Cane toad here, appealing to blues for advice on getting to the game this wednesday. Coming down from QLD on wednesday and probably staying in the city somehwhere (maybe darling harbour). Do what i did and get an sr20 pulsar for 2 years untill your at LEAST 20. Now I have a clean history and Just Car has me on Rating 3 making my 33 insurance $1200. I imagine you will also have more of a chance of staying alive this way too, no disrespect to anyone but IMO a turbo 33 for under 18 is just insane.

I have found that since I got my skyline the oil seems to get black very quickly. Im talking it was changed when I got it and its really black now after like 1500-2000k's. Is that normal ?

Has anyone raced a 2005 Magna VRX? I have a mate who is bugging me that its faster than my 33. This is the 2005 Quadtec AWD VRX 3.8.... Im still not too concerned though but im still not sure what they are stock at the treads. Im trying to get him to come out to the track and give me a run.

Thanks for the positive comments, there is definately an active community here. I was actually wondering what they do in a "dyno tune" as opposed to a power run. Is it worth getting a tune if i have just the exhaust and hks pod?

Yeah thats what i find when seaching etc. Their dyno and workshop is booked up like 2 weeks in advance so that has to be some kind of good sign

thanks for the advice, I just go to the gym there and thought i would snap a couple of pics after i washed her today. (Isn't it annoying how many inperfections you find when you wash a car for the first time ?!?!) Also, I was thinking of putting the car on the dyno just to see how it goes as a starting point and also to check out a noise im hearing (there is a high pitched whistle when the turbo spools up only happens for like a second on full boost between 4000 and 5000rpm i think it is). I rang up FIST performance and they quoted $95, does anyone have any dealings with them to speak of? or anyone else to recommend?

Hi guys, Skyline and SAU n00b here so be gentle. I got my first skyline last weekend and after popping the bonnet today I came across a small tube coming from the air intake on the top of the engine. Does anyone know why it would be not connected and why it would have a screw in the end? Also, is it supposed to be connected to the metal tube poking out (see in pictures). Would this be linked to the idle problem im having aswell? ( I searched and found a HEAP of threads about idle problems but none that know exactly what the problem is).
