  1. If you noticed to, when you pushed the edit button, it goes straight to full edit now. There's no quick edit option.... Edit: damn you edited your post just as i posted mine haha
  2. Haha I just made an exact same thread 2mins before you. Looks like everybodys got it
  3. As title states. I'm browsing SAU this morning then everything just changed, and its just made it heck annoying to read suddenly.
  4. I used just the standard E10 91RON stuff once on a 98RON tune. It was crap, well it drove fine driving normally but once you put it under any kind of moderate load and boost......instant ping. But the cruising economy did well kms wise. I won't be using it anytime again though.
  5. Wow, i can't believe you had so much drama. And as for the guys at the workshop that weren't sure whether they could drill stainless.......what the heck??? what kind of workshop was that? I did it with a standard high speed steel drill bit and a half dead battery on the cordless. Are you happy with the results of the performance increase? If yes then that sir is the joy of modifying. Do it yourself and you'll enjoy the results more. Not to mention you learn a lot about your car, so if something goes wrong you have a pretty good idea whats gone wrong because you know your car better than anyone else. Nonetheless, the general rule you should folllow is, if you haven't done it before and your going to do it yourself, excpect it to take twice as long, allow for the unexpected. Also depends on your mechanical competancy as well too I suppose. Also, get yourself some good tools, there's nothing worse than using cheap crap that breaks on you. I've done it before and got the job done with cheap tools, but they only last for that one job and half of another. After that its shot. I and many others haven't had as much drama as you have, but every car if different so I can sympathise for your troubles. Happy modding
  6. Yes he's sucked you in with hypnotherapy. The many threads put you in a gaze then he strikes with advertising hahaha http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Lo...34-t227378.html All hail the hypnotoad.......... PS Terry mate, no offense intended
  7. Yeah your right, the temp sensor for the cat doesn't fit. You've just got to drill out the hole so it accepts it, no biggie really....unless you don't have a drill and drill bits. Weird that the silencer got stuck. All I can say is that the dump/front pipe is the hardest to fit. Getting to the nuts around the turbo is the hardest but not impossible. Take the heat shield off the turbo to get to the ones around the top. Here's mine back in the day http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Xf...st-t144283.html
  8. You've probably already read pauls PFC FAQ about getting rid of knock by reducing timing etc. As easy as it is to do, its hard to do by yourself. Unfortunately you can't exactly just "compare" maps with people who have similar mods and power output. Car A and car B may have the same mods and power output, but the maps will be different for both. No 2 engines will be the same. The best thing for you to do is to get it checked by your reliable tuner and just clean up the maps a bit, it shouldn't take him all that long as the majority of the tune is already done. It just needs some tweaking.
  9. Sorry I don't have a direct reply for your post ignition wise. But my general thought is that it is better to tune in winter. Because the air is colder and denser hence more oxygen enriched. So if you had your tune done in summer when its not so cold, the air then isn't as dense and your tune is suited to summer only. When winter comes around the air is denser and it would actually cause your car to lean out because it takes in more air than mapped. And when it leans out it can make it more prone to knock. So, If you tune in winter you should rule out the possiblity of knock in summer because the AFR's will be richer in summer than winter. But if you tune in summer, It will lean out in winter because your AFR's will be leaner due to more oxygen, thus knocking in winter. Someone correct me if otherwise, but its worked for me so far.
  10. Does it have an aftermarket immobilser fitted? Or an aftermarket ECU? Otherwise if its standard you either call up a really good Locksmith with the gear to program up new keys for you, or you ring up Nissan. Either way your gonna be selling a kidney to get it. Although dealerships do tend to rip you off a tad more more than businesses, depends on the business you call to I suppose.
  11. PM sent and sold
  12. I find that even just having the cold air intake routed towards the pod it routes in a lot of dust and bugs very quickly and clogs up that area of the pod filter. Surely having it exposed behind the bumper will only amplify that. I've got a breathable stocking over my CAI now and it filters out a lot of dust and bugs and it doesn't take long to have the stocking start catching everything.
  13. Well as you know you can feel a big difference between the performance of daytime and night time, so dropping the temperatures as much as you can can't be a bad thing. I can't say whether i felt a difference because i finished it just as winter came on, and winter always makes the car fell better. I had the car retuned not long after and everything felt better after that. I'd say it would of had a contribution of some sort to making the car feel better after the tune. But one thing I do know is that the surface temperature of the pod has dropped a lot.
  14. Hahahahahahaahaha he's still in grade 11 and hasn't purchased his first car yet let alone even having a licence. I call lies, lies I say hahaha Proof? read....http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wo...ng-t226745.html
  15. This is what i did to mine. I admit its not pretty but its was cheap to make and does the job just fine and keeps the pod nice and cold. I'd say you could probably do the same to yours if you not fussed about how well it looks. And i used this for a CAI
  16. Wow. I never thought you could associate the price of fuel with whether you go to the mechanics to get work done or not.
  17. Boots received, thanks mate they fit like a charm. Trader feedback left
  18. +1 for intercooler piping blown off
  19. correct me if I'm wrong, but if my calculations serve me correctly, our fuel prices here in australia are way higher than in america. Here its safe to say on average regular fuel costs $1.70AUD/L America on average pays $4.50ish USD/Gallon for regular fuel. 1 Gallon = 3.78L $4.50USD divided by 3.78 = $1.19USD/L Current exchange rate is $1 USD = $1.0511 AUD 1.19 times 1.0511 = 1.250809 So for comparison: America pays $1.25AUD/L for regular on average Australia pays $1.70AUD/L for regular on average ....yay
  20. hahahahaha what a joke. It'd be safer to just cut your springs down, but even that is still a stupid idea.
  21. i second that to infinity
  22. yeah no power steering issues here either. Just leave the hicas ecu plugged and your set to go. The car is more predictable during high speed cornering. It doesn't give the squishy squirmy feeling in the rear.
  23. what about the greddy profec B spec 2's. Aren't they a good EBC? they only cost $375 odd.
  24. I know you never said it is the be all and end all. But the way you come across to them is that it is to you. You know why you went RB30, you know of the benefits, don't worry about what they say. You have to remember also, RB30's start off with a SOHC. By you dropping a RB25 or 26 head on instantly customizes your motor. After that its all customized motor vs customized motor arguements, and thats what they've given you.
