  1. how does the jaycar kit work? does it have a full range sweep so you know what it is saying (so you can see if it is 14.6, etc) or is it just in stages? if it is just in stages then that is the first problem. it could be anywhere in that stage. also it is only working off the stock o2 sensor so it is by no means accurate. as has been said though, stick it on a dyno and get the afr's checked properly.
  2. wel there is a whole other thread about the pfc's being discontinued but anyay, what ecu you use really depends on your tuner. if your tuner recommends wolf then use wolf. if they use microtech use microtech. this applies even if the pfc isn't being discontinued.
  3. yeah i'm pretty sure its 4.1-1 and the active lsd is 4.3-1. or something like that.
  4. that just says something about the traction control. hehehe
  5. it depends on the condition of the bov. some may hold 1 bar. others may leak at lower. personally i'd run a different bov (either gtr or aftermarket) at that sort of level.
  6. i have over 200rwk and am running 205's on stock r33 wheels. they aren't too skinny. they are fun! fair enough full noise in first gear is kind of a waste of time. but they are ok.
  7. the front of the car looks like a hippo poking its head out of the water.
  8. i must say i do like it. i like a lot of new cars in white. like the mazda 6 and the ba/bf xr's. just something about them that looks racey. like a mines gtr. and pfft, its not that quick. my mates fully sick stock as a rock 3 speed auto 1977 chrysler galant thats only running on 3 cylinders could beat it...... if they were both dropped of a cliff.
  9. i'm pretty sure you just squeeze the sides.
  10. i vote the new commodore (in executive form and champagne in colour) as nearly as ugly. still there are uglier cars in the world.
  11. the problem is trying to get a sender that fits that hole.
  12. much cheaper to buy a rb25 halfcut. about half the price. a rb25 halfcut is about $3500-4000. rb26 is much more.
  13. thought so.
  14. i found some of the adapters at autobarn. $30! going to hold off for now.
  15. a rb25 conversion done on the same budget as a rb26 conversion will probably get you better performance. and if you happen to blow the motor it is a darn sight cheaper to rebuild. just put a rb25 in, then get a bigger turbo and new ecu and you'll be laughing.
  16. a 13.7 may be possible with just a cat back, more boost and REALLY good tyres and driver.
  17. you could've just been having a bad night. i'd get rid of the stock cat though. that will help a bit. the bogging sounds like it may have been your plugs, or it may have been pinging and the ecu was backing the timing of a bit.
  18. a r32 with a full tank of fuel weighs the same as r33 with a nearly empty tank. they are 4% heavier, but have over 20% more power. but yes, an rb25 is a much better place to start. a guy in town just spent $8000 doing up an rb20. he put a stupidly big turbo on. he makes full boost at 5800rpm, and his redline is at 7200rpm. max power is just under 250hp (~185kw), and off boost it is hopeless. now for a darn sight less than $8000 he could've bolted a stock rb25 in and made the same power and had a much nice car to drive.
  19. i suppose i will have to make something up. getting my hands on stainless piping is no worries. i'll try putting it in the stock location (haven't bought the gauge yet) but if it doesn't fit then i'll make something up. should i just cut toe standard top hose to fit the adapter in, or buy 2 new bits of hose. i want to try to get out of this as cheaply as possible since its going to be an expensive week for me as it is.
  20. hi mount means new dump pipe.
  21. if it is dropping below 10psi then i'd say the actuator is stuffed. the actuator is rated to 10psi so that is the minimum it should hold. or there is a major leak somewhere.
  22. either faulty gauge/sender, hole somewhere, or someone syphoned it. it isn't that hard to open filler flaps. and just because the cap is on doesn't mean much. the theif may have just been polite enough to put it back on.
  23. i'd say it is probably the heater hose like topaz said.
  24. i gotta become a pizza boy! must be making good money if you are looking at putting an rb26 in. or you haven't seen the price of doing the conversion. i'd just wait till the engine dies and put an rb25 in, and spend a bit of money on that.
