hi all im just wondering if anyone has done any brake upgrades that have made a big difference. seeings how im doing my water pump ive decided to do a few other things like my brakes as the pads have worn out. ive been looking in to it today while looking for my water pump. basicly ive found the following for a good price. bendix ultimate pads on the front and rear, with im not sure what brand slotted rotors on the front. bendix pads are around $100 mark and arent much good for the track but good on the road. it has been sagested to me that i buy a seperate set of pads for raceing on, like EBC reds. the rotors are through advanced automotive solutions (i can get them at trade) and are about $110 each or DBA wich are around $220 each. has anyone had any experiance with any of these products or could recomend anything elce. i had also thought of GTR brakes but there would be no real benifit unless i went for R33 GTR brakes which would cost more than buying new rotors and pads. thanks for any input.

hi all, after spotting a pool of coolant under my car i when looking for a problem and found that my car seems to be leaking coolant out of the tiny hole on the bottom side of the water pump. ive been told this is one of the first signs of it failing. it has also been useing a bit of coolant so it all makes sence now. first question is how much do these usealy cost to rebiuld? seccond is, will a GTR or an N1 pump fit on? as i plan to race and drift my car frequently an upgrade would be good. thanks for any help.

firsty all imported car A/C systems are ment to be degassed before the car leaves japan. when the car lands in aus compliance shops may or may not regass them. most to save costs put a new reciver-dryer on them and then just gass them up. (the reciver dryer is the little gass tank looking thing infront of the radiator) most of the time this will just fail as the car may have had the old R12 gass and needs to be retrofitted for the 134a gass. this means that every joint on the a/c system that has a tiny O-ring in it needs to be changed. if your car was made after 92 than it shouldnt have the old r12 in it. in this case if it still doesnt work 90% of the time it will be a leak. leaks can be expensive to fix. one of my mates is finding this out the hard way as he fixes one leak then gasses it and a few weeks later hes got another leak. as for the a/c compressor clutch not working the system has a pressuer switch in it wich is in series with the a/c on button and the relay for the compressor. the pressure switch cuts out on either low or high pressure. so if it is not working than you have a 99% chance that you have no gass. sorry that may not be very clear but the best i can do.

dam that was cheap -
will a vac pipe fit on to the back with ease? or does it need some brass fittings to screw it on with. i probably have some stuf to fit it lying around but if it just needs hose and a light than that would be better.

im keen on the boost gauge could you take a clearer pic of it? im gessing its a mechanican one? does it come with any stuff to fit it like hose?
-
i might be getting some after market ones for mine soon so if you cant get any sing out and ill get some on the way.

hi all. thanks for the replys. yea if some one can get a set out for me that would be grate. my gf is living near glenochy so if some one lives close to eastlands or could organise to meat her some where than that would be good. well benny msg me and said that the box he had was off and rb30e so no good for me but i still want it for the bell housing but he wont get back to me. i dont know why but its anoying as i could have had a box brought over in the boot of one of the drift boys (free postage) but i said id give this one a go instead. any ways if i cant do it on the cheap than it wont be worth it. by cheap i mean i can get the bearings for a rebiuld at cost price and it will mean a fresh box for the same price as an unknown seccond hand box. i have two boxes minus bell housings waiting to go but anyways. if it doesnt happen soon than ill wait off till early next year and get a 25 box. thanks damo

all you blody R33 drivers are all the same in your over weight, under powered, fat old biseness mans sports cars. na just JK. i think R33 are a more sensible option for people with enough cash. most people would either buy a late model commodore or falcon but if you have enough money to pick up one of thoes than you can afford a 33. which is easyer to say to your wife and family that you are getting a late 90s car rather than a worn out 16 year old sports car. plus they have the better engine and gearbox which everyone puts in there 32s anyway so a lot less hassels in owening a 33. but i still profer the looks of the 32. hey nice car and good mods. let me know when you get some new wheels as i already have 33 wheels on my 32 cos they look good on it and would like some more.

Flat Spot On Tyres? How To Avoid?
DJRIFT replied to RBFIRE's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
it just seems like bad luck to me. i think everyone missing the point he is trying to put across. depending on how bad the flat spots are just put them on the back and do a big burn out on them and hey presto thay are round again! i know its a shit idea but hey better than paying for more and more fun to. -
how long before another GB on these will be opend up?

well i fitted my pine apples to day and i did notice quite a difference. i put them in and took it for a quick run up the road. i decided to do a bit of a skid as thats what i put them in for and i found the back end to be quite a bit stiffer. i was able to fish tail down the road with ease as in the past the car would go out sideways and then snap back into line. i also only have lowered springs over the standard shocks (which are stuffed) so it was easy to notice the difference. if you had a stiff backend already than you may not notice them as much. well worth the money i recon

i got some drift pineapples today off a guy on NS and was kinda anoyed when i realised he had made them himself and they hadnt been manufactured like he said. but he did suply instructions on fitment. but i soon got over that and realised that i could also make them. i have a friend of a friend who can get me some nolaphane (if thats how its spelt) so i can make them up faily cheap if anyone wants. now dont be deturbed by me saying drift as these can be set up for three different ways to optimise hadeling. squat, drift and alround proformance. its just an idea so let me know if your keen.

kuz is the owner of pro automotive i think GMB means more fun on high boost. get it tuned on high boost. at low it will probably fuel up a little but atleast once you hit high boost you wont lean it out. i wouldnt worry about coming up north as most of the guys up here are pretty expensive and like i said before. kuz has payed with plenty of them and is cheaper i recon because he knows what is best for them so he can do it quick. basicly hes already done the trial and eror so hes not practicing on your car. hope that helps.
