  1. I put a single Din cd player in my car then got a blank din spacer and cut holes in it and fitted three gauges in there under the cd player. Looks good i think. I will get a pic posted up if your interested.
  2. I replaced the rocker cover seals in mine when i did the major service. Mine was leaking tho. When i pulled the old rubber seal out it did feel a bit hardened. But new seal kit was quite cheap so i just placed it. The kit i got came with rocker seals, moon seals, and all new rubber grommets for the screws that hold the cover on. I would prob put a cover over the cams while you have the covers off. Also watch that those stupid gromments that go under the screws dont fall off the rocker cover and end up in the engine. I started getting worried when i counted the grommets and came up one short. Thought that it might have dropped into the engine or something. When i was cleaning up i found it under the car. Must have fell through the engine bay onto the ground. Lucky for me. I didn't really want to fish it out of the engine. G luck
  3. Yeah i was thinking it would be good to have a small club or something in the gippsland area. If there is enough people round that want to meet up it would be good. I dont really know any other skyline owners round here.
  4. Hey. Yeah i live near morwell. I have been to a few cruises. Just been waiting for another good one to come up. I see that GOR cruise thats coming too. Looks alright. Will see how much $$ i have to spare round that date. Just brought a motorbike so a little poor at the moment. Might catch ya on a cruise sometime. later
  5. Hey all Just wondering if there are any people here from the gippsland area. I live near the latrobe valley area and was just wonderin if there are any small skyline clubs round here or wether there are any people that have skylines meets in this area. I seen quite a few skylines kicken round and just wondering if these people are on these forums. Cheers
  6. Yeah i know i will have to give the rest of it a go. Dunno if i can be bothered pulling it all apart again tho. I will see how it goes.
  7. I just used a general purpose metal cleaner for all metals. But i think that i will buy some aluminum cleaner and see how that goes. After i sanded my covers down they didn't really look that good. It was only after i hit them with some metal polish that they came up with such a great shine.
  8. New pic added ^^^^^
  9. Hey I also need another key made for my car but i was thinking maybe i could upgrade the lock in it perhaps. Is it possible to fit anotther lock out of a newer nissan to the R33. I just feel that the current ignition lock in my car is a bit of a weak point in my security. I thought of just adding in a key code pad or something as a bit of extra security instead.
  10. I would recommend maybe just trying to polish a small area where you wont see, just to see what it does. I did the inner section that gets covered by the coil pack cover. When it looked good on there i decided to do the whole lot. I was going to do the cast intake section too but i think i might have to get some air tools first to make the job easyier and less time consuming.
  11. Yeah i am interested to see how others go. I will have to stop being a slack ass and get a pic up of the whole finished product for ya all. Will hopefully have that tonite.
  12. Yeah i love it. Its such an inprovement to the engine bay. I was thinking originally to just powder coat the covers but while i had them off i just started having a muck around sanding them a bit to see what it might look like. It looked fairly good so i did the whole thing. I will have to get a shot of my engine bay now. i have already repainted a few things metalic blue and now the rocker covers really start to bring out the bling.
  13. Yeah you can make it look like mine too if you wanted. I will have to get a pic of the whole finished product posted up here. I have it all back together and going now and it looks sweet as. To get the finish i got i just used wet and dry sand paper and heap of elbow grease. I started out sanding it all down with some 180 grit papaer. I prob spent the most time on this grade because i had to get rid of alot of that white corrosion stuff on the surface and pitting. After i was happy with that grade i then went to 320 grit, then 600 grit, and finally topped it all off with a good sanding of 1000 grit. After doing all this it still seemed a bit dull and you could see some scratches still in it. I then found some Metal Polish paste and rubbed it down good with that. while using the metal polish, there is alot of black crap that comes off the aluminum. You should see it all starting too look alot shinnier then buff off the residue with another clean rag. After doing this it looked more mirror like and most of the fine scratches were not visible anymore. Oh by the way, it would be advisable to do it with some sort of power sander or something because my hands were buggered after that. I didn't have any power tools and it took me around 6hrs to do them both. I am not sure tho how long the shine will last. I will just keep polishing every now and then and see how it goes. I will post some more pics soon.
  14. Hey all. I am in the middle of doing a major service on my car n i thought i might polish up the rocker covers while i have them off. Here are some pics showing how good they cam up. I just used some wet and dry sand paper and some good ol elbow grease. But bugger that i am not going to be polishing another set of covers. Took me bout 2.5 hrs of sanding/polishing for each rocker cover. What ya all reckon?

  16. Hey all. I am just in the middle of changing the timing belt on my rb25det and i wanted to change the cam oil seals as well because they came in the kit that i got. I have got the exhaust cam off but now i am stuck trying to get the intake one off. I have taken the rocker cover off and i was holding the cam with a spanner and using the breaker bar on the intake bolt. But this dam thing wont come undone. Should i just go for a huge ass lever and keep trying. I am affraid that i might damage something if i get too crazy. Any ideas on what ya reckon is the best idea. Thanks
  17. Hey mate. I think thats the way its mean to work. My headlights do the same thing. When i have it on low beams i only get the two outter lights lit. (think its the outter ones). THen when you go to high beam the outter lights turn off and the inner ones turn on. I am sure that they are not mean to both be on at the same time. Hope that helps.
  18. PM sent
  19. LOL why is that. My dads got a triton V6 3ltr. Seems to be a nice 4wd. Dont think he has had any trouble with it yet.
  20. Hey thanks for the info. Hey SECURITY, what year is that RZ model hilux 3ltr. I didn't realize that there was different 3ltr models. I will have to also check out to make sure that the towing vehicle is heavy enough for towing what i want. I might start having a closer look at the hilux then. Cheers.
  21. Hey all. I am hoping to buy a car to start racing in the not to distant future and i dont want it to be registered so i will have to tow it to track days etc. My problem is i dont know what sort of vehicle i should be looking at for towing a car trailer, race car, tools, spare wheels etc. I am aiming to get a ute of some description so that i can put a motorbike comfortably on the back as well. So just to clarify all that, I need a ute that can: tow a car trailer and car every now and then, fit a motorbike on the back nicely, have pleanty of power while towing, and only cost round $10k - $15k or so. I have been looking online at various utes that might be suitable for my application. Here are the ones i have been thinking of. - Holden Rodeo 3.2ltr petrol, space cab or crew cab. (Nice and cheap and looks like a good buy) - Toyota hilux 4cyl 3ltr Diesel, 4wd, four door, - Toyota hilux 2.8ltr turbo Diesel 4wd, four door - Toyota Landcruser 4.2ltr diesel. (This is a bit high for what i want, might make loading a motorbike onto the back, a bit hard) - Mitsubishi Triton 6cyl 3ltr petrol, 4wd, four door. - Nissan Navara 4cyl 3.2ltr petrol, dual cab. - Nissan Navara 6cyl 3ltr petrol, dual cab. - Holden VS/WB/HZ V8 ute. - Ford 6cyl 4.2ltr ute - Ford 6cyl 4.0 ltr ute. Hmm yeah i been looking at quite a few ones. I kinda want something that has good towing power but wont be a huge pig on fuel. I also intend on using the vehicle as my every day car when not used for towing etc. What is your opinion? Thanks
  22. Hmm sorry mate. I have kinda got attached to this bumper now. Will the importer dude sell you that bumper he has on that car. Surely a good offer of $$$ would get it ok. That bumper does have a large hole in the front for a fmic. My only problem is that i dont really want to be butchering up the bumper to fit one in. I am trying to find slim FMIC round 50mm thick to fit in there. I might have to look at just getting a better SMIC to avoid having to cut anything.
  23. LOL. yeah i really like this bumper. I am just affraid that some dumb fark will hit me and wreck it. As a matter of fact i have had some people already offering to buy it off me. But i dont think that i will part with this one. I like it cos its plastic and doesn't crack if i accidently hit the drive way. Surely there is somewhere that sells replica bumpers. I figure it must be a rare type cos i have yet to see in person a skyline with the same bumper. Does anyone know the value of these bumpers?
  24. Sorry dude when i brought the car it already had that front bumper attached. I have no idea where you can get the same bumper. You might be able to find a fibreglass copy of it somewhere. Mine is the factory original. When i saw my car at the dealer with that bumper i thought it looked very good and seemed to make it stand out a bit more from the majority of skylines out there. I feel that it looks a lot nicer on the series 1. Hope ya get find somewhere to buy one. I have not found any sites or places that sell that bumper.
  25. Hey here is my series 1 with series 2 or 3 bumper. Not sure exactly. I think i got a series 2 GTR factory bumper.
