Good R33 Ecu Or Piggy Back
mad082 replied to Manuel Kasko's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
pretty much any tune will be able to tune a nistune as well. to change settings in the nistune all you need is a laptop and a consult cable. and while the PFC may show a knock reading, the nistune will actually react to knock and back the timing off, just like a standard ecu (since that is what it is, a standard ecu that you can alter the mapping of). and i never said that a pfc wouldn't give you gains over a stock ecu, because it will. however it will not give you power gains over a nistune with the same tune on it. -
Would A Track/race Gtr Be Faster With No 4Wd?
mad082 replied to bigmikespec's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
japanese GT cars have set specifications, like pretty much every other racing category. that is why some of the GTRs were rwd. it is also the same reason the R35 GTR's run in rwd and are powered by a 3.4L V8 -
good luck trying to find any newish car that is as unrefined as a dirty old skyline, as that seems to be what you are really wanting, especially when comparing it to an r32. put simply, new cars = refined. old cars = rough around the edges. and if the v6 wasn't smoother than a dirty old rb20 then it must've been missing a spark plug or 3. and obviously it will feel different to drive too, being a large NA motor compared to a smaller motor with a turbo. smaller motors are always more highly strung, while bigger NA motors are more lazy. oh and FYI, i'm not a v6 fan.

Fuel Consumption In A N/a Skyline
mad082 replied to r33-Scotty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i dare him to put a tank of e85 in and then try to drive out of the driveway of the servo without needing a towtruck, LOL -
what is FRP? is it fibreglass, carbon, etc? if they are anything other than steel or alloy then they will most likely be illegal

i will definitely have to have a crack over the weekend. in the gt4 superlap challenge thread on here i was up in the top few on most tracks (first on a few). so are we going superlap format? SS tyres only? i'll do a few with and without just in case, LOL

ditch the front diff and bolt a twin turbo gen3 in there.....

by build revs you mean that it is running but idling abnormally low and then slowly comes up to where it should be? that could be related to the fuel leak. i had a line on the fuel filter on my commodore leaking and it would turn over for a while before starting, but then it would run fine.

Good R33 Ecu Or Piggy Back
mad082 replied to Manuel Kasko's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i'd still go the nistune. even with a z32 ecu you should be able to get it all installed and tuned for about $1000. pfc does bugger all more (won't see you any gains in power) and will end up costing you much more. the money you save could be put towards other mods -
Best R33 Gtr On Carsales In Melbourne?
mad082 replied to GTR_KING's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
sounds like some keyboard warrior to me, LOL oh and FYI, he didn't fully convert it into a GTR. that is impossible. i bet that on the build plate it says that it is a NA still. and if he turned a NA into GTR and spent that much money on it, all it proves is that he's as dumb as a post. on topic though, by the sounds of it you should go for the GT-t. it will be better suited to both what you want to use it for, and your knowledge of cars. -
what are the made from? if carbon then they will most likely be illegal.

if it's leaning out then that will be causing the low power reading. dodgy afm solder joint could be causing the leaning out if it isn't reading properly if you have an 040 pump and 550cc injectors it sure as hell shouldn't be running out of fuel. it either needs a better tune or if the tuner can't get enough fuel without a FPR then there is something wrong in the fuel system. either the fuel filter is very blocked, one of the injectors is blocked or the pump is shagged (most likely cause). having said that, 9.5psi through a highflow turbo isn't that bad, especially if it has a .82 rear housing. you may find that running 3 or 4psi more boost puts it up into it's effeciency range more and it starts making more appropriate power for the mods. but the first thing i'd do is solve the leaning out issue.

microtech is probably going to be the easiest and best ecu to use in this example. doubt there will be any plug and play ecu -
Best R33 Gtr On Carsales In Melbourne?
mad082 replied to GTR_KING's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
is he a friend or an acquaintance (someone you know enough to say hello to)? if he is a friend then he won't care about you asking him questions, and he should be more than happy to go looking at cars with you. as people have said, you really need to do some research. are you planning on using the car on a daily basis? if so then you may want to rethink your choice unless you are going to look very closely before buying a car. an ordinary example of a GTR is going to cost you a whole lot of money in the long run. -
What Drivers On Our Roads Are Doing To Skylines.
mad082 replied to S3RK's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
that really doesn't mean much. as for who is in the wrong, if the car you hit was already on the round about when you entered then you are in the wrong (regardless of where he entered). think of it this way, if a car was stalled on a round about for a good 5 seconds before you entered, you see this but still enter the round about and plow into the side of the car at full speed because they should've given way. the same still applies even if you didn't see the hazard before you entered. it's an extreme example but it proves my point. on the other hand, if he entered once you were already on the round about then he is in the wrong as he didn't give way. -
no, because it's hamo who loves to crash into massa. and not saying he should just let him through, but should excercise a bit of common sense. i knew there was going to be a crash before massa even started to turn in.

tow rating has little to do with the power of the vehicle. it has to do with what the chassis will handle, as well as gearbox and sometimes brakes (on newer cars). for example, a toyota corolla (which according to the specs weighs 1325kg) has a 1300kg towing capacity (braked, unbraked is 450kg). that is a car with 100kw. long story short, no the van won't tow as well as the wagon does. it has less power and much less torque.

no, that would be if it was a v8 falcon or commodore doing the skid and not an import

2 * Tt Gallardo's Vs Ams Alpha 12 Gtr
mad082 replied to scarf's topic in General Automotive Discussion
not sure it trolling..... (hoping you are) -
none of us haters ever said that it was slow. that would be naive. our general point is that we don't like it, no matter how fast it is.

IMHO massa deserved the penalty. had it been anyone else coming up the inside of him then he wouldn't deserve it, but he knew it was hamo behind him. i'm sure he knew that hamo was trying to make a move up the inside yet still turned in. that's saying yes when a woman asks you if her outfit makes he look fat and then wondering why she gets shitty.

2 the 2 points in bold, 1: plenty of workshops with good reputations have stuffed up too. mate of mine had his xr6t built by an apparently experienced workshop. long story short, they used stock parts in some vital parts of the engine when they should've used aftermarket ones (wasn't a case of him telling them not to, he handed the car over, told them what final outcome he wanted and for them to make it happen). $20,000 worth of repair bills later he was fighting them in court and has since heard of other people getting similar problems because of the workshop cutting corners. 2: make sure you know what is legal when it comes to recording conversations if you are planning on using it as evidence.
-
they probably do, but not as a 'simulator'. they wouldn't be expecting any sort of realism from it i'm a GT fan and i will gladly accept that as a big flaw. they didn't need to put in 360 different versions of the rx7 or mx5 or even GTR.

make one yourself. if you are going to pay someone to do it then it isn't worth the extremely small gains you will see.
