  1. i never realised what they were or just how light they were till i got them. my mate only had 2 as he went to buy them off a wrecked 300zx and the owner of the 300 couldnt get the wheel nuts undone on two of the rims so he cut the rims off the car with an angle grinder so he pull the brakes ect off. total moron. ive searched a bit but never come up with much.
  2. i highly recommend the bosch pumps but in the past ive fitted genuine walbros and they are smaller and fit far better in a r33 fuel tank. the 040 is not recommended for r33/s14 on due to the design of the pick up. it will give you fuel surge during normal driving under half a tank. the 044 will work better than the 040. have a look around this site there would be literally hundreds of how to s and recommendations for a r33 gtst
  3. So its been 2 months since the last update. the last update was leading up to a club day that both ben and i ran our cars at. ben suffered an engine loss and after testing some different shock, springs and reverting back to my old setup i spun the clutch off the line. clutch damage was my fault for trying to beat 4wds at there best game. I did score these light weight 18x 10 Manaray rims leading up to the event thow. they dont have hellaflush opffset but they allow 285s to work under the guards. with 2 dead cars in my shed again we got stuck into Bens and got engine out and stripped. I let the christmas holidays give me some breathing time from my car. early in the new year i decided to enter the drifting at Power Cruise as its the only opportunity to drift the whole track. its been 4 years since i last done that and it was one of the best times ive had in my car. So we pulled the old clutch out and found that the plate material had transfered to the flywheel and pressure plate. not a bad effort. Another higher rated exedy was put in its place as besides this ive never had an issue with one over 6 years of using this car. Another downer at the club day was loosing my veilside front lip. i hadn't reattached it properly after modifying it for the tow strap. but with a bit of mucking around i modified a series 3 r33gtr front lip to do the job. i dont have any good pics of this yet but gives you an idea. This is why you dont put encouraging stickers on your car. Two more pics and hopefully have some incar up soon. Because of other major events this year i wont be doing another event for over 3 months but as the car is actually in one pice and going ill just be tidying it up and finishing bits off ready for the 2012 tas drift series.
  4. that seems high.
  5. call race radiators in vic. they suplied the radiator in our targa car and in a 600kw circuit 32. they can make them any shape and size but the important thing is that they make them cross flow as that makes a huge difference. i think im right in saying that this wouldnt have been possible running a re tuned rom. with the haltec this should be easy.
  6. a lot of r32s out there in all forms. was grate to see. few nice r33s as well. show and shine was probably the best for quality and variation ive seen in quite a few years. althoe my weekend didnt start well i did have fun doing the drift demos.
  7. have you not seen my shed. heaps of rims that fit gay skylines.
  8. LOL, i have a pice of the front lip from Matt Closes Porsche he "over steer of fail" at rally Tas/Burnie a few years back. it has closeracing.com sticker on it. or what ever. i need to dig that out and put in the shed.
  9. hi. i have a full set of Sydney kid spec Bilsteins shocks with whiteline springs to suit r32 gtst. used for 10,000? kms best allround shock ive ever used and by far the best on the street. these came from the SK group buy and have extra height grooves. they are circlip adjustable for height and can go quite low. like most bilsteins they have no other adjustment but they are cheap to get revalved or rebuilt. looking for $500 ono can also suply other springs with varying rates to suit. located in tasmania but happy to post. please PM me for fast replies
  10. if you get your tuner to plug cut the tune that 1300+ would disappear fast. good value.
  11. ill be there. not sure which car yet but it will have gate.
  12. ive done a dump pipe on an M35. had to make a tool to get oxy sensor un done. was half a day job and id say im a capable person to do that kind of thing.
  13. we got a third of the wight out of the flywheel and clutch assembly by going to a single plate all in one clutch flywheel. was surprised it wasnt more but the difference for engine response is also noticeable. saved about 6kg.
  14. i have a full set of gtst bilsteins. the fronts will fit gtr. happy to sell just the pair with springs out of a gtr.
  15. ask him about goats.
  16. various sized poles is how we do it. if you take care it will work a treat.
  17. yea that may be right. some people say i have a massive V, but it also comes from experience with wheels and fitment or not, just trying to save you the stress and hassle of modifying guards at the track. i can guarantee when you spin off and hit a ripple strip with the wheels hanging out there wont be enough travel to save the guard. getting the correct size now will save in the long run.
  18. have you got a set for it toffy? they look ok. set would be better.
  19. why not just get a less aggressive offset on the front. its not a gtr so you dont need "gtr" sized wheels. plus wider track in the back will improve stability. just an idea. or more camber if you have upper arms? or put r32 lower control arms in as they are shorter then shorten up the tops. or dont do the last one.

any jo blow off the street should expect to pay anywere from 20-30 bux a tyre then if you add nitrogen. (which is recommended even in race tyres as it is far more stable and there is less pressure growth during a heat cycle.) thats anywhere from 5-10 per tyre its all of a sudden over 100 bux for some carry in tyres. its not heaps but its all money. im with you thoe. getting a tyre store onside if you swap tyres a lot is a good thing.
  21. the D2R isnt a bad looking rim provided it has a decent offset to give it a concave look. where are you buying these?
  22. cant belive i missed this. oh well guess theres next year. haha. actualy im going to start building a wankr spec car just for this event.

i would belive that boost automotive would be just as competitive as anyone elce. tyres may be cheap on the internet but when you add freight and fitting they work out similar. the cost of getting tyres fitted anywhere is quite expensive nowerdays.
  24. yea but if you have a look at the damage caused to the piston it hasnt cracked or done anything elce. you would think if it was on its limit it would have shit big time.
