  1. Hey good idea. yeah i was thinking of doing something like that too as i thought the factory ignition barrel was prob not the best security around. Hmm just thought of another idea just now. Do you think that going to the trouble of taking the steering collumn apart and spray paint all the wiring black just to make it harder to determine the colours, would be a good idea. I could spray it with some nice sticky body deadner or some crap thats hard to scrape off. That might a good deterant if someone breaks in and trys to find the right colours. will take them longer to scrape off the sh!t to see the colour. Hmm prob going to far i guess.
  2. Yeah i might trim a bit but this bumer i have is meant to be a series 3 bumper that was a factory option. Looks similar to 400r bumper but i think it looks nicer. Might try find a pic of it and post it up. If i shave the aircon fan it should be no dramas getting a 50mm or so thick cooler in. I am also going to get a cooler type that has the outlets on the same side as i want to hook it back into the factory piping and save hasstles of cutting holes in metal work and getting owned my popo. I was under the impression that a thicker cooler was not alway better since the time the air reaches the back of the cooler its significantly warmer and leaving little cooling capacity for the radiator and aircon radiator. Since i am not after rediculas power increases i think i will just go with what fits nicely with minimal fuss. Thanks for the input.
  3. Well visited panel guy today to give him some of my mind and looks like he has done a little more. he claims to have the car finished in a wk (pfft fat chance). I dont take what he says as real any more. well today they had the whole rear suspension and diff out of the car. Also they where taking the side skirts off the car. Prob only been working on the car for few hrs if that. but the whole rear suspension and diff goes to melb to be repaired and checked over by a place called KENCO i think. They are meant to measure and see what was bent in the accident and replace as needed. So might end up with replaced bushes and other parts which will be good. Insurance will be on his ass this friday neways. i will just ring them to check and force them to make him hurry. Little hard now to take the car somewhere cos its missing two wheels. See how the wk pans out.
  4. Err I am talking about intercoolers what did you think i mean. Well i am thinking of going to a FMIC but i dont really want a huge massive thing. I am hoping to get a thin type of cooler prob round 50mm thick if i can find it. ie something like 600x300x50. The reason being is that i dont really want to hack at my front bumper to get one in as its a fairly unique bumper i think. Well i havent seen any other skylines around with the same type plus its a factory option plastic type. I had a look in there and i recon a thiner type might be the go. It would how ever have to be on a slight lean forward (top leaning towards fron of car) to fit nicely. So well prob getting bit off track but i dont feel that i need the normal 76mm thick types cos i dont intend on going nuts with the power. only few things in mind such as safc, dump, k&n air filter, boost controller (prob 10psi max). I already got cat back 3" and modded ecu.
  5. LOL yeah thats what i said soon after it happened. Its a good one to lighten the mood after an accident.
  6. Yeah i was goin fully sic sideways till a tree jumped out and got me yo. Just came outta nowhere. Yeah in the pic it is rust. Seems that a problem with the R33 is in the back section where the rear panel fits on to the sides and the boot floor pan. Nissan should have put a better layer of deadne on the underside of the car around the edges. Seems to have gotten moisture around the overlap area where the spot welds are. I saw some rust from the inside of the boot but was unaware of how bad it really was. But at that rate it would take yrs b4 you would really notice it. The panel guy said that he was going to clean it up and zinc coat it to prevent rusting again. So should be good for rest of its life. i found a few area attually that seem to be suseptable to rust on the car. Have a look where the water runs down the channels at the bottom of the front window under the top of the front guard. I have some surface stuff happening ther that i have to fix. Also yeah i am gunna have to really get into this guy to do something on my car. He seems to have stopped working again. Might show his ass my nice boots with steel inserts.
  7. Well yeah i am with just car. I am very fortunate that i have two cars but its turning into a nightmare fast. My other car is a 1982 subaru 4wd POS and i spent bout $400 on it in the last few months in repairs and parts. And i have also spent hrs and hrs on it keeping it going. I had to replace the clutch and put another gear box in it. Since it was the only car i had at the moment i had only the wkend to do the work. It puts big pressure on me to get the job finished in a short time because if i dont i know that i will be walking to work. I nearly got f'ed last wkend when i was at my dads joint, 5 hrs from home. Then fuel pump decided to shit itself and i got stuck in middle of round about having to push the car and people getting annoyed. But lucky for me that i had a spare pump for it in the shed at dads. But at the moment i am really at the mercy of my subaru. if that stops i am buggered.
  8. Yeah its really starting to shit me. I was understanding at first cos he needed to get parts from japan and they actually had to manufacture some of the structural parts. That took few wks. but in the mean time he did f all. Could have been pulling other sh!t off. His reputation is that he does a really good job but is very slow. But this is BS. I think he drags my job out knowing that its a insurance job and he will definitely get paid at the end and just takes on other work and does that. He just lies to me that he is going to do stuff and does nothing. I think he can't help himself or something. Also he closes early also to avoid seeing me and claims that he always closes round that time. sif. Well i should have done something sooner but i was just about to start a new job when the accident happened so i was concentrating on that. But cos i finshed at 4pm and he "closes" at 4pm it was hard to get there to see him. Had to leave early to catch him. caught him out a few times having done nothing when he preaches that he will have stuff done. Then he starts with the "oh we had people away for a bit" crap and thats why its been a bit slow. Also mysteriously got a sore neck and back in the last few wks and was going to the doctors. I mean how dodgy can you get. Well after calling the insurance company about it they started riding his ass and he finally worked on the car again. he tried to give a whole bunch of crap to them about why the job wasn't done yet and said that "we had people away for a bit". People away. There is only him and his apprentice working there. wtf. He said to insurance that he would prob be finished next Friday. They are going to call and ask about progress then. At this stage i seriously doubt it. I might call them on tuesday or something i think and tell them the progress or lack of. I was worried at first thinking that if i pushed him too much he might do a shit job to just get me outta his hair. I shouldn't have believed him at all from the start. But i am one of those people that trust the word of people. Hmm well i guess that you learn from experience. I have forgotten what it was even like to have that car. Missed so many cruises. Also i only had my new sound system setup in my car for like a week before the accident happened. Well thats my life story
  9. Well not really my ass but my cars ass is gone. Here is some latest pics of my repairs. Man this panel beater guy is one lazy mofo. He has had my car since January. the only reason he has done anything is because i called the insurance company to make him hurry up.
  10. Pfft but wheres the wank factor LOL na prob what your saying is the go. I might just use something like that any ways.
  11. Seen these units at dick smith or jaycar for like $80 or something. I think that you might have to get the card programmer but is fairly cheap security device. I might buy one to have a play around i think. if i don't use it on the car I am sure that i will find anoother use somewhere else.
  12. Ah ok.what car is that on.
  13. Hey all. I was looking in my DICK SMITH catalogue the other day and I saw these radio frequency card readers with programable cards. I had a thought that i could perhaps install one of these in my car behind the dash crash pad and wire it into the ignition system. The idea would then be to hold the access card near the dash to enable the ignition to work then start the car like normal. I would of course set it up with a latching circuit so that you dont have to hold the card there all the time. I think this might be a good idea for just that extra bit of security. For example if someone does break into your car and trash the steering collumn to get to the wiring at the key, it will not work anyway. ie wire it in somewhere harder to access. No one would even know that this exsisted in the car. Well it is just an idea. Do you think this could work?
  14. LOL yeah i figured that your times would be directly related to your weight. I only weigh 62 kg so thats prob a good advantage for me. I hope that if i go to the track a few more times i might get fairly close. They let u you use the faster karts once you reach a certain time. I am unsure if this track record time was done in a faster kart or the standard slow ones. Cos i managed to get my 15.61 sec time in the slow karts. so i guess if i used the more powerfull ones i would have a better chance. Ps where bouts you guys from. is there any skyline clubs or meets in morwell traralgon area that you know of.
  15. GOLD BARS. That should add value to the car very quickly. Or just get parts of the car gold plated. lol.
  16. Yeah fairly small track. but still fun. good for sliding lol. the straight is only like 10mtrs
  17. Hey all. just wondering if anyone on the forums here just happened to have been to the Morwell Indoor GoKarts in Gippsland. I am just wanting to know what was their fastest times on the track. I am currently trying to beat the centres track record which is 14.9 something seconds. I hardly ever go to the karts prob 3 times a yr. But i managed to get a fast time of 15.61 seconds which i recon is good for a newb. Most average people get in the 17 - 18 second ranges.
  18. I think if you have a POD filter intake you can hear the stock one a bit louder.
  19. Lol yeah my mate sent me the link. how bout the exhaust systems. 'O' type exhaust. guaranteed 100% back pressure. lol
  20. Funny Sh!t Hey all just wanted to share this with you. I am sure that its been posted before but here it is again any ways. Just click link above.
  21. Hmm interesting stuff. Well "WogsRus" can you tell me if ya mate sam gets any break thru's with that ECU. I wouldn't mind getting mine done. I just sort of wanted to see if i can do anything with this setup that i have. I don't plan "at this stage" to go too crazy with the mods. Prob just more boost, fmic, panel filter, safc, hiflow "perhaps", dump pipe/turbo to cat section. maybe some forged insides later on. I hope to go nuts on a race car I want to get in the near future. Yeah so if ya mate has some break thru's i would like to hear bout it.
  22. Ok no worrys guys. Thanks for the info. I was considering using a s-afc to rectify my rich fuel mixture problems. I was just unsure if it will work now that my ecu has been messed with. I hope to get a fmic soon and a dump pipe possibly. I will start looking into s afc's then. thankyou for the help.
  23. Man that absolute bs. Can't believe some people. I always put my car in shed under lock and key when i am not using it. I am just to paranoid to leave it out the front. Too many tossers get away with shit like that. Currently I haven't got my car. One of the many shitty drivers out there bloody got me. wiped out the rear corner of my car. Hope ya get some action from the police and the fags across the road get whats coming to them.
  24. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a place i can go to in vic that could perhaps change this ecu to a different type, ie remove the current chip as you can see its just clipped in, and then replace with a different brand chip.
  25. Hey dude yeah i am hoping to install my air fuel gauge soon too. I think you might be able to find the wire for the o2 sensor down near where the computer is plugged in. thats where i am going to try and joint mine in. This would save running wires out to the engine bay where they could get damaged burned. plus it will be neater.
