Haltech Interceptor For The M35 ( Envy Imports )
mxfly replied to Jetwreck's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I'd say f**k your wife, it's your money after all. Well that's what I said to my bitch at least. -
I have an R34 GT-R and a Tommi Makinen. The Evo is a rough and raw car to drive on the street. The plastics are super cheap and crap, the turning circle is like a whale, suspension is rough as guts. But it's a car for the purist. It's relatively light and nimble, the power is quite astounding for a 100% stock car, Recaros are awesome, brakes are superb. You can really push it into a corner and would obviously understeer, but can get out quite easily. Put some simple mods on and it's a real weapon for such a small car. A GT-R is similar to an Evo, but with attributes that clearly differentiate from the Mitsu. The interior build is not perfect but hell of a lot better than an Evo. The car is heavier, but in a good way that it feels much more solid and stable at high speeds. Brembos are ok but can do with better pads and fluid. The Atessa works and works wonderfully well. Steering is nice and crisp and precise. Point it and it will go there, much like the Evo really. The sweetest apsect of a GT-R is the RB26. Such a phenomenal motor and responds well to simple mods, but whack a set of 2530s or equivalent on and you have a magical formula. Easily punching out 330+ kw at all fours with the right mods and still retaining stock bottom end, a GT-R is truely incredible to drive. Add a set of 4.11 or 4.5 final drives and it's like you've added another 50kw to the car. And a GT-R turns heads on the road, while an Evo barely raises an eyebrow. When people look at the Evo, they think it's a riced up boy racer.

Why Are R34 Gt-r Still So Expensive
mxfly replied to rehab2010's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
People who owns one thinks their car is worth a million dollars, while people who are looking to buy one believes it's worth 2 cents (but once they buy one, it's worth a million dollars). So what's the real world value of these cars? Although there is no definitive answer to that question, a general consensus is that a car is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for. Btw, that yellow V Spec for 40k sounds like a great buy, BUT you never know unless it's inspected. It could be the biggest piece of shit, or it could be the best bargain in the world. -
I got Nth Shore Prestige to get it in for me. They're in Balgowlah, Syd.

You will be hard pressed with finding a used one. When my left front wheel bearing shat itself, I just bought a new one.

Need Help From All The R34 Boys And Girls
mxfly replied to GUN_METAL_GTR32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
That's easy as I have compared them both side by side. There are no similarities between both cars as the colours are all different. Also the stitching on the centre console cover on a GTR is different than on a GTT. But apart from those attributes, they are pretty much the same. The climate control console and vents appear to be the same though. -
Given the age of these cars, more and more will come up with some form of bingle in its lifetime. No doubt there will be accident-free cars around but will become more harder to find as time goes past. I dont find any problems with purchasing a repaired car, as long as it's fixed correctly and not involved in a big accident like having strut towers to be repaired.

That's awesome, first time i've seen an aftermarket turbo for an M35. Are you changing the exhaust as well?

Do you have xenons? Might be a switch to dip the headlights. -
2002 Gtr R34- Whats It Worth?

If there's a dollar to be made, the Chinese will do it. No, make that 10 cents.

I can do one better. I turned up at Nissan headquarters in Homebush in my Stagea to pickup some stuff and I had to go out the back in the loading dock. A bunch of guys in the warehouse saw the car and came up to check it out. They all looked very curious as obviously have never seen one before, and then one guy asks me if it was really a Nissan. I was going to be a smart ass but refrained myself. I just said yep.

That's because you were in those sexy pin stripes

2002 Gtr R34- Whats It Worth?
mxfly replied to brembogtr's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Very rare to see a VSpec II built in 2000 as they were made very late in the year. I think it was the last 2 months they were made in 2000 -
If you're willing to travel to Vic, take a look at this one. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=12292FFFF5F0 This one is in Syd and sounds damn good, but maybe a little out of your price range. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=12292FFFF5F0

VS II's did come out in 2001 as well and they definitely had the naca duct. How did the inspection go? -
Some raws workshops still remove the xenons in Sydney so you have to be careful. With importing your own car in, I'd rather search locally first and if you can't find a good one, then look into importing.

Johnny, you mean VSpec II's have aluminium pedals while VSpec's dont.

It's not easy to replicate the extra 2 sensors on the mfd, someone has tried to do it before and he found out it was a headf**k to do it. Another easy easy thing to check is the rear diff cover. If it's finned it's a real VSpec. If not then you know it's not a real VSpec. Not many people can be bothered to change that part.
-
You can have an RB rebuilt at 20,000 or 200,000kms. It all depends on how the motor was treated. Back to your pursue of happiness, try and get at least a V Spec. There's a lot more bits and pieces added to those models. Some that I can think off top of my head. - rear carbon composite diffuser is so nice to have - front plastic diffuser - 2 more readouts on the MFD, intake temp and something else shit I should know this.. - different tuned Attesa system - more active diffs - finned rear diff cover for better cooling I would have loved to own a VSpec II as the updated interior and carbon bonnet is so nice to have, but in the end I found a purple Vspec that I could not resist. Plus, saving myself at least 10 grand that I could spend on wheels, exhaust, turbos, etc. Imo, there's a huge difference between a standard and VSpec car, but not that much difference between a VSpec and VSpec II, so my suggestion is to find a nice VSpec and have some dollars left over for your first stage mods such as rims, coilovers and exhaust.

Hi, I just wanted to let people know what happened last night with us. Being the weekend, we generally stay with my in-laws who lives just 4-5 minute drive from us in Wahroonga. Quite often, people are coming in and out of the house and between 6 and 7pm last night, there was no one in the house. When my mum in law returned, she realised the house had been burgled. Thankfully, not much was taken and only a few pieces of jewelery were missing. All electronic goods were untouched, something which I found surprising as there is a nice lcd tv in the house. I called the police to file a report, they arrived about 3 hours later. Obviously they couldn't do much. They just asked some questions and knocked on neighbouring properties to ask if anyone saw anything. I also asked them a few questions, to which they were happy to discuss with us. What they told me was quite alarming. Between North Sydney and Hornsby, the police have attended an average of 10 break and enters into private dwellings per day. The hotspots for these crimes are in Killara, St Ives, and Wahroonga. A house in Killara was broken into last night while the residents were away for an hour. The thieves managed to crack into a safe as well, suggesting these criminals are professionals and not just short term amateurs. In some cases, the affected homes have experienced unusual calls during the night when the caller would just hang up, perhaps suggesting they are checking whether anyone is at home. The general force of entry is through a rear window, either breaking the glass or prying the window open. Last thing they told me was that burglars have been caught in the past, and in one instance, the thief had a note written with all the addresses he was intending to target. This suggested the criminal had done some research on their targets Today we found out that a friend of ours who also lives in Wahroonga, their next door neighbour was broken into last Friday. So has anyone experienced these crimes lately, or know of anyone who does? Obviously I'm particularly interested in our area, but I guess burglars can break and enter into any suburb they wish. I urge everyone to be more aware of suspicious activity with cars or people on your street. I believe it's also good to speak to your neighbours as well so they can be aware of what's happening. It shits me having to realise these farking low life scums can break into our homes and violate our properties and lives. We all need to be aware of what's happening around us in this day and age and protect our families and what is rightfully ours.

That's a beautiful finish on the car, and Mark is a top bloke as well. He was very helpful when I made enquiries with him years ago. I wanted to use his services back then but because he was booked up for weeks, I decided to learn to detail myself. By the way, did he put a synthetic sealant on the paintwork before the final wax? A sealant is what gives durability to all that hard work. If there's no sealant, all that polishing effort will be wasted as once the wax evaporates, your paint will be again exposed to the elements.
