This is doin my head in.

Recently i had a new Bosch 040 installed in my r33. When the car is running it runs good and fine. But starting the car especially after a longer period couple of hours or so and the car just cranks and wont start up. If i tap the accelerator pedal it will start. and if i turn it off then start it again it will start but the initial time you turn the key it cranks and cranks - I assums this is to do with the new pump and possibly its pick up. Anyone experienced these issues with the Bosch Pumps before in a skylne? More importantly anyone experienced it and managed to fix it?? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks guys

So what your saying it that it is the pump and that is just how it is? Sometimes it just cranks and cranks and wont start but then when you turn it over again it will start.

which cable is that? sorry got no idea what the earch cable looks like.

Hey recently i had a Bosch 040 and new oxy sensor fitted to my car as both of my old ones were stuffed. Now after the Bosch went in the car either cranks for a lot longer before the engine starts or it wont turn over at all and you need to pump the accel pedal to start it. Anyone got any suggestions as to the cause of this? Obviously its to do with the new pump but anyone know why. Once the car is going it runs fine. Cheers

Ovisously you have no idea... Do you have both forms of the controller? The thread was started with the initial design that INCLUDED the hole - BTw i am still pretty happy with a $25 contoller that i had to drill a hole into to work better than most controllers over 3 times the price if not more.

My car will be going on the dyno next week, i will see how the manifold pressure holds and let you guys know.

I'd imagine he'd be slightly exaggerating - it does feel like a long time though prob about 1-2 secs to get full boost back, doesn't sound long but when your flyin along it feels like 10 secs... And no, its definately not in our heads lag is lag and somehow i dont think the boost gauge is making me imagine things either. Regardless - they are much better with the hole.

Hi this is not another thread on opinions of workshops etc, i just wanted to know if ICE performance in cheltnam is still around?? cos ive been trying to call them for a couple of days now and can't ever seem to get onto anyone. Anyone know whats the deal?

This is an awesome result, especially with how much midrange you picked up in the last graph you showed. I am real interested in getting a simular sort of setup, as i still have the stock turbo and the power fc are quite difficult to come by. good work!

Hey dont' really know the proper name for it but im talking about the black plastic guard lining that sits in the front wheel arches infront of the tyre. I'm missing the one on the drivers side and would like to know where i would be able to get another one from? Does nissan sell them? I dont like it not being there as it makes the bar flex from the side, stones n crap hit my ic return piping, causes mud n stuff to leak out of the join beteen the bar and the front quarter panel, screws up air flow, and worst of all i cant stand seeing through the front bar when looking at the car from the side. Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks -Jordan

I'm runnin 10lbs creeps up to 11.5 or so in higher revs then drops back down to 9 - 10 cant remember exactly. i think it goes something like 9, 10, 11, 11.5, 10 or something. so generally its around 10. i could never get my car to hold one boost level really well every since i did the exhaust, i think possibly the wastegate is too restrictive or small for the increase in flow and dump size. sigh] boost is never as simple as it should be...

Hmm so far so good, havent noticed any drop off as yet, but i onyl just kinda gave it a lil burn round the block - weather is dam hot here aswell so i didn't want to ring it out too much knock knock I'll post up if i notice boost is dropping off up top.

Ok just want ot make this clear to everyone or anyone suffering from very laggy gear changes whilst using the turbotech. If you don't have the hole - DRILL ONE!! Today I drilled a 1mm hole directly opp the feed to the wastegate as shown in the pic and it made a wolrd of difference with gear changes. Previously the car felt totally dead, flat, sloooow when selecting the next gear - now boost response is fast. As you can see i highly reccoment drilling the hole!!

I think its just dissapointing that for something that was once fine now you have to modify yourself, certainly not an 'improvement'. I wonder why he changed it in the first place-maybe he was tired of drilling the hole or the ones with holes in em stopped being available or something. I might drill into mine today.

As the topic states was just wondering if any skyliners or anyone from sau goes to Manash in Caulfield. I was at swinburne in praharn for 3 years now starting at Monash Caulfied later this month.

Cos no-one has probabaly seen them since we found out about the issue. I had no idea the car had been stolen when i was driving next to one identical to the one in the pic.

No one had mentioned JL. I think JL audio are good quality and i like the fact that they are just plain looking - no fancy bright colours or darth vader looking speakers like some brands....

Yeh well i guess i'll start having to look around for what options i have-damn annoying though cos i thought i had the alarm stuff over and one with. whats your opinion on vipers?

yeh thats what i saw, off monash freeway hence - cranbourne, into burke rd then left at toorak rd. Btw this situation absolutley sucks for the owner, sorry to hear this.

I was on the monash freeway at about 4:05pm this arvo coming from chaddy to burke rd exit and a yellow s15 with rims and C-west kit got off the freeway aswell, turned right into burke rd then left at toorak rd, had two male occupants- sounds like the description you gave.
