  1. Meh, driving a gtr is like driving a barge to me.
  2. My guess it was caused by excessive heat as that bottom piece is made out of plastic. Or perhaps someone has hit that area?
  3. My turbo keeps getting louder as time goes by so Andy is correct. I've also driven a fair few Stageas and they all have their different levels of noise, but it's not always the case that higher kms the louder it gets. I can't wait unit it hits crescendo and pop she goes!
  4. Dotars do not get a copy of the auction sheet. It's purely up to the importer you bought it from whether they will supply it or not, but that's of course if the car is bought from the auction.
  5. I'll try and get a pic of mine lit up as I have the white faced one. If you like it, I've got a brand spanking new cluster for sale as well too.
  6. I will have these on sale until stocks last. Most have been sold already.
  7. Other pearlers worth mentioning as well. 2001 M Spec (well it's claimed to be but I doubt it's the real deal), 165,000kms, grade 3.5/B --- sold for 2 mil yen http://ayp5.nihoncars.com/cars/37792099/0/..._sl__nynO3l.JPG http://ayp5.nihoncars.com/cars/37792099/0/..._sl__nynO3x.JPG
  8. We were all talking about the R34 GT-R that had 380,000kms on auction last week (or was that 2 weeks ago). Well it was sold today for 1,560,000 yen which equates to about $18,500 in aussie dollars. Then add the usual FOB, freight, taxes, compliance, and other misc fees and you will have yourself a GT-R for under 30 grand. I can't wait until she lands on our shores, so everyone stay tuned for this baby. http://ayp5.nihoncars.com/cars/37815341/0/...T__sl__6yyn.jpg http://ayp5.nihoncars.com/cars/37815341/0/..._sl__6yy%3F.jpg http://ayp5.nihoncars.com/cars/37815341/0/...T__sl__63y3.jpg
  9. Having been to court with a solicitor that specialised in traffic infringements when I was 18 years old (and that was a bloody long time ago), I can tell you that your chances will be 1000% better with a legal representative. I didnt get off as I pleaded guilty, but my punishment was a lot more lenient. Also a huge contributing factor on the outcome is how your driving history is like. That's the first thing the magistrate will look at, before even a word is spoken.
  10. I drove both cars before making my decision. Although I think the C34 looks nicer on the outside, the M35 wins hands down on all other attributes. These days you can secure an M35 for under 20 grand easy. What other modern wagons can beat that in terms of value, performance and features?
  11. Nearly all cars look a million dollars in a picture. But that car had a lot of issues but Johnny (the new owner) stuck with it, got nearly everything fixed and sold the car. I don't want to defame that car just in case the new owner is here. You can get an original, clean 99-00 R34 with higher kms for about 45-47k complied (based on a 3 mil yen fob price), or with lower kms would be a bit more. Or you can buy something like this for 45k already here. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...6&silo=1011 Actually when I looked at that car closely, I noticed it's my old gtr lol. I imported that one but it's not a grade 5 car so the seller is telling porkies... still it was a good clean example, grade 4/B, totally stock except for the Zeal coilovers.
  12. Well firstly, I knew of a guy who bought an R34 GTR from Melb for 38 grand but.... It was a real shitter. I saw the car after he drove it back to Sydney. Personally I wouldnt have even paid 8 grand for it. But a simple answer to your question is you'll get a very nice late R33 or a very very average R34 for your money. If you really have your heart set on an R34, why don't you just wait and save a bit more?
  13. I have to add my point. Personally I don't believe that's a very good comparison if they have actually used a 350Z (Z33) car to go against a VQ25DET Stagea. I've driven both an auto 350Z and a PM35 and both cars delivers their power and torque differently. A PM35 is bloody quick off the mark, and surprisingly, I felt it was quicker than an auto 350Z. Why? The gearing on both cars are vastly different. The PM35 felt like it had a shorter gearing than the 350Z, making it spring off the mark better. I've been surprised at how well a PM35 goes compared to an NM35. In city driving, I would actually prefer the naturally aspirated engine than a turbo. The moment you stomp on the gas of a PM35, it just shoots away. Sure the turbo NM35 will develop more power and torque at higher rpm than the VQ35DE, but it's that instant response of an n/a that I'm very impressed with. And so much so the last 3 Stageas that we have sold recently have been PM35's. 2 of the buyers drove both the turbo and n/a cars and both decided the later model Stags drove better. The other buyer was from interstate. But if you're after a Stag with mod potential, then the turbo wins hands down.
  14. A very good thread to start Cam for anyone who is interested in buying an M35 Stagea. I too am surprised and appalled at how much mis-information is out there on these cars, especially from dealers themselves. After all, dealerships who sell them should know know their products. But they don't. Even if they are unintentionally advertising something that's not what is claimed to be, it's the end consumer that will ultimately pay for their mistakes if the buyer is not aware of what they are buying. If you are unsure of what the model is, come in here and ask. Another simple way to tell is check the build plate on the car itself. Check the VIN/chassis number and it should start with NM35 or PM35 or PNM35. A genuine Axis though is a little harder to work out it's authenticity. One of the sure ways is to put the vin number through FAST. And as Cam mentioned, another point to note is that Northshore Prestige Motors is the only importer that can sell the series II Stageas (PM35 or PNM35) with the VQ35DE non turbo engines which were built between 2004 and 2007. So if any other importer is advertising a PM35/PNM35, be careful.
  15. Well any importer can import classics but no one i know of import nostalgia to resell here for several reasons. - Expensive in Japan - Very small niche market - You can most likely buy a car that's here already for cheaper
  16. Honestly I just saw it this morning, what a guess! We actually threw a bid in it but was at 1.5 mil. I told my boss that it will most likely go higher but he said he didn't want to pay more than his bid. lol
  17. Just fyi, the rim on the left are 18s while on the right are 19s.
  18. Hey Michael, I spoke to Christof about this today and he mentioned that they have replaced a switch or mechanism on 2 Stageas in the past. If you call our shop tomorrow and ask for Ben or Christof and tell them about the problem, I'm sure they can give you an answer. Eugene
  19. I have an immac one for $500. I'll pm you pics tomorrow if you are interested.
  20. So the police can't smoke in the cars? I thought everyone smokes there.
  21. Trust me, they will. Any parts can easily to be removed and replaced with better condition parts. I saw the pics of the interior and you can easily see a lot of wear and tear on the most obvious parts.
