It's a mix of intake design, valves, ports and exhaust.

Unfortunately you have the rb engine that puts out the least amount of power. The best solution is to either bolt a rb25 into it, or sell it and buy another car. A little more research on the car before you bought it would've saved you this hassle.

Webber had a pretty decent start for once

Need Help! R33 Gts-T Overheating Somewhere!
mad082 replied to R33 Johnson's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
My guess is that you got water around the coils, which is causing them to arc out and not ignite the fuel, resulting in loss of power and fuel being combusted in the exhaust, which is why it was read hot. -
i saw a headline for a story about the ipad mini and had a laugh. just made me think that they have put a sticker on the iphone 5 (or ipod) saying "ipad mini" so they will just sell the apple fans a second iphone/ipod

awww, you guys

if the hole is big enough that bits of what you'd be sealing it with could get into the oil, then the hole must be pretty big and the only option taken should be a new head. not to mention that there would be more chance of part of the alloy from the head around the hole ending up in the oil.

probably to do with the new clutch fan you put in. go for a drive on a bit of highway/motorway. if the temp is ok at highway speed then you know it's the fan. but either way, 90 degrees isn't that high. to put that in perspective, one of the thermos in the missus SSS doesn't come on until 100 degrees (set that way from factory). pretty sure the thermos don't kick in on my commodore until about 95 as well.

aw you guys......... and if it's a manual magna, you won't beat it in a natro skyline without work done. auto you may, but manual you won't, especially if it's a vrx and SSS go well with a set of extractors. they make a big difference

be easier just to take the car to an exhaust shop and get them to make something up. believe it or not, skylines are not mythical cars, and any workshop with half a brain will be able to make up an exhaust for it. there is no additional skill required compared to any other car on the market.

i watch the v8 supercars now. i will watch them next year. i'm not going to suddenly start barracking for nissan though, because i can't stand rick kelly. i also doubt they will be at the pointy end of the field. they'll be mid pack like they are now. if they can't be at the pointy end of the field with existing technology, they are going to struggle with all new stuff, even with nissan helping them. at the end of the day, it is still their (kelly brothers) engineers who have to set the cars up on race day, and the drivers have to give them the right feedback as to what they want. so it will still be FPR and 888 at the pointy end, possibly HRT as well, and SBR will be making up the top 10 i think.

Move over 300zx, we have a new car to make "engine out" jokes about.

I'd take the stud out and put some sort of sealant or putty at the back of the hole to seal up the oil leak. Let it set properly before putting the stud back in. I wouldn't bother with anything on the thread as it will only end in tears if you have to remove that stud again

I was disappointed that the commentators got his name wrong......... compared to channel 10 at least

Wouldn't the easiest way to send an email from your Bigpond account while OS be to simply log in via your browser, in the same way you would log into hotmail, etc. sure it won't be as nice as using the app, but it will get the job done.

Followed a 32 from cooroy to gympie a few weeks back. Plates ended in MYB.

If the stock bob was venting to the atmosphere, and was done so be simply removing the plumback pipe, then yes that will make it run rich as the stock bov has a hole that permanently lets it bleed air off. Might be worth taking the bov of and checking to see if the hole was blocked.
-
Maybe make sure the resonators were installed the right way. If they were installed the wrong way round they won't do much
-
check you don't have a leak in the cooler piping somewhere. it probably has a large leak somewhere which is making it leak a heap of boost and making it run rich. do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? if so, where does it sit when you are just idling? should sit about -20 at idle if there is no leaks
-
the intake manifold has coolant running through it, as well as a heater hose running underneath it. could be leaking from somewhere there
-
still worth taking note of how many litres went in, because if it has an aftermarket fuel pump then they sometimes don't sit as low as the stock pumps and can make you run out of fuel well before the fuel light has even come on.

What Is Optimal Thermofan Configuration For R32 Gtr?
mad082 replied to black32gtr's topic in General Maintenance
the power lost by a clutch fan is bugger all, especially since it only engages fully at higher temps. thermo fans don't have a direct drag on the motor, but they increase the load on the alternator, which puts more load on the engine. so they aren't a free power mod as some people believe. a big fan draws more air than a small fan as it's the tips of the fan that draw the most air as they are travelling faster than the middle of the fan (same rpm, but they travel a further distance). plenty of cars with thermo fans run 2 fans as it allows them to have different stages of cooling. for example, in some cars, in normal conditions/temps, one fan is used for engine cooling, while the other will come on when the air con is turned on. as for looking for alternatives, sure you could look at fitting thermos, or you could just buy a new clutch for the fan. personally, if i was going to run a thermo setup, i'd just use the factory setup off another car, and trim the shrouds as need be. i'd be looking at something off a late model falcon, magna or of a smaller fwd car such as a pulsar, corolla, etc. i'd just find something with a similar sized radiator and go from there. -
how many litres are you calling a tank? the tank is 65L, but fuel light generally comes on with 10L to go. is the fuel light coming on before you fill up? as i say in every fuel economy thread, unless you are running it until it runs out of fuel, using "a tank" as a measure for economy is stupid. given that people will all fill up at different points on the gauge, the economy you are getting compared to others will vary by a fair bit.
