Hi everyone, A Lot of people buy Cefiros as rolling shells, this is usually no problem, as a lot of people like to use better motors than the variants of RB20 that came stock in these vehicles. This is fine, except that usually a car with no motor also has no engine loom. In a Cefiro this means that the connection between the interior loom and the wiper motor is also lost. BAM! no wipers. I have created a little diagram which people can use to reconnect their wiper motors so the wipers work again. Clauses: - I have based this wiring diagram off an A31 Cefiro. Its likely that a C33 laurel has the same issue but I cannot confirm this, happy for it to be confirmed. - Attempt this fix at your own risk. It works on my car. Materials & Tools Required: - Female spade terminals, 6 normal size ones, 6 little ones (to suit the pins in the plugs under the dash). Alternatively, Pinch the relative plugs from a wreck (any late 80s nissan) and just connect them up. Or cut the the wires under the dash and make your own plug there. - ~1m of 6 core wiring, tape, heat shrink, basic electrical materials to make the loom. - Basic soldering equipment or crimping tools depending which route you take. - Basic tools to remove guard liner and kick panel (screwdriver). Process: - Remove the passenger side kick panel. Locate the white plugs hanging down from the dash above the where the ECU goes, these are the plugs you will be connecting to. - Locate the wiper motor, passenger side corner of the firewall. - The stock loom runs through the hole from the wiper motor to behind the strut into the wheel well, then into the cabin near the passenger footwell. You may have to remove the inner liner to gain access here. - Simply make your new wiring loom by following the colours in my diagram to connect the wiper motor to the dash plugs. You may want to remove your engine loom if it runs in the stock location so that you can integrate the wiper loom into the same grommet going into the cabin. Install and test. Diagram: Good luck everyone, would appreciate any feedback from people following this guide. This guide was posted on SAU for the benefit of its members. Anyone who wishes to copy this post or any part of it must seek approval from me and credit my work James

Where to get Skyline Serviced
sumanator replied to r33skylinegtst's topic in Australian Capital Territory
He had a flaring tool lined up off his mate, but it fell through at the last minute. -
Was good to finally see it in person after reading about it so much back in the day, luckily it still looks much the same from the outside so its pretty easy to recognise!
-
Eiji (Stinkypoo off NS, not sure if he is on SAU, I assume he would be but maybe not frequently) is selling a manual R31 wagon for cheap.
-
Thanks mate, was good seeing the S13 there, its the old HPI drag project car yeah? 100% Move the barriers in around/behind the start line and re tar would make a massive improvement.

Hey Guys, Im not very active on SAU, but thought I'd post my HR31 Coupe, hoping to get back amongst it, since the R31 scene is pretty well dead (well 3 people in the ACT, everyone has pretty well moved on). I've recently finished a major cleanup of the outside of the car, as well as a conversion from the standard redtop RB20 to a Silvertop, loom & ECU. All the work has been done by myself and my mates, and I'm really proud of it. Some pics at the Skyline Nationals in Goulburn: with the 180: I have some future plans for it, mostly continuing to restore it to as good condition as possible inside and out, and also some new bearings and rings for the motor, with a GTS-R Manifold, T04E, R33 side mount intercooler, external 38mm gate, and exhaust. Not really aiming for a power figure, but expecting around the 200 at the wheels on 10-15 psi. I also have a black 180SX which I like to do skid pan days, track days and drifting events in, a VL Calais Turbo which I'm fixing up, and another R31 which I drive to work. Hope to see some people on the weekend at the Snowy 1000

Bullet32 - Im not 100% sure. The first time my old one got taken was with a fairly crappy one i think but the second time i used the big one from Repco not sure what brand that one is. Looked about the same as these locks but its RHS instead of a rod. Paid about the same for it too i think. http://store.winner-intl.com/steering-wheel--pedal-locks-c4.aspx But by all means they are better than nothing of course.

Hey guys I've had two of these club locks broken off my R31 Skyline sedan and coupe when both were stolen (at separate times) THESE ARE NOT THE BEE ALL AND END ALL. I now run a quick release havent had dramas yet touch wood fingers crossed.

Silvertop Rb20 Ecu And Ignitor Box Needed!
sumanator replied to sumanator's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Still looking for both an ecu and ignitor box just to update. -
Hi everyone, Had my lovely silvia (its got an r32 silvertop motor in it) die on me last week out of the blue. It started then i reversed out and it stopped. And wouldnt start again. Now when i turn the key it turns over fine and kinda fires poorly twice then just winds over for infinity. If you turn the key off then try again it does the same pattern. I checked that i had fuel pressure in the rail and i did. Ive checked the ECU for fault codes but it came up with the one for all OK. Ive check all the fuses inside and in the engine bay and theyre all good. Ive tried to check the ignitor by unplugging it on the ecu side and checking it with a test light. No light from any pinout while the motor is turning over. Basically was wondering if anyone has some spare electrical bits i can swap in and out to try and diagnose the problem. Im looking for an ECU and an ignitor box for now, maybe a CAS too? Or if anyone else has any other suggestions for stuff i can check Im open to that too. Beverages will be supplied to those who can help me out with parts. I can come and get them after hours from anywhere in Canberra. Numbers on the ECU: Big 23 23710 04U12 Failing this im going to send the ecu and ignitor to Injectronics to have them tested. But thats kinda swinging in the dark and probably wasting money. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks, James

Hey guys, Got the car back this afternoon, in good nick, asswipes decided to break off the steering coloum surround and lock and start it that way. Was found in the carpark behind Edmund Barton House and aparently the cops recon they took another car from there. Ive heard from mates of mates that the guys who stole it decided to try and off it for 500 bucks (GODDAMN INSULT!!! ) They tried to do burnouts in it but its not real good for them so they just gave up. They didnt take anything from inside it (sunnies, keys to house and my Silvia, ipod, CDs) Guess i was dumb enough to take all that crap out before going to work. Anyways just want to thank everyone for keeping a lookout and spreading the word, we'll catch some of these bastards one day. Car got finger printed but they didnt find anything. The lookout is still on, they still have Eiji's car. Guess a bad ass alarm is on the budget as well Cheers all, James

Ya was in the kitchen filling up my drink bottle and watched it drive out of the carpark and down the street Was just standing there like "Fark not again!!!" Ah it was taken yesterday at about 3 from the big carpark at Thesiger Court in Deakin near the Mint. Could be anywhere now i guess. Thanks Kat, the more people that know the better i guess. Sulking at home at the moment
