  1. i know the bloke and he was looking at a holden befor buying the ford and will probably buy a holden once the ford goes. so alls fair in love and war.
  2. Fords are rubbish and drive like balls. shoulda got a holden when you had the cance. would have still been twice the ute. haha.

why do you have a wrx?
  4. i had a bit of a think about ways you could go about this cheap after reading it but in reality UHF radios arent cheap when your chasing any sort of quality or reliablity. the setup i had thought of would still cost at least $1000 in parts plus making it all work together so $1500 there abouts is good value IMHO. one hot tip thoe. get a big ass 12volt capacitor. not sub woofer spec and wire it into the power suply for the radio/intercom. this will cut out 90% of the engine noise you normaly get. like in wrc.
  5. yep drift lip but id be thinking thats what woolster will be getting to. but thinking about it has joged my memory of a bloke that has recently gone to 18s on a gtst. hes running 265 on a 9.5 inch rim are around the +20-30 range. i wondered why his guards had such a "hight" rolled lip but now i realise why.
  6. what you have is definatly not as far as possible. a mate of mine had his done with a roller and would stick out a good 50mm over the body width.
  7. thought i best do a quick update. this time of year is hell for me so very little time sent on my car. parts ariving box opened motivation growing test fitting for the fun of it. ive gathered the 3 1/2 inch stainless bends needed to make the dump and have been getting everything ready to go back together. New deadline is a week before powercruise. chuck in xmas and new years and ive got about 3 weeks fee to complete it.
  8. whats the od of the exhaust? thanks
  9. gts and gtr are the same. only one mount that is different so if you can get a gts one cheap gp that way otherwise gtr will definatly fit.

still have the origins. only a pair thoe.
  11. I can vouch for this car being a good buy. ive had a hand in it over the past few years. the current setup is byfar the best its ever been and the new turbo rivals the HKS2530 imho. if you do the sums it makes sense buy somthing like this as it is out of the box performance. its in true targa spec so with a few sensible mods it could be quicker on a circuit if thats what you wanted it for.
  12. yep i like that idea. ive never been that far north. i should have come up for toolies. i just have to finish my car first. see you in a few months. on the guard front "bolt on" flairs wont do the job by its self. most of the drift buys hack away all the guard under the flair or wide body guard. i have a few differnt sets of flairs in the shed waiting to go on. one set is a S13 set and they dont fit all that nice. i actualy got some flairs off an early celica supra. but thers a heap of work to get them rigth to. if you find someone with the right skils a propper metal flaired guard will be just as good as any bolt on flair and more practical. i likeis too. its funny as they have been around for a few years but have only just become "fashionable" i think it just takes one persons with the right car and the right size rim to really set a wheel off. the TE37 has been around for years and then one day they were the best rim you could get. then the work XD9. but i think that the pan speed does wonders advertising the volk CE28Ns. if that car never came out wearing them than i dont think people wuld like them at all. i think the current style is dish but with a modern spoke designe where as a few years back it was the tapered spoke of the te37s and lmgt4s that rained supreme.
  13. yay this is my kind of topic. get yourselfs a copy of the latest HPI. it has a s15 time attack car from J pan that was featured on speed hunters a while back. they just used the stock guards but spaced them out about 50mm with some bracketts. instant wide body. as always it could have been done nicer. also not sure if either of you guys are running them but r33 lower contol arms will push track out moreso. if you get much wider than a 10inch at +15 you will be getting scrubbing on the fire wall and chassis rail. i have 10 +15 on the front of my car with r33 lca and modified lock for drifty drifts and there is rub marks every where. i know you guys dont need ooooober lock but its worth considering. oh and 10 +15 fits a gtr guard perfect so you can go a bit further and roll the guards.
  14. thats the best think thats ever left your mouth. besides cum. haha. its probably hard to justify having a car sitting in full targa spec thats not realy competitive on the track when you may use it once a year. plus for the cost of events like targa you can race a whole season of circuit. and i especialy like the idea of buying emos to throw at the scenery.
  15. is the exhaust still for sale? i and price. feel free to pm me. i had a look at it when i was down with ben.
  16. 200-220 odd is achivable with a r34 neo turbo. they are a far better turbo than the r33 rb25 ones. they are noticably bigger in size. they sell for around $400. you wont need injectors but may need more tuneability than an afc. anything more turbo wise and your looking $1500+ to make it worth your while.
  17. Petes car has now gone under th 60sec at symonds which would easily make it the farstes 20 powered anything in the state. its a real credit to him as its such a simple setup with no big flashy parts. 59.5 i think was the best time yesterday in the dry and then he spun a big end. new donk in it for today thoe.
  18. so now what it reads like is you have sour grapes becasue someone rocked up to a super sprint and beat you using stuff you deem not to be eligable for super sprints. anyway this thread sux
  19. the car is indeed the ex white hot "Spare car" its all only roumors but ive heard its been poked and prodded for parts ect. this may or may not resuly in a better car. its certenly cheap for what it is. i remember about 4 years ago it was on car sales for $150 000. but like any import you do have the added bonus of going and giving it a thurrow inspection rather than buying one off a few pics from japan.
  20. your first post says in sports sedans which i automaticly think of being racing. so i would have thought that if you are racing than you would need all this stuff as a basic to run in sports sedans. i could be wrong to.
  21. if this doesnt sell PM me. ill take it.
  22. it used to ba a bit of a trend that holden would be prodomantly red in the colour scheme and blue for ford. i think at on stage the even ran blue ford and red holden window banners then all of a suddernt he colours got mixed up and all i used to tell them apart by was the rear wings. now with the VE shape its a bit easier. to comment on recent posts. - i would have to agree that the BTCC is the best to watch on TV out of them all as it has a mix of cars. a mix of drive FR and FF and the drivers actualy overtake. - control tyres are good in the budget classes but i belive that the better way to aproch control tyres is to have a control size and compound and then 2 or 3 different brands suplying them. if say dunlop and yogies were controll for a series and they sold tyres of the same size and compound at the same price it would give compeditiors a choice and it would make tyre companys work to keep there brand on the front row. its not that long ago that V8s were running 2 brands and it makes one brand try to out develop another. that inturn puts more drive into the sport as a tyre company will want to pay a leading team to go and do testing on the new developments ect. control tyres are somthing id like to see in some levels of drifting as at the moment its more of the person with the deep pockets can achive more.
