Hoorar the ball is rolling as we all know you cant actually build a race car without a build thread. they just never get finished other wise. i think you forgot to thank damo for being such a grate bloke. then for finding a Grate Gtst for you and also letting you work on his Gtst to show you how much more fun they are to work on than GTRs. many fun times will be soon had on this car and hopefully ben will keep the pics flowing.

Sav Man even got to steer with some real powah.

What Is Your Favorite Aus Race Track And Why
DJRIFT posted a topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Ok so theres three parts to this. First what is your personal favorite race track in Aus and most importantly why. eg. its close to home. or it has the best street simulation. Second is. Im kind of new to Proper motor sport and im not real familiar with what the lay out of most of our tracks are. So i stated doing some research and found this helpful site. http://www.autosource.com.au/motorsport-circuit-tracks.php . as it put the track names with a link to that tracks home page and also what state it was in. Third is. i have a keen interest in traveling to some of these tracks to probably first check them out then to take my car over for some fun. My car at the moment isnt really built to any class of national motor sport so i figured i would have to just go along to a club day or somthing similar. which once a track is selected i will have to research to find out who is holding them and if i can drive there. Hopefully i can utilise one of the SAU track days at one of these tracks. Ok so ill start. i live in tassie so i have only driven at Symmons and Baskerville. i have club raced at Symmons but have pretty much only drifted on Baskerville which has had many National Drifters rate it as the Best drift track in Aus as the track its self is very undulating with a fairly big climb up a hill then back down onto a long straight that has a further drop half way along it. this track thoe has poor facilities and is poorly sealed with many different patches which lead to constantly changing Grip levels making it very street like. Symmons on the other hand has grate facilities and is only half hour from my door. it has been upgraded recently to get the V8 super taxis back which makes for a good surface. it is however a bit booring as the track layout makes for 2 big long drag strips with a hair pin at one end and a sweeper at the other with a few twists in between. From my current research eastern creek would have to be the pick of them all as i like the way it undulates and the basic lay out of it. but the fact it is in NSW would make it a fair hike for me. Oran Park would have to be second but unfortunately i wont be making it before it is closed. Winton is most likely to be the first track i visit due to drifting. please feed my interest -
sounds like the ball is rolling. I for one am setting no dates ect at the moment as ive got to much stuff on but we will see what comes out of it. well im totaly sick of the North east run as i do it over Xmas and on numerous cruises. i have always said a mountain trip would be far better. Ofcourse a state one is preferred but i think somthing leaving L'town as a starting point and heading west from there is the G O. like L'town mole creek shefield then maybe over the top to cradle mountan then back up to D'port or maybe just to shefield Via all the good mountain roads then to Dport for some food then back through frankford. basicly lots of (that yearly road race event that we wont mention for liability reasons) roads. oh and on that note it would just be like me and ben going for a drive and all you guys just happen to meet us and join in.

hey all. This came up at a mates place the other night and i had another look through it. Sorry i cant imbed it cos im dumb. this event was well over 18 months ago and as far as i know we SAU havent had one since. Any one keen at all. im usually flat out doing stuff but im always happy to make time for events like this. even thoe we are heading into winter and some of these cars arent driven in the rain ( lol ) maybe we would be more likely to get a good gathering due to people having less social commitments like during X mas and new years?

Mr "Hollywood" or The Woo strikes again. i can now see why he is called Mr Hollywood. i just went and seen the new movie, The Hangover, and it starts the man him self Mr Woo. well at least the whole way through the movie i kept thinking it was Ben ect. i know its way off topic but if you happen to see it you may see the similar resemblance that i did. or then again maybe not.

+1 pics and info
-
yea he is ment to be my passenger but just likes to sit on the wall.
-
thanks luckily he doesnt weigh much
-
i wonder if i could get them trade price cheaper than out of japan? ive been getting very good deals on excedy clutches through work.
-
does that say excedy. it looks mental anyway.
-
we'll have it built by then wont we If not i know of a "spare" car that it could be done in. lol targa 2010 Theres been plenty of r32 gtst entered in targa before but none have shone through like the mighty Woo, and in doing so has shown that with the right parts and the right pair of ball in both driver and nav seat that it can be done and done well. At the end of the day the fact is you guys put it to the porsche guys. last year in targa classic 08 the top 14 cars were porsche's and given that you are throwing a $20,000 car at trees rather than a $200,000 that makes it even better.
-
wow all the top shelf stuff in this car and its crap like this that stops the car. it realy shows you get what you pay for. haha. ive never seen a good extreem clutch. id be going for a OS as i like the light weight design of them. but ive heard you can get similar stuff from excedy now.

if you were going off the dyno sheet i have on my desk than you would have around 270rwkw but as a noob guess id say around the 300-330rwkw. close????

i have settled on my wheel choice and have decided that i no longer need these. they are Origin DNA 01 wheels as shown in pic in gun metal colour with polished lip. im chasing $650 firm as they are in like new condition first image they are the ones on the left

ive been working on my car over the past few weeks. today i made a bull bar. then i made a rear bumper bar but i thought it looked a bit gay so i ran some fluro string lines between them and wala i had a string for wheel alignments at the track and also some ramps to get the car just far enough off the ground to adjust front or rear toe. i dug up this old photo from my first event. and what it looks like now and even thoe this is a budget car ive found some budget carbon fibre so its making its way into the car every where. and the finished result also one with D1R wheels front and back ive been a bit slack as ther is heaps of new bits on my car but i have been short of time to put anything up

hi mate. thanks for the reply. i thought there may be a separate thread for the r32 rb25de heads seeing as there is nearly 350 pages in this thread but ill have a skim through untill i find it. thanks.

Any chance at all some one can point me in the direction of info solely regarding using a rb25de head off a r32 on the rb30 bottom end? it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Rb26 -how Do You Get Good Hp Numbers From Tuning ?
DJRIFT replied to 555kkk's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
i can see what you was trying to do but its not really help full to anyone. its ok if you want to win prizes at auto salon but performance needs to be tested over a series of set goals. like taking it to the track with similar weather and tyre conditions without changing anything but the tune. ect ect. the CNJ tune for example is the lowest hp but it might be 2 seconds a lap quicker because they had tuned response rather than top end. and it might do 20 laps back to back because it was a safe tune. where as one of the others may be slow around a track because the car is laggy as shit and has un usable power. this tune may also only manage 4 laps back to back because it gets hot and starts to knock. a good example is a friend of mine has a tuner "A" do all the work to his r33gtst. tuner A road tuned the car and had it put on a dyno just for a figure. it got a smigin over 300rwkw. but it would not even do a burnout. because it was a shit tune but it made 300rwkw. so he took it to tuner B who fixed all the issues caused by tuner A and got it retuned but it put out less power. but it does a good skid and runs like never before. moral to the story is it the pice of paper doesnt mean much. -
behind all that glitz and glamor of race tape is some good old fashioned drifter cable tie stitch work. im sure i should have been a surgeon. i also thank the porsche as i was able to steal/ borrow some of the the GTR's inner guard to cut up and make some ducting. it helped to.
