over the years one of the first mod i will do to a car is to replace the panel filter with K&N drop in replacement filter. Only recently i have proven to myself it save on the fuel on HWY by up to 15% on cruise control. My dad bought a BMW 740IL about a year ago and i replaced the panel filter with a drop in replacement (K&N) by using the onboard computer to tell me how much fuel its using. By changin the panel filter the fuel comsumption actually drop by 14.7%. I took a reading before and after i changed the fileter travelling on the same road, same speed, same weight load and same type of fuel (mobil 98). I have heard people saying that more air into the engine means it will burn more fuel. But as far as i know the way K&N filter works is it straightened the air flow out before it gets to the combustion chamber and the filter let the engine suck in the air easier. Its like OEM filter is like a tissue folded in two twice therefore its thick and harder for the engine to suck the air in. But the K&N panel filter its like a tissue folded into only therefore it makes the engine easier to suck. Less energy wasted. Perhaps SK might be able to explain better. Anpther thing i find that by changing the ECU to Power FC although it produces more power the fuel consumption actually almost stayed the same as before. It also largely depends on your driving style i guess.

i had my tuner installed the ECU for me no probs. I dont have the car with me ATM so i cant check the ECU's code but you sorted it out already thats good. So does the R33 and 34 share the same ECU?

tell ypu guys wat. As you guys know about 2 ,omths agp i wemt amd got ,y car tumed with power Fc . Got the car back and it ran perfect. But from time to time the car will feel like it lost power for a millisecond amd i called racpace which is my tuner. And they said that its the power Fc cos its too sensitive. Its getting reading from the sensors all the time and sometimes the sensors send a blank info to the ECU therefore the "loss of power for a split millesecond. I dont know how true is it though. It doesnt do it all the time though. So...

Well im just thinking to repair that small patch of ruse and repaint it just that small section. Cos its underneath the sideview mirrors so its not really noticeable (difference in paint color.shade) unless you really look for it. Pluius my car got the paint protection on it so i dont want to waste it by painting the whole thing. Funny when i sple to JB he ask me the first question who will be driving this car? And i reply only me!! . And hes said well thats makes life much more easuer withoutthe Misuss in the equation LOL. But i told him that i want the car to be streetable and my traget is only 300-350AWKW. abd he said single plate with increase clamp load should do the job fine. Soo... Just wondering if we were to pay a mech to install the clucth how much it would have cost in labor for removing and installing the clutch?

How many ks or years did the clutched last you guys? RBNT and Darrin? <ineshas done 75k is still doing fine my tuner just ask me not to launch it from a standstill. Let me know. BTW has anybody fiexed the rusts that might be present underneath the sideview mirrors?

for a HD clutch frrom Jim Berry will cost you probably abt $8-900 with a swap over for your old ones. Race pace my tuner is able to offer me for A HD clutch installed for about $1.5k with no swap over. To tell you the truth i still have no idea which one to trust. Dont launch the car from a stand still with a std clutch. You will wreck the clutch. Soz cant help you im not in melbourne ATM. Btw whos doing the compliance for you? Err Kamikaze?

im pretty dead sure the mech meant AFMs. cant be the airbox unless the car was crashed before and crack the ir box

i think you better take the car in to a tuner who knows RB 26 engine well for him to check on it ASAP. dont try to save $$ on these things by trying to find the problem yourself. just to be on the safer side

i heard from somewhere before that they are realsing the 3.5ltr turbo engine whoch is like the current Rb26. Ther will whack it into the new skyline and this 350z will get that engine as well.
