  1. it might not have gotten an actual response, however in the malaysian GP there was a distinct lack of ads compared to other races. china GP they went back to normal
  2. obviously hasn't figured out a way to make big money from it yet channel 10 tv guide (on their site) is showing "to be advised" from 8:30pm to midnight next sunday. the tv guide on my PVR is showing the F1 coverage starting at 9:30. so it may be live. and all the ads they had playing saying it was moving to channel 10 said it would be live. if there is any issue with this telecast not being live i'd say it will only be for bahrain due to the on again off again status of the race
  3. what happens if you let the fuel pump prime before you try and start the car? might be worth changing the fuel filter. other possible issues are the CAS, AFM, intake leak. another plausible cause is the cold start valve (linked to the AAC, but down under the intake manifold). or simply that your fuel pump is on it's way out. putting it on a dyno would help rule that one out.
  4. r33 diffs (except for maybe the rare active diff) are a viscous diff. they have no clutch packs. changing the oil in the diff, or putting an engine flush in there won't have any effect on how the viscous coupling works. it will clean out the diff housing and gears, but won't have any effect on the drive effect of the LSD.
  5. such a shame RBR isn't running honda engines. would make an epic "vtec just kicked in, yo" pic. still makes a good "redbull gives you wings" pic though
  6. i think button will be the more consistent of the 2 mclaren drivers this year. if hamo does happen to get a good run, i think he will fold under the pressure. that is assuming he doesn't find someone to replace massa as his dodgem car buddy. yeah webber is adapting better. they probably just went and raided the ash tray of the transport truck to pay the fine.
  7. or go and have a chat with your local mechanic. general rule of thumb though, if it's japanese (actually japanese, not just a japanese brand) then it will be decent. so for small cars, your toyotas, nissans, hondas and subarus are all decent cars with few faults.
  8. anyone else catch (in the replays that they showed early on in the race of the start from different onboard shots) how bad vettels start was? webber got an average start, but vettels was possibly the worst in the field. if it's been any slower he'd have been overtaken by the pace car
  9. there will be something wrong with the seal or fuel line at the top of the tank where the pump is accessed from. it is very easy to do. there is a thread in the DIY section about how to change a fuel pump. it will give you all the info you need to access the area and check what is going on
  10. webber's 3rd 4th in a row, lol
  11. if it sounds like the typical whine a VN commodore makes when you turn the wheel, then your pump is shagged.
  12. the oil leaking from there is a sign that you have had (or do have) some type of blowby issue. it may simply be that the car had an issue in the past and there is still just oil left in the intake pipe.
  13. yeah definitely find the problem rather than trying to mask the problem. might take a little bit of dicking around to find, but in the long run that's better than frying other electrics in the car, or a possible fire like mentioned above.
  14. i think the telecast starts at 4:30, so it will be either 5 or 5:30
  15. he's getting off the line much better this year than last year. only losing half the amount of spots he did last year.
  16. there will be a short in the wiring somewhere. or there is a small chance your alternator is overcharging, which isn't a good thing
  17. there will often be a small amount of variance. try going for a drive and pulling up somewhere and measuring them again. you may find it is different. even just driving up onto a driveway can make the car sit unevenly
  18. that fuel economy was for my shitty old VT wagon. my 33 never got below about 16L/100kms, but that was due to driving style. i did get dead on 10L/100kms on a trip to brissy though, and that included a bit of city driving.
  19. How bad was the start from the evo on the front row? Even a commodore had to swerve around it
  20. followed a maroon 33 with the plates EER33 from cooroy onto the highway to the bottom of black mountain. i have the following observations to make. 1: one of your tail lights is faded so it is more yellow than red. 2: your car is running pretty rich. i could smell it inside my car with the windows up. now for comments on your driving. you weren't able to stay within the lines. for the few kms that i followed you, you were constantly varying you speed between 5 to 15km/h under the limit. then when we go to the overtaking lanes and i tried to pass you, you sped up to 20km/h over the limit so i couldn't get past without flooring it, and then you slowed back down once i was past. you're a deadset dumbass. you may have thought i was wanting to race you because i was constanly getting closer and further away, but that was just because of your poor ability to hold a steady speed meaning that i had to keep slowing down and speeding up.
  21. i remember seeing that car in some of the races. generally got hosed by everything else in it's class. and a better decription for the vid would be GTR traction.
  22. from the info i saw, initially she was in an older spec car that may have run in a different class where she won a few races in that category (whilst still placing poorly overall). in the same sort of way that different classes all race at the same time in some sports car categories and the le mans series. i may be wrong about that though (not really a follower of DTM). the end of her career was just plain shit though, LOL. i'd like to see lowndes in a f1 drive. probably wouldn't see too many other f1 drivers come out of a corner all crossed up while only steering with one hand whilst also resting his elbow on the top of the cockpit, like he does in his v8 supercar, lol.
  23. that tells most of the story, but not all of it. how an engine delivers it's power will give a better indication of how fast it will be. plus gear ratios. for example, if a commodore had gear ratios similar to those of a skyline then they would give even mild turbo skiylines a bit of a scare because of the amount of low down power they produce compared to small engined turbo cars. they would also be a nightmare to launch without a ploom of tyre smoke.
  24. my fill up this week was about $85, and that was just for driving to and from work. fuel economy was dead on 9.0L/100kms.
  25. i thought the 044 was an external pump and the 040 was the internal pump? maybe that is part of your problem. or it may have nothing to do with it and it may be fine if your old pump was dodgy then putting a new pump in may be showing another issue that was previously hidden by a failing fuel pump. this may be something simple like a dirty afm or fouled spark plugs.
