V35: Power Window Not Going Up
prdreilly replied to greenpool's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
In regard to the Power windew, it's a matter of replacing it. You can buy them from the states shipped to Australia for just under $200. They can be pulled apart and cleaned, but this just buys you a month or so before it dies again. Common Problem unfortunately. If you do a search, you'll find plenty of info on SAU. -

I have a 2004 Premium Manual V35 Coupe. I like the manual, pretty easy to drive to me even in traffic and certainly gives you a feeling of being more in control of the car. Years ago the cost premium for a manual was about $5000 over the auto, but like you say, they are now under $30K, so good value. Best handling car I have driven, way better than BA and BF, XR8 and XR6 Turbo's that I have had. Brembo's are great. Only downsides are the window and CD player issues that are common, as mentioned above. Even if you buy one of these without those issues, there's no guarentee, they won't arise soon after you buy it! Factor it into your budget. I have replaced the drivers window motor, and rather than fix the cd player, fitted a iPod adapter that allows me to control the ipod with the steering wheel controls or Stereo buttons. For the money, they are the complete package to me. I may upgrade mine in a month or so, so if you are in Qld, keep an eye out for it in the For Sale section of SAU.

How do your V35 tyres wear? Evenly, unevenly (if so unevenly by a lot or a little)? Has anyone had a rear wheel alignment for wearing out the inside of the rear tyres?
-
What brand of pads did you go with? Are your brakes Brembo or Nissan?

Sydney Ipod Install Review
prdreilly replied to V35 Matt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
It looks like it has been upgraded to a new model the PA15-NIS, so look for one of those on ebay or just google it and find a place that will ship it to Australia. See the website for details. http://www.usaspec.com -
In The Market For A V35 And Confused
prdreilly replied to LatinR33's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Infiniti's are made in Japan and exported to the US, but obviously have different specs. I have 04 Manual, with no oil issues. But I have changed the drivers side power window motor. Another thought regarding manuals, is that the later models missed out on the Brembo's. -
Going To Do A Oil Change On Tuesday
prdreilly replied to 180 wanabe's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
LOL!!! They did make me send them the filter so that they could check it was the filter. Hahahah! Good one. -
Thanks for that, just note that the link provided is for the G37, in other words the V36 Skyline, not the V35. Similar approach to get to, just the layout of the headlight is different.

Going To Do A Oil Change On Tuesday
prdreilly replied to 180 wanabe's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I just paid $23.06 at my local Nissan Dealer. Regarding Ryco (GUD) I am in the process of seeking compensation. They had a large number of dodgy filters that leaked around the seam. My lasted not quite 5000km before starting to leak. They were paying workshops $100 per car, for me they are offering $19.95 for the filter and about $15.00 for 1 litre of Castrol Edge and some degreaser, in other words they are willing to pay for the parts, but nothing for my time and labour to change over the filters. I am not happy and will be persuing it further. In the mean time, I'll happily pay the extra $3 and buy it from Nissan. See Below for Ryco Recall RYCO OIL FILTERS: Made in Indonesia Z386, Z432, Z442, Z445 and Z547 As a precautionary measure, we request that you identify and cease to fit any Ryco branded oil filters with a part number Z386, Z432, Z442, Z445 or Z547 that were manufactured in Indonesia. The country of origin can be found on the bottom of the inner carton. If you have any of this product please call Ryco Customer Service on 1800 804 541 and we will make arrangements with you to have the defective stock swapped at no cost to you. Last year GUD Automotive experienced a minor quality issue across a limited batch of 65mm diameter spin on oil filters manufactured in Indonesia. The result of the issue was that some filters could weep oil from around the seam of the filter. As the market leader in Automotive Filtration Ryco takes its product quality very seriously. GUD is taking every possible measure to ensure that all suspect stock is removed from the market. All stock of these part numbers shipped from GUD Automotive since October 2009 has been 100% certified. This stock has a country of origin of China so please do not return this stock. GUD have undertaken significant investigations into the cause of this defect and are confident that the issue will not reoccur. Generally if this defect occurs it represents an inconvenience for vehicle owners and fitters, and based on our analysis it is extremely unlikely that engine damage will occur. Should any vehicle in the field exhibit an oil leak then this should be handled through the Ryco warranty policy. A full Ryco warranty statement can be found in the Ryco catalogue or on our website www.rycofilters.com.au We apologise for any inconvenience caused and you can rest assured that Ryco is committed to providing high quality genuine performance filtration solutions. -
As above, then at the back of the headlight, top one for low beam, there is a big round plastic circle lid thingy, that you just turn anti clockwise to open. Then turn the ignitor plug to remove (it is attached to the back of the globe) then remove the spring wires that hold the bulb in place, they are like two metal wires that are spring loaded. Should make sense when you are in there. Then pull bulb out.

Falken 452 Or Falken 912?
prdreilly replied to lankanrascal1's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
When my car was complied, I paid $250 each for the Fronts and $300 each for the rears, so they are great prices. The 452's are soft though, only got 20,000km out of the rears. Has anyone seen prices like that in Brisbane? -
Which Battery For A V35 Gt8 Sedan
prdreilly replied to Birth's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I was not able to get a multipost battery, so fitted the NS60LS with the big posts and had to buy some battery clamps to fit the bigger posts. Bit of a pain but got there in the end. -
Falken 452 Or Falken 912?
prdreilly replied to lankanrascal1's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
How much did they quote you? Front (225) or Rear (245)? -
First thing to do would be check that your ignitors are in tact, if not you have to decide if you can be bothered with the expense. Did they give you the original plugs that go into the ballast? If not, then you are going to have to chase up all those parts as well.
-
You could, but obviously it will cost you. If all your Xenon bits are already there, and all you have to do is put it back together, that is cheap to do.
-
I was fortunate enough to have the Xenon bulbs and plug with cut wires for the ballast kindly put in my glove box after compliance. The ignitors were left in tact, so there was no need for me to buy anything, just had to cut the wires to the Halogen bulbs, pull out the spacers for the halogens and the bulbs (my spacers weren't glued, just pushed them out), then bend the wire springs that hold the bulbs in place, join the original wires back together (solder & heat shrink or Crimps), plug it all in and voila! It is a bit of a fiddly job, you have to pull the wheel off, and the plastic guard liner to get to the back of the headlight, but I am pretty useless mechanically, so unless you are a total novice you should be ok.

Imported V35 Owner Questions
prdreilly replied to Akumaru's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I was of the opinion it was 80L but even when driving with the low fuel light on for ages, I have only ever been able to put about 70-75 litres in. -
Not sure exactly what you mean, do you mean the lower part of the lights (High Beam and Fogs)? It sounds like fog lights you are describing, that light up down and wide. The are the same bulb as the High beam, must just have two settings. Not sure if they are standard type bulb, or a unique to Nissan item? It does seem a bit silly having Xenon low beams and Halogen fog and high beam. I guess the cheapest option is to see if you can find a replacment bulb that is the white colour of the Xenon HID low beam. There are lots of imatation HID's now, that look as white, and don't need the ballasts and ignitors etc. I wouldn't mind a better high beam, I find it pretty ordinary!
