car). this would depend on state, etc.
  11. but should i go to sell it down the track i would get a lot more for it if it was a steel shell, instead of glass. i have seen the glass shells before. one done up with the steel shell will sell for about $80k if done nicely.
  12. did you all read it properly? yes they use a turbo, but they use the standard type fuel injection (injectors firing before the valves), then they have another injector built into the head to fire ethanol into the cylinders on the compression stroke when the valves are shut.
  13. they probably bought the plates before you knew how to drive. but yes, there is lots of money put into these cars. i would like to build a 1933 ford 3 window coupe, but i am looking at about $15,000 just for a rusty old shell with no motor, running gear, etc. and it isn't just a case of bolting stuff in. you have to custom make a front and rear end for it, then custom fit brakes, and steering, then custom make all the interior, the list goes on. my father-in-law does it for a living, so i know how much shit there is too it, and they mainly do F trucks, which are easy ones. but they still take about 2-3 months work (thats working 5 days a week on it).
  14. if you only have 25k i'd go for the GT-T. a gtr for 25k could end up costing you a lot more in a few months time. should something go wrong with the r34 its going to be cheaper to fix.
  15. i'd go to the wreckers and see what falcon rims you can get. or if you want something a little wider get some r32 gtr rims.
  16. yeah i mean what sort of insurance company would refuse a claim because you have an illegal modification that reduces visibility.......
  17. bahahahahaha.
  18. well actually the s14 is more powerful. 164kw for the s14, 158kw for the r32. it will win because it is both lighter and more powerful.
  19. i don't bag out bigger brakes cause i don't have them. i was just making a point that if someone is looking for a brake upgrade and are already locking up brakes then bigger brakes wouldn't help. better tyres would.
  20. you need to get both upper and lower camber adjustments put in. unless you are drifting you don't want zero camber. having a small amount of camber makes the car grip better when turning.
  21. falken ziex suck-didily-uck. tyres i found good in the wet were bridgestone G grid and perelli p5000. but i haven't used many high performance tyres. but value for money the G grids where really good.
  22. if it was a built ford svt lightning then it may be a different story. those things are fast. but a dodge ram i don't think so, unless it has a big blower on it. and i mean big.
