  1. Yep, it still messes with my head seeing s13 interiors the other way around! You'll find a lot of people who are fans of the RB20 here, I'm not one of them, (nicely sorted out engine build by the way) but they're here anyway if you need help. While you might consider it unfair not being able to easily get SR20 bits, I also think it's grossly unfair how easy it is for you guys to get guns and how damn hard and expensive it is to get them here!
  2. My bets on the crank sensor as well, when they get up a bit of heat in them on the SR20's it can sometimes make an old wonky one on the way out get a bit cantankerous. Are a pricey little critter too, pays to shop around if you do need to get a replacement but most decent workshops can sus it out for you. After that its the loom to the ECU, given how they're wrapped around the head it can cause them to deteriorate so check the connectors and circuit there. ECU's on the way out do some funny things as well, on the bright side, stock 2nd hand ones of those are cheap. Usually though it's normally just a shitty plug or a coil pack that pops most of the time, O2 sensors if they've been coked up from running too rich tend to die fairly often as well.
  3. Had a dehydrated mouse in next to the space saver. I didn't keep him for luck. Aside from that, it had a crapload of tools down in the pokey little jack holder section along with an extra road flare, couple of coins and that was about it from memory
  4. I had it and was lucky enough to get a touch of pnemonia on top for that 'fun' gravel in the lungs feeling on top of everything else, absolutely rooted for about 4 days straight and it's the first time I've been that genuinely sick in about 5 years.
  5. Yep, I believe that is correct. If you're just going to drive the vehicle to the RTA, pay the rego it's alright to drive it unrego'd edit: However, if you're taking it in for the pink slip and the rego it's kind of a bit of a grey area Sucks you got stung but I think they where able to do that number on you without much chance of you getting out of it
  6. Suprised that it hadn't come sooner for Ford, don't think GMH have used local product since the mid 80's aside from an assembly line for the V6's to put them together. Neither company is doing well financially though.
  7. An ex gave my poor little car a name when I bought it home proudly all shiny and kinda new... Porn Several years down the track, minus her, still got the car and realise she was wrong and the car should have been called 'Whore'
  8. According to our records as of 48 hours ago, this PLATE currently has a clean record. I'll have to be more ho0ny
  9. Yeah it's interesting that Holden pulled out of the 6cyl performance market, the VY V6 supercharged commo's where not that bad a car at all and much easier to live with than the V8's. At least they seemed to blow up less than XR6's.
  10. I don't think its fun at all, my weekend is shot to shit chasing up techs and parts to go fix this crap. Actually about the only funny thing was watching highway patrol running around on the news doing something else aside from 'The war on pod filters & BOVs' and not doing very well against 'The war on APCs' which somehow seem to be ruining the roads and property far more effectively than yobbo import owners like me no less! But I mean really, spare a thought for all those mobile phone users out there in the Mt Druitt region who are unable to ring their drug dealers, call for pizza and arrange a decent stabbing with their mates.
  11. No filter for the simple reason it's made for a fun time, not a long time
  12. zzzzzz And in other news apparently they're thinking of importing the V6 so the Geelong plant and 600 jobs are going down the shitter.
  13. I guess the euphamism for sticking RB20's in S13 chassis would be along the lines of being the same sorts of people who like dating their mates 40year old mum. She goes given enough poke, but she's high maintainence, bit creaky and it's easier to just slip it to the dopey 20year old daughter who's 2 short of a six pack but the job done.
  14. Most people after spending the money on a proper rebuild or any kind of major surgery to the car will have receipts, ask to see them and don't be afraid to ask what, where and why it was done. If they don't pony them up or start getting evasive, assume bullshit.
  15. It's acceptable for actually posting here once in awhile you f**ker.
  16. Bullbar fabrication, my mate was sick of running over roos and wombats and denting his ute, so I went up to his joint lugging the welder and he'd bought some steel, he figured he knew what he wanted, but if I had nothing else to do he'd really like some gutter sweepers on it. Alright, we're country kids and it's not like theres any cops, so bugger it, straight through with 2 hotdogs on each side poking out near the back wheels, it sounded sex and by the time I'd finished getting it all nice an tidy Paulies done with the bullbar. 2 of us couldn't pick it up, I figured it was kind of heavy so we got the block and tackle which in hindsight was an indication of just how stupid this was getting but it did look kind of neat and we got that bastard on the front of the ute good and proper. It was big and looked mean, sounded mean, f**ken ay! We both sat down and cracked open the beer and smokes on the newly made bullbar and the back of the ute lifted up...
  17. Painted a mates old Mazda 323 banana yellow, with housepaint, it was a good idea after drinking a lot one summer. Didn't bother masking much of it up and did the edges of anything that needed to be clear with a paintbrush... it looked dodgy then, got even worse when it got new shoes which where some huge 16" knobby rally tyres and alloy rims (they got painted yellow too) and about a 2" lift with patented MK guard flaring with a 10lb sledge as a dolly and a big f-ck off rubber mallet. Then it was proper dodgy.
  18. No laws against entrapment in Australia, I'd take it from a different angle of either harrassment, neg driving or dangerous driving on their behaviour because I've seen a few of them wind people up with tailgating at high speed (I really f**king hate that!) and aggressive/dangerous driving and unless you've got a witness there with you or someone who was in the area when it happened, get their rego and hope someone can get ahold of them and willing to give their view on the matter. Simple fact is under normal circumstances they only catch people who do actually get all worked up and decide to race them which is against the law and people who where speeding their asses off anyway, suck it up and cop the fine. But, I've also seen them fail to wind people up into doing something stupid, then they'll end up pulling them over, usual breathaliser, where you going, what you doing bullshit and if you challenge them over "why the f**k where you so far up my arse to see what I had for breakfast" driving like they do, out comes the usual pop the bonnet and free window stickers revenue raising. Very frustrating and hard to do much about, they know it too.
  19. If there was a way of sticking one of the couple of dozen 2.5 Gbit ADM 16's we've got at work in there it could be kinda funny
  20. Yarrrh, interwebs!
  21. Why target hoons? Because YOU ARE WORTH MONEY too the government, murderers, rapists, theives aren't worth nothing, can't fine em, liable to shoot back once in awhile and generally a right pain in the ass to catch. 'Hoons' on the other hand, they just hang around in carparks like cattle at a lot and wait for some rozzer to come along and f**k em over.
  22. Friend has a factory (well, Tickford fiddled with) gas 6cylinder BA sedan and it's a bit of a mixed blessing, doesn't use in terms of money on fuel and certainly gets along alright. But it's not been what I would call reliable for a car with around 50k's on the clock and still smells new, oil leaks and seals mostly a couple of times now that where pretty pricey to fix. I dunno, think if you're dragging around a lot of gear or a trailer you'd do well with the ute, if it's just running around and don't have to take much I'd reckon a small turbo diesel car or hatchback of some sort, would be better in terms of reliability and just as economical on the juice.
  23. Lots of laughs there
  24. Haha, wait until the find out how often you have to service it and how much that's going to cost Lovely cars, I'd own one in a heartbeat but they're not a fleet vehicle.
