  1. the stock fan moves more than enough air.
  2. i had the ticking noise from the indicator stalk constantly going in my vt commodore. the indicators would only work when the stalk was moved, but the clicking would come and go, such as if i hit a bump it would go crazy. new stalk fixed it
  3. the best way to avoid any issues after updating is to clear the cache afterwards. very few people do this, so they end up with bugs as there is still cache from before the update conflicting with updated firmware. as i said in an earlier post, i just updated to 4.0.4 on my galaxy s2. had a few issues with the phone freezing for the first few days. cleared the cache and it's been fine ever since. even runs faster than it did straight after the update.
  4. yep, nissan designed it from the ground up to work around the group A rules as best as possible. plus the fact that it cost about twice as much to buy as the top model commodore at the time
  5. Plus the fact that ethanol is a little bit more prone to absorbing water, so it has a shorter shelf life.
  6. The .3 on the end is just the build version. I recently updated my galaxy s2 from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 via a OTA update, but to update it to 4.0.3 originally i had to plug it into the computer and use the samsung kies program
  7. Is there no official update for it? On phone so can't check. But you could backup everything then go into settings, school down about phone, and the first option in there should be check for updates.
  8. Aside from all the info about the tyre being damaged, without a compressor (and not one of the ones that plugs into the cigarette lighter) you won't get the tyre on the bread without resorting to some dodgey method involving fire.
  9. Bp is barometric pressure. But at the end of the day, that stuff doesn't really matter
  10. Is there a jaycar anywhere near you? They have them listed on their site. Search "camcorder" on their site and it comes up
  11. What do you want to know? The top lines are power, the bottom lines are aif/fuel ratio.
  12. It would end up cracking the pavement
  13. That's a bit of a useless test as he is just dropping them any old way. You can see from the way they are landing in totally different ways that it is hardly an accurate comparison. If anything, he drops the iphone more gently than the s3, which he sort of flings. So, while the results fair poorly for the s3, it's hardly a thorough test
  14. yeah just drop the exhaust off and shine a torch in the cat.. sometimes tapping them can tell if the cat has collapsed too.
  15. are they rounded, as in can't get a spanner to grip on them? or is the thread stipped so they just spin and won't come out? if they are rounded, then get some vice grips on them. if they are stripped, try to get a screw driver in between the head of the bolt and the body. then try undoing the bolt while trying to lever the bolt out at the same time
  16. i had a similar problem after doing a turbo install on a mates 33. put it on the dyno and the boost would drop from 16psi down to about 12psi by redline. we even disconnected the boost controller and it still did it. turned out it was the cat converter had collapsed. it simply couldn't flow enough exhaust gases to keep the turbo making enough boost
  17. 2500rpm is only when i drops down a gear going up the 10% climb just outside of noosa, or when giving it some away from the lights, lol
  18. android is like that. the gps only comes on when the app uses it, but you also have to option of turning it all the way off if you want to as well.
  19. you don't need them
  20. yeah i figured that. just thought i'd clarify it for him
  21. skylines are quickly becoming the hoons car of choice, since they are so cheap. we had a storm come through noosa this arvo. the first car i saw doing burnouts in the wet was a r32. imports in general are the new commodore these days (unless you are in a mining community)
  22. ok so you are wanting to use the AFR gauge for adjusting the boost and checking the AFR? well what you need to know is that the stock ecu uses the o2 sensor to keep the AFR between 14:1 and 15:1 when cruising. no matter what boost you run, at cruising speed it will run the same AFR as it will barely be making any boost. so you can double your boost and it won't affect your fuel economy when cruising. it will however affect your fuel economy when flooring it. also, unless you have an aftermarket ecu you can't do any tuning anyway. for proper tuning you need a wideband o2 sensor unit (which go for a few hundred dollars) and are a seperate unit from the ecu and stock o2 sensor. some aftermarket ecus still rely on the o2 sensor for what is called "closed loop", which is exactly what the stock ecu uses for cruise economy.
  23. about 12psi is the max of what the stock ecu will take.
  24. Yep android is easy. I only use my Bluetooth when making a call when driving, so i have it off all day, then when i ring the missus on the way home i just tap a button and it's on. Takes me 2 second. I do it while walking across the car park. The only time i use gps it's when I'm on my bike (strava app) or if I'm looking for somewhere and i don't have the car gps with me, but even then i often don't need to turn the gps on. But you can just leave it on and it just stays in standby mode until an app actually uses it. But there are times when you dont want apps geotagging you and it can be easier to leave the gps off than disable location services. But my brother in law lined up at 7am to buy 2 iphones. He got cut when i showed him the Samsung advertising. I had a good chuckle, as i posted it on his facebook status about how he loves his new iPhone, and when someone asked him what it was like he said "pretty much just like the old one, but a bit faster." Then came my link to the ad. About 2 mins later he deleted his status.
