  2. depends if the afm is the same size as the front of the afm works like a flange to bolt the pod on.
  3. with a price difference of a few hundred bucks in the scheme of things i really dont think it should be an issue to someone doing and upgrade for the 250+kw range. The amount of money you have to spend doing with either option with all the supporting mods, ecu, injectors, pump, fpr -if required, z32 , clutch etc makes the $300 or so quite a small figure. I'm going to go the hks route as i fugure if i am spending all that money what is a few extra hundred bucks, and you get a brand new HKS turbo with brand new braided lines and new fittings etc. Not to mention the testing that would go into the HKS unit. That said, I am sure the gcg units are equally as capable - I just think if you r gonna spend 5k getting to 250kw from 200 the extra price isn't really an issue.
  4. 9 psi even with a spike (these dont spike very much) wont blow your turbo thats deifinately a safe level. Inlet temps might ^ a bit with the stock cooler but should be fine. He must have gone back to putting the hole in, cos when i bought mine at the start of the year it had no hole and i had to drill it in.
  5. Im not saying that this cruise should change or anything. Hell i am one of its main supporters Just saying that a lot of members may want to attend the buxton burger cruise as it has been organised since the start of the year etc and like Redlineingr31skyline said it may all be just too much to do both etc, yet again maybe they won't i dunno. From the way it looks like its shaping up it doesn't appear to have any shortage of numbers anyway, and will most likely be bigger than the members cruise. I'll prob just do both!
  6. Theres is the members buxton burger cruise on the saturday before this (same week end) prob wont affect the cruise though. My cars just gonna rack up a fair few km's that week end though! Cruizin all week end...
  7. Isn't the price only about $200 or so? Nengun has the rb25 gt rs full kit for around $2100, and gcg rb highflows are around $1900... Or is it the installation that makes the price difference? i.e highflow direct bolt on unit etc...
  8. its gonna look absolutely massive all pulling up at the meet spot in the morning! - this is bigger than the official one
  9. exterior pics!
  10. ^^ thats kinda just what they do - You'll find that most people using this controller including myself find that boost tapers off toward redline i.e might hit 12 early on very breifly but then slowly tapers off to 10psi by redline. They still hold it pretty well for a $30 item. Any more accurate and you'll need to consider an ebc, which even vary a little bit to.
  11. Huh - car park too small?
  12. lol - never really thought of it that way!
  13. The only way you will eliminate flutter is to run a hybrid bov. Like the turbosmart dual port. It acts as a plumbback - like the stock one, and an atmo bov, so it will plmbback (no flutter) and go woosh. If your really concerned about the flutter you'll need the dual port or a stock one.
  14. from my experience i dont think it is enforced very much as i have them on most of the time and have driven past many cops before who have had no prob with it. They arn't that bright at all just a normal globe and i wouldn't see how they would affect other drivers if anything i think they make your car more visible to other motorists so they dont bang in to you!
  15. very patient of you! looks like you'll be driving a real beast though soon
  16. You should be getting both sounds, i.e flutter when driving around normally and the pschh when you give it some stick.
  17. Hey mate thats what its supposed to do. Mine does the same and so would anyone elses with aftermarket bov. The bov only opens under higher load conditions such as more boost or higher revs etc. The rest of the time it remains closed and flutters. You can adjust when it opens by turning the head of the bov to make it tighter or looser. The looser you go the less flutter you will get as the more the bov will open and make sound etc. Your setup sounds right just loosen the bov a little. Although when i say load i dont mean load as in forth gear cruising at 60 with you foot to the floor for a sec, more like when the revs can increase quite freely (lower gears for example)- if that makes sense.
