  1. That car had a whole load of problems when my boss had it, and it was the main reason why he sold it. Since it was one of the first in the country, it was a "guinea pig" car for conversion. The mould of the dash was not so great so you could see alignment issues. Also had a while heap of electrical problems. And to fork out $30,000 for the conversion, you think they would do a better job.
  2. Back in the early nineties, my boss imported one of the first Dodge Vipers into the county. He wanted to make sure the car was 100% protected so a container was used. But on top of that, a wooden frame was built when the car was already inside the container. when it arrived, we went to the docks and unloaded the car, but before that, it took us half a day to remove the frame. I thought it was a bit excessive but at least it did the job. The car was later sold to Rene Rivkin.
  3. Well that all depends on what ppl are trying to sell their Nurs for. There's owners who are trying to sell for 90-100k + and then there's others who are selling for very realistic prices. One good example I see on Carsales is an M Spec Nur asking for 73 grand. Although the mileage may be a little high for such a car, it nevertheless represents great value imo. Try and find a similar car in Japan these days. M Spec Nurs rarely come up for auction. Oh another point. They are not old classic cars, but will surely become classics in the future due to their very limited production run. M Spec Nurs, only 250 rolled off the production line. If I had the finances, I would try and secure one today as I have absolutely no doubt they will appreciate over time.
  4. Ahh nah mine was drive on-drive off.

  6. I dont have a problem with driving the gtr as a daily. It's a great sports car and it begs to be driven. And my g/b is nice and smooth as well
  7. That's probably because they send it off for another company to fix, and put a mark up on it.
  8. Thanks mate, I do intend to bring her along in an event so hopefully i'll see everyone there
  9. Although I do believe prices will continue to fall, at what rate would be anyones guess. it may fall 10% a year, or it may fall 1%. But another factor to consider is the exchange rates. Primarily, due to our ever slowing economy, it's doing no favours for seeing the yen going back up and beyond 100. Btw here's my car with its first official shot in the country
  10. I have now Kristian This is the breakdown of the costs. 3 mil yen fob = about $30,220 aud Duty - $2949 Sea freight - $1058 GST on import - $3337 Port charges - $142 Misc custom charges - $57 AQIS inspection fee- $196 Quarantine cleaning - $242 Customs agency fee - $160 Local towing to workshop - $132 Compliancing - $3500 Rego, CTP, custom plate - $1100 New battery - $340 Total - $43,433 Although I couldve purchased a car already here, I wanted a genuine car with genuine kms. None of this 20,000km junks i keep seeing around with no documented history, and certainly not genuine kilometers that's for sure. My car has full documented history since new with real 69,000kms, 4 sets of keys, the usual Nissan manuals, and most importantly, an accident and rust-free car. Sure it has a couple of door dings and some bushes needs replacing, but that's expected from a car this old and with those kms.
  11. It's a bummer that you have to wait so long to get your car inspected. Well my one got registered today and thankfully, I dont have to go through that shit, otherwise it wouldve pissed me off badly as well. Pm me when you get yours on the road and we'll meetup for sure. Im in the Hornsby area. cheers Eugene
  12. Great stuff Jo told me a lot about that car even before it landed and judging by what she told me, she wasnt far off. That car is mint! So congrats on your new GTR. My one which is practically identical to yours besides the LMGT4's, has just been complied and hopefully should get it on Saturday, if not early next week. Hope to see you out on the street!
  13. According to one of the guys there, the approval has gone through and they expect the official documents to be available by Monday next week. They will only be selling brand new R35's at $175k a pop.
  14. You wouldnt happen to use Powerplay to import your car? If that's the car in your avatar, i've seen an exact one from there.
  15. Well finally the car has arrived and going through compliance atm but the battery is caput. The guy who's doing the compliance is having problems trying to find a replacement battery. Can anyone advise of a suitable battery to use? Apparently, it has to be a sealed unit due to the location. I have no idea if it's true or not.
  16. I actually saw a Cube last weekend. I couldnt believe my eyes. It was a light creamy greeny colour. Wanted to ask the driver how he got it imported but he sped away. Those cars make such a presence on the road too!
  17. Did you win the car on the 12th? I saw it going for auction and thought it was almost exactly like my car
  18. I have one and although i thought it was a bit thin, it's quite tough and durable. And it's so good to have when you need to use your boot to hold dirty things. You just take out and wash it.
  19. Great stuff! Make sure to post some pics when you get a chance
  20. Which part of the brakes hit the rims?
  21. Christ I dunno how I wrote NM34, perhaps I was thinking about the R34 coming.. lol I'm not sure about the boost running between the models. Some ppl have said theirs run much less that 14 psi while others have seen their running similar boost to mine. So I guess it will be good to get to the bottom of this hey.
