S14 With Neo Rb25 Drift Car.
DJRIFT replied to Simon-S14's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
i got the link out of HPI then i checked on ebay. there is a company in the UK that was the company listed in HPI and its easier and cheaper to buy off ebay. nice progress on the wiring. -
Seriously thoe how packed are the strip clubs during F1? i have only just realised that there will be people every where i want to go while there. and i hate crowds.

yep pretty simple. where that air filter is that line needs to be plumbed onto the turbo side of the throttle. that would be sucking un metered air during cold start and idle. its a wonder it doesnt stall when you stop at lights. that black box thing as you described is a heat activated air bypass valve. or cold start valve. its fully open when the car is cold and as the block warms up it closes off. it also has ignition power to it to help it close off. this is why under cold start imports rev heigh for the first few minutes then slowly go back to normal.

with Bens and mine we have an extra gasket due to the adapter plate. we spent heaps of time cleaning all the gasket and carbon ect off the things. they are very time consuming. i have also pulled the complete intake off a GTR in the car chasing a leak. that is not a fun job. who flocked your dash in the end? i was reading in HPI that you can buy cheap flocking kits off the net. no one does it in norther tas as some of the rally teams used to send there dashes to the mainland to be done. just noticed you dont run a hydro. never felt the need? -
Is Gaven driving this or are you in with someone elce this year?
-
page 52 and no racing yet. im actualy going to melbourne to watch for the first time ever. getting a little excited.
-
Sav man and i both ran in the TA last year and we will both miss this year due to an F1 trip. i would have entered drifting and TA if i was here. are you drifting Zoid?

World Time Attack Challenge 2012

As with all motor sport as it grows it becomes more expensive. its pretty easy to understand what they are trying to do after reading the press release. they only want serious cats to enter and the level to be high. i mean people want to see the fast people not joe blow out for his first time with no idea which way the track rotates. committed people will not be fased by the expense. soon they will bring in a few events during the off season for people to qualify at before they can enter. just like evey other sport in the world if you want to be at the top of your game. -

looks very nice. will look sweet in the fresh engine bay. -
im not in a rush so didnt tell them i needed it asap. i think it will be around 3 weeks turn around. no need to send to the states as there is plenty of people in australia that can do it. just have to look around. i didnt get a quote as i told them if it was under $200 for the repairs needed to go ahead. they will only quote once they have seen the ecu thoe.

i belive you can hire MIGs at a pretty good rate. like everything a cheap welder will give cheap results. a half decent one will do a good job with a bad operator. dont get a gas less mig. may as well stick weld it.

i have just sent my Power FC off to have some repairs. i belive they test them before return so if you have no luck let me know and ill tell you where to send it.

got a C's short shifter to suit GTR gear box. should suit r32 or 33 as im pretty sure they are the same in the most of the key box parts. i removed this from a r32 GTR and have had no need for it. it has no writing on it but it is JDM as f#ck and has excellent build quality. far better than any of the ebay short shifters that i have used. will not fit gtst without mods. not worth it IMOP. looking for $80ono pm me for faster replies.

the starter will turn over and some things will work even with reverse polarity. a bloke i know fried his power fc doing this and he was an electrician. the only thing that will make an ecu hot is if it has a short. hence smoke coming out of your second one. there would have to be a short on one of its outputs as its inputs would blow fuses. so i would be looking for a component fault. also you have no idea what may have happened to the car thus far so it could have been broken before you got it.
-
mite sound simple but are you sure the battery polarity is correct. - to body/chassis + to the starter ect? you would be suprised just how many people get this wrong. besides having power going in somewhere it shouldnt the other main issues is earths. there is a key set of earth wires that bolt to the plenum near the coolant temp sensor. if these are loose/ dirty contact it can cause issues. it does sound like somthing is wrong with the wiring if you didnt have any luck with the other ecu.

Damo's R32 Gts-r, On Going Project Fun Car. History And Use Full Info

Power cruise skids. note the front lip had been broken in the middle.hence it looks pointy. to make the 33 lip work it had to have aprox 80mm out of the middle and 40mm out of the back of it on each side. i had originally plastic welded and braced the join but broke it loading onto trailer as the 33 lip in the middle is about 50mm lower than my VS one that used to clear. this is an average pic to give you an idea of what the 33 lip looks like when fitted properly. got a small list of things to sort out before drift series starts. Power fc being repaired. fitting modded knuckles if time permits i am keen to strip my loom out if i have time. need to make ducts up for my roof scoop. try and stop compressor surge from turbo -
hi all have a set of 6 sard 800cc injectors for sale. have been using them for a while but need bigger injectors for e85. will be ample on rb20 or 25 running e85. after $600ono

-
$13 000 and it comes with a bonus nissan. still not interested in stripping the car.

a lot of people think its just a boring track with 2 drag strips back to back but the sweeping corner onto the start finish line then the hump into turn 1 is where a lot of time can be made. going over Bens data logs the .7sec difference between us came from that section of track. simple as that. You guys should totaly come over. do a saturday north sunday south thing. ive only lapped basky a hand full of times but its one of thoes tracks that shows why people race cars. undulation off camber corners. blind corners ect. plus all us tassie guys can help out if anyone had dramas. -
