On the back of the car i put the stands under the frame of the suspension. There is kinda of solid frame work around the drive shafts near the diff. Like U shaped. But yeah i just lift up the back with the jack under the diff or something then slip the stands in under this frame work. sometimes i just lift the car up n put bricks under the wheels then let it back down so that its then higher up off the ground. Depends on what you want to do. I am starting to consider gettins some ramps to get the car off the ground faster and less mucking round. You could put the stands under teh chassis or something. I do that sometimes but thost shitty stands from auto barn dont seem to have a wide enough top on them and it kinda starts bending teh chassis tubing. I also put a block of wood between the trolley jack and the chassis if lifting there just to ensure i dont damage the car.

Sick Of Owning A Modified Car And The Associated Hassle
jrocket replied to MANWHORE's topic in New South Wales
I like nice things and nice cars. It just seems that the police want you to stay inline with all the other sheep out there. -
I always double clutch down thru gears in my car. My gear box in my subaru 4WD lasted me bout 420,000km ish before i swapped it out by driving in this style. Mydad used to have the car so he done bout half of the kms but i stretched its life out by always double clutch. Only reason i took gear box outta the car is because the syncro's were screwed and was starting to get a bit of a handfull to use. Also i had a spare kicking round with only 150,000kms on it, so it only made sense to change the rooted one out. But yeah i would easy make it too 500,000 kms if i kept up with the double clutchin.

I have got a couple of those 30cm slimline Cold Cathode tubes off ebay in the "computer section". They are easy to wire up and give off good light. By the way i only got them to light up the area where ur feet go to help ya see where ya feet go at night when ya open the doors. Also i replaced the boot light with a brighter Cold Cathode tube also. Makes it a hell of a lot easyier to see what ur doing in there. Specially when ya have to play with amp settings etc at night. I think that they can be usefull. I intend on getting some more to put under the bonnet so that if ya have the hood up at night workin on the car you can see what the hell is going on. Good when used in a practical sense. My 2 C

Hey I recon you should try the good ol bread knife. Nice and wavey blade pattern for maximum damage and bodily harm. PS. What out you dont get it stuck in between the ribs. Might be a hastle pulling it out.
-
Yeah thats true. I can't really argue that. The other two things that he pinged me for where a bit of BS i think. You recon that if someone had no record and was driving sensible and was giving no reason to get pulled up, that they might be a little easy on ya. The thing that annoys me is that he gives me out $400 worth of fines for everything. My mate gets caught for speeding and only gets $200 odd bucks. Dont think i quite understand how that works. Would have been cheaper for me IF i was breaking the law.

Yeah I think its a load of Bull sometimes. I too have been a victim. On way home from work n there was a unmarked car at this cross intersection. I didn't notice him there at the time and just turned right and was heading home. He races up to me and stops me. The second i got outta my car he started with the attitude talking real rude to me. At this stage i never even opened my mouth. He claims that my car didn't roll (body roll) much when i turned the corner back there. Someone must have forgotten to tell me that its far safer for your car to be rolling all over the place. Ne ways he starts pushing on my car saying its too stiff blah blah blah. This car has passed RWC twice with this suspension and i asked about it at the time n they recon its all legal. Unfortunately a exhaust rubber was buggered and the pipe was sagging down a bit so claims car is "too low". Didn't notice that this happened so my problem. As i just got he car a month ago it only really just had "legal" tread left at the time of purchase so i was looking at having to get new ones soon after. As i was a bit strapped for cast after the purchase of the car i had to wait a couple of pays to afford the new bags. I had been around and got all my quotes on tires and was 2 days off having the money. This officer just goes "your tires are too low on tread". I then tell him that i am buying new tires in 2 days n showed him all the prices n quotes that i had gotten. He just says " i dont give a shit about that". So yeah just another one of the nice police members that i have encountered. PS i never broke any laws when i was driving at the time n i have no previous record. Clearly seems that if they want ur ass your outta luck.

I am just curious dude. Was your shed locked. How did they gain entry to your shed. I am always worried bout someone snooping round my joint. So I covered up all the windows and have chainned the double door closed and chained the side door shut. Hopefully people get the message to F**k off. I usually close the gate into the drive also and lock that. But it still just doesn't seem enough. What do some of you people do.

Yeah just added a few pics for people to see how its going.

Whining Noise When Clutch Out
jrocket replied to Fat_Tony's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I think that the sound that you are hearing is from the clutch bearing. When you have the clutch in neutral the fingers of the clutch might be just scraping on the bearing. And when u push the clutch in, it (bearing) engages with the fingers n stops slipping on them. I have a similar problem in my subaru. I put a new clutch in but i think i stuffed up by not putting enough grease on things. The clutch bearing seems to be still touching the fingers of the clutch when i have the car in neutral. I can;t seem to change it cos if i losen off the clutch cable i can't get enough throw to disengage it. Don't take this as gospel. It is just my ideas. -
Just A Quick Question
jrocket replied to jrocket's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hmm sorry guys I meant the bolt spacing eg skyline something like 114mm. sorry -
Anyone ere know off the top of there head the stud size for a RX7 series 4 or 5. Its for a mate he got no idea. THX

Crap. would be a good word to describe the stock speaker setup. In my car S1 R33 they were all 6inch clarion brand speakers that were around 30watts max each i think. I would recommend replacing them with the same size speakers if you dont want to muck around with cutting holes etc.

Yeah the work seems to be A1 but the time taken is ridiculous. I am painting it black again with a hint of blue pearl in it. I have also got some GTR rear pods for it so should look the part when its done.

Hey all. Well I was in an accident in January when some biatch ran into me and f'ed up my car good. Its been 4 months now without the car which sux. My panel beater takes the award for slowest c#nt out there. Well just a few pics to show you what it looks like now. After the accident Pulling it apart Getting really hacked up now. New sections pinned in place and cut to size. Welding started and new after market lights trial fitted. Getting there. Just sanding and prime etc to be done. Getting back together now. Well just a few to give you all an idea. I will add some more as it progresses and show ya the finished product.

Ah ok now this all makes sense. I thought my front bar must be off a GTR cos it looked so similar to ones i seen on a gtr but it is still slightly different to ones that you see on most r33's. Soon i will have the rear GTR pods fitted to my car so should look ok. The series 3 bar that I have is okay. It kinda goes under the head lights a bit and makes them stick out over the bumper a small amount but it still looks ok i think.
-
Hmm i think mine might be a series 1.5 as well. I have everything in that list and mine is also a 95 model. Also i heard that the series 1 has this ignition pack on the top of the rocker covers at the back and the series 1.5 and on doesn't or something like that. Mine doesn't have this pack either. Hey is there a series 3 at all. Apparently the bumper that my car had fitted to it was meant to be a factory option for the series 3 or something. Not sure about this tho but its meant to be for a series 2 or something cos it doen't fit as well as the stocker bumper. Its a bit like a 400r bar but bit different. I have yet to see another skyline with the same bar on it.
-
Yeah i just got some of the type of light that you are after. I think they look ok. Same ones from JustJap. They seem to fit nicely and still have a red lens so they kinda look stock and not too ricey. They are really bright which is what I love most about them.
-
Yeah well a bit of custom piping shouldn't cost too much if the outlets from the cooler are on the air box side. Thanks for the info. I will check out just jap now.
-
Does anyone Know where to get a smaller type intercooler. I mean thinner like 50mm or something. That might suit this guys application better. I am trying to do the same thing too, i might go for a thinner cooler and try get something that has both outlets on the same side so that I can connect it back up to the factory piping. Anyone know of places that sell thinner coolers and ones that have outlets on the same side. Also i am not chasing any big HP figures so i think a thinner cooler might just do me nicely.

Yeah mate I understand your problem. I too have been the victim of dumb ass useless drivers. I stop for a tree on the road unable to pass as the tree blocked my side of the road and with oncomming traffic I had to wait for a break to get around it. Then this dumb bitch just runs into the back of me at like 70km/h not even attempting to brake. Mind you this was a straight road with plenty of room to see traffic. I had headlights on andn brake lights burning but this slart still managed to hit me. Now 4 months later and I am still without a car. Think next time I might just take it out on the other driver a bit more and say they tripped.
-
Dam that sux. Yeah i was in traralgon last night. The cops might have been a bit annoyed cos they where dragging someones ass into the cop van at Ryan's Hotel. LOL that was funny. threw the guy onto this bonnet of someones car then three cops cuffed him and away he goes. So maybe they been having a bad night.

Yeah I had my Wii "chipped" too when it took an unexpected trip to the tile floor when it was knocked off the tv. LOL. Works quite well after being chipped.
