  1. the idling issue is either being caused by the vacuum hose to the brake booster, or the brake booster itself is damaged. you need to work that out before trying to find out where to get the parts. as for the power issue, i don't really know what you mean, so can't help there.
  2. might want to do some research into the price difference between private rego and insurance and company insurance. you won't be saving any money. will actually cost you more for both of them in most cases. i looked at putting my skyline into my business name in case it was cheaper. it wasn't.
  3. doesn't matter whether nissan have a V8 car in australia. it only has to be a 4 door car. it will then be cut and shut to make the dimensions the same as the ford and holden and then have the same motor, gearbox, suspension, etc put in. it's not like holden or ford have cars with 5L pushrod engines in them (ford has a 5L engine in the falcon but it's more advanced than the v8 supercar engine) and should ford or holden be worried? hell no. not unless vodafone/888 racing start racing in a nissan. unlike 20 years ago, the nissan will just be a generic race car with a nissan body made to fit it.
  4. Just quoting this for when all the die hard Nissan fans who are stuck in 1992 come in and start going how Nissan is going to shit all over Holden and Ford. As mlr said though, I watch because race car. I watch any racing.
  5. should've just written back "just bring the money with you when you come to pick the car up" LOL
  6. all the gear ratios will be different to the 4 speed. they haven't simply thrown an extra ratio in.
  7. +1 for SSS pulsar (but N15). and +1 for not being too worried about 200,000kms. my VT wagon had 201,000kms when i bought it. it's now up to over 230,000kms and hasn't missed a beat.
  8. dunno about that. the quickest time i've seen for a 210kw sv6 (stock) was in the mid/high 14's. the majority of drivers would be getting high 14's to low 15's, which is noticably slower than a stock GTR, let alone one that's had a few minor mods.
  9. as long as the wideband is in the rear muffler then you only need one. if using it in the exhaust where it is only monitoring 3 cylinders then you would want to check the other bank after the tune just to be sure there isn't an issue with that bank. but the ecu only uses 1 lot of settings for the whole lot so what 1 side does, the other side should be doing too. not that many ecus will allow for cylinder specific tuning.
  10. well given that there are plenty of hoons who drive imports, and plenty of imports with illegal mods, why shouldn't it happen? a lot of import owners also drive around in areas and at times where the police are out in force, where they will pull people over regardless of what they drive. everyone who buys an import knows that they are a cop magnet, yet they still buy them and then plenty have a sook about it. if i bought a crocodile and it tried to eat me i wouldn't have a sook about it.
  11. QLD isn't the only state to have P plate restrictions though. other states have the same restrictions. QLD wasn't even the first to have them (3rd i think). as for the holden thing, i think it was the government showing a bit of sense. the commodore was only just outside the restrictions, yet is a common family car. i'm sure that had nissan been selling a car with as much market share as the commodore then they could've convinced the government to alter the rules. either way, i think you will see the rules change in the future as well as cars change. for the people who are saying that he has money and should be able to buy whatever he wants, yeah sure. he can buy whatever he wants. what he can't do though is drive it illegally and then have an epic sook when he gets busted doing the wrong thing. as someone else had said, if i was in hit situation i would've just dealt with it and moved on.
  12. does he have an aftermarket ecu? if not then there isn't much that can be done about it running rich. but that problem is being caused by it running rich, so you need to find out why it is running rich. there is probably an issue with something such as the AFM or injecotrs that is making it run rich. is it only happening on cylinders 4 and 6, or all of them? if only 4 and 6 then it is that there is an issue with the coils on 4 and 6, or the injectors.
  13. yes the NA's are that ordinary to drive. either go the turbo or none at all if you wan't something that puts a smile on your face. the attessa system won't really provide any gains over a standard GT in NA form as putting the power down won't be an issue
  14. maybe read the forum rules and see if the post was against the forum rules. we have a reputation to uphold and if the post was removed it may have been viewed as damaging to the reputation of the forum or against the rules.
  15. he isn't an icon. he's not even close. he's just some young douche who can hit a ball ok so is for some reason famous for it. i'm pretty well respected in my trade but i don't get paid big money or have tv crews come and record me while i'm at work. having a job that makes you famous doesn't mean that you suddenly can start acting like a douche or thinking you are above the law. there are plenty of people who work harder than sports stars but don't get world wide recognition. so does that mean that if some other 16 year old works hard and buys a GTR while still on his L's he should be able to drive it? no. it is against the law and the fact that you can hit a ball a little bit better than someone else has sweet fuck all to do whether you can try and dodge the laws. they are there for a reason to try and keep young idiots out of high powered cars. and he has proven that he is a young idiot
  16. i notice you have a P plate on the GTR in your pic. is that still current? just asking before i go on a bit of a rant. if it isn't, then welcome and ignore the following. i thought NSW had P plate restrictions? do you have an exemption or are you simply disregarding the laws? if the latter, do you realise that you are part of the reason why imports get a hard time from the cops. the laws are there and everytime the cops pull over a P plater in a restricted car it only hurts the image of imports both in their eyes, and the eyes of the general public. this means that more pressure is put on the police to give import owners a hard time. it doesn't help other P platers either. not to mention the possible implications for your insurance in the event of a crash. sorry for the rant, but we have plenty of people starting threads asking how to get exemptions so they can go buy a turbo car, or threads about how they bought one anyway and then start going on about how they race everything they see. doesn't do the image of the forum, and import owners in general much good.
  17. that's cause he's a mad cunt anywho, welcome to the forums mate
  18. probably not the exact same ratio, but it would be close. they usually the case in all cars. final ratio for top gear is usually the same because the cars have enough torque and get the best fuel economy with the gearing at a certain rev range
  19. ahahaha, and the interior looks like it's from the 1970s. they have the potential to look good, but they often end up looking like arse. a bit like a 33 4 door, LOL just kidding, the 33 4 door doesn't have the potential to look good
  20. the stock 15" tyre used on the SSS pulsars (i own one) are a 205/55/15. offset on them is about 38mm from memory (would have to walk outside to do that and i'm too lazy). if the car only has 14" wheels on it now then would i be correct in assuming that it isn't a SSS? if this is the case and it is only running the 1.6L motor then i wouldn't be asking what the widest tyre you can fit on those rims as that will slow the car down. the widest tyre you can put on there is a 225 or maybe even a 235. just stick with the 205 wide tyres.
  21. well it's the NA section, so mostly P platers. not much point talking about an engine in a car that they can't drive, not matter how good it is, LOL.
  22. slows my netbook down something epic. still waiting to get onto the next page.....
  23. love how we are all supposedly "jealous bitches". the guy is a dopey fuck who thought he could do what he likes. we don't like him because he is a dumbass, not because we are jealous.
  24. they've always been as bad, if not worse. but yeah, +1 for late model aussie 6 being grossly underestimated in the import community.
  25. wonder if the exemption had mention of the details of the car he was allowed to drive. i hope it does so he has to try and get a new exemption and they till him to eat a dick.
