Yeah I didn't think mine was anything special. I will have to look after the front bar then. Its all plastic too not fibre. hmm maybe i shouldn't butcher the front bar when putting the front mount in. what ya think.

Hey all. I found out recently that my ecu had been modified while it was in japan (yeah and whos hasen't). They put a "Central 20, SPL Computer Brain" ecu chip in it. My questionis does any one know anything about these ecu's. I would like to get it reprogrammed but don't know where to go for this. I hear that these ecu's are not that common and not many tuners do these units. Is there a reason for this. What makes them so much harder to reprogram. I amm starting to consider changing it back to stock or getting a new ecu such as PFC.

Hey thanks. Yeah I have no idea if it is an aniversary model. The car came with that front bar when i got it fromm japan. Looks nice tho as u don't see to many with the same one. The dealer guy said it was a series 3 bar but i had a few others tell me different so i got no idea. i might post a pic of a front view to show the front better.

Hey i just put two amps in my R33 behind the back seat in that empty space next to the battery. It all fits in neat and when i put the trim back on you will not even know they are in there. I will post some pics later. Only prob i am having at moment is with interference from the alternator. I think this it because of my wire locations with speaker and battery wires too close together and some crossing.

Hey I know a temporary fix if ya want to get the car somewhere that involves some traveling , and it involves a plastic bag and race tape. I broke a boot on my subaru and just wrapped it with a thick type of plastic bag and taped the ends so that it covered the joint and kept dirt out and what ever grease left, in. I was surprised how long it lasted too.

Ouch that would suck. I will keep that in mind as i am thinking of leaving my car at my mums place for a few months while i go away for work. I parked my car at my dads place once near a tree and the f'ing tree was dropping sap down. My car had like splatters of resin all over the car. That took some elbo grease to clean.

Yeah it took me hrs to clean all the car. Had to take all wheels off to clean inside of rims. All brakes had to be cleaned, sand washed off all the shockers. There was half the track sitting on top of my exhaust cannon. skirts all were full of sand adding to the weight of the car. Basically just put the car on stands and then got under there with the pressure cleaner to get all the shit off. Note to self. Stay away from dirt roads and mud patches.

Yeah i hate that rusting on the brakes after you wash the car. I have to take the car for quick drive b4 i give it a polish after washing cos the dust will settle on the my nice polished surface if i don't.

Hmm I guess that no one has heard of this type of upgrade chip. Well can anyone tell me where they normally connect up the computer to change the fuel map etc.

Hi I was just wondering if any one out there has or know anything about a r33 ecu upgrade chip called "Central 20" its something like that. My car came with the standard computer modified with this chip. I wish to know if it is readily programable. Also where do they need to plug the computer in to program these. A guy at my local tuning place said that they could possible reprograme it for me but he said that a what they usually do over in japan is cover the circuit boards in resin after programing to prevent any tampering. I have dismantled the computer and it has no sign of this type of tamper protection. Inside i see the after market chip (a square IC). Do they take this out to program. The reason I need to know how to change this is that i ran my car on the dyno and turns out that it is running very rich. The guy at the local tuner says the computer would have been set up for jap fuel etc. Also recons that they must have had the boost up high. My car is all stock except the exhaust and upgraded comp. I need to do something about this cos i only seem to be getting 211 HP which is low considering that a stock as a rock skyline should be round 220HP. Any feed back would be great.

Yeah this guy i work with hates drifting. Says that people do drifting cos they can't do circuit racing. He recons that i should get a v8 or something for drifting. I tell him the reson people prob dont use v8s cos they are heavy and don't wip round the corners like the smaller cars. I was at winton raceway on the wkend and there was a mixture of cars. The v8's were in all the events but for some reason they all didn't want to have a crack at the drifting? i have NO idea why. Only one guy in a v8 gemini took it on, and he was not doing very well. spun out many times.

Hi just wondering what most of you guys call people that hate 4 & 6 cyl turbo cars. I am talking about those V8 people that have only one view with that being V8's. I personally have a appreciation for all types of cars but I don't diss others for their choice of car and engine. I just simply say that its not really my type of car. A guy at my work is like a V8 nut and calls ne thing less a POS. I like to call him a redneck hick. what do u call them?

Hey hey there is my car. I saw the person taking that top pic in the car behind me. Was looking in the mirror and said to my mate "that dudes got a camera i think n taking a pic". Good stuff. I will have to keep an eye out for future cruises.

Insurance depends alot on your age and driving history i think. I have insurance through Just Car Insurance. I have a R33 GTST and it cost me about $1100 for full comp cover. I am 22 at the moment. Also i have never had an accident or any claims ("touches wood"). Excess is quite high though. I am still farked if i hit something. have to fork out for all these excesses, like $1800 or so i think.

No i am not a member of SAU yet but would possibly like too. I live out in gippsland and I am not sure i would make good use of my member ship if i joined. Is a bit far to travel all the time to participate. Depends on how much extra money i have at the time. I am in melb currently so i should easily be able to make it.
