  1. I'm surprised GTST has posted in here yet. He usually comes up with something good to say
  2. . Whoops accidentally posted. What was your problem in the first place? Now its not idling when cold? Please elaborate.
  3. nah sorry bud. Its sits inside the bumper and sits right behind one of the holes. Got a slight photo of it in the engine bay. I've got a stocking over it as I found it routed a lot of dust into the pod. I found this out when I took my pod off one day to find a nasty black patch of dust on it underneath.
  4. I made one out of PVC. Cost me a whole $2.50.
  5. is the response is pretty good? full boost by XXXXrpm? Good power for low boost to
  6. Anyone else have any ideas?
  7. Well as long as you can get sufficient air to the airbox you'll be right. This probably means making a bigger hole and snorkel on the thing.
  8. Yes it would be. But we're trying to get this one down to a cheap as possible solution, but if it really came down to it and we really had to we'll get walbro. Better to do it right the first time. But the R33 pump has got be better than the S15 pump wouldn't it? It'll be a larger sized pump than the stock wrx and s15 pump. Might be a touch harder to fit. I'm not even sure it's the problem, it probably isn't. Just another possibility maybe. Wear spot on the TPS? That's a new one to me. Please elaborate. How can I check the TPS? Cheers guys
  9. Ok I'll note that down. Thanks. Its weird because the spark doesn't break down in the higher revs at all.
  10. Long story short. My brothers got a MY00 WRX, it has a slight hesitation or a miss down low in the revs when its not on boost and when its cold. He's tried new plugs and leads and fuel filter to no avail. He does however have an S15 pump in there (came in the car when he bought it). It has a FMIC, turbo-back exhaust and pod in the mod department. Would it be better if he's throw in my Stock R33 pump in? Would this help with the hesitation? ps, I'd be posting this on rexnet except they won't accept my email to sign up. Cheers guys
  11. yeah gtst's don't have intake air temp sensor or in your case your RB25 or RB20. The RB26/GTR has it.
  12. Are you saying there's no point in fitting a strut tower brace? That they do nothing to help improve handling? I'm not trying to be a jerk, serious question. I'm just wanting to know your reasons. When I fitted mine, it made quite a noticeable difference to handling. I'm sure others would say the same.
  13. No. Your engine can still be healthy. Constant pinging will kill your motor. pinging on the odd occasion/one off pinging like what you have done is not good, but it probably didn't do any serious damage either. Get a compression test while its getting worked on/tuned, too see if the engine is still healthy just for peace of mind. Just don't let it ping again.
  14. Let us know what the response is like
  15. Ryan.R34, did you get your pump done?
  16. I had a similar issue once. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;#entry3195352
  17. did you put any kind off brake goo on the back of the pads?
  18. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;hl=afm+solder Refer to GTST's post at the bottom for repair instructions. Post #16.
  19. its probably your AFM(air flow meter). It probably has dry/intermittent points on the circuit board. Resoldering all the points on the board can fix this.
  20. Mine fitted like a charm. It didn't touch anything, it cleared the crossover pipe fine. I bought the adjustable one, not the cusco style one.
  21. Yeah if they were never discontinued all this talk about PFC being outdated wouldn't have come about. Its because they're no longer the cheapest and most effective option for its price that its been labeled old and outdated. Honestly if you could still buy them for $900 odd dollars, would you still say its not a good option? Would you still say get an EMU over a PFC? Some will say yes, but I know plenty would say no. For the price the discontinued ones go for now, you can pick up later and greater ECU's with more options than you can poke a stick at. But its time to move on, just accept they're not any longer a very feasible option and you can get something else that will fill your needs anyway for the same price. But if you can pick one up for a reasonable price then I'd say jump at it. If not don't worry about it and get an EMU. I bought a PFC just after they were discontinued, got it just as their prices started to rise. It wasn't cheap, but not overly expensive either. I don't regret buying it.
  22. Can't go wrong with a nismo pump. It'll support plenty of power. I've heard one before, It's not "quiet" but not loud either. Just be prepared to fork the $$ out for it. The tomei and nismo pumps are the same item. Just different names.
  23. I put a walbro in last week. I bought it from slide, the same one abu is talking about. I rubber mounted mine so its not noisy. You can hear it, but its not loud at all. The exhaust note drowns out the sound. The Mafia cleared up a few Q's for me here about a week ago about flow etc. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;#entry3337787 As for FCD and fuel pump. They're both totally different things that do totally different jobs. The fuel pump supplies fuel, the FCD is a AFM signal bender to prevent the ecu from going into panic mode. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
