Yeh i think it was a reasonable result and he was pleased to see that it was all in order - was fresh off the boast only a couple of months back. exhaust is probably on the cards sooner or later especially after he noticed my gtst pulls away from him... yet his 'R' pulls hard for 100% stocko
afr's look typical for stock ecu, they like richen up the higher the revs go. Mine used to plumet to near 10 whereas yours are hovering around 11 in top end. more power could be easily made leaning them out a bit more to 12:1, but ofcourse you need to find yourself an ecu... my car runs a flat 12:1 afrs with power fc and makes 202rwkw stock turbo, this was at RE also. I used to get some flat spots the rev range with my stock ecu under increased boost after the exhaust and fmic.
Yeh the the 300C looked awesome up there. And boy did it sound good when they opened up the top of the airbox!
I saw it reach about 260rwkW, impressive!, what happened in the end though? I saw it hit a speed limiter and then went into some sort of limp mode?
Agreed it cannot stop hoon activity entirely but import drivers and the like would have less of a reason to feel the need to put the foot down and drag if they knew it could be done it a perfectly legal way easily and cheaply and therefore the risks associated with doin it illegally are made even more not worth it. I know thats what i would do / think.
Yeh i think it would help too, definately would not stop hoon totally behaviour but personally i feel it would curb it somewhat. Mnay people with high powered cars and imports have never seen the strip or a track and therefore the only times they have been able to 'use' their car and get what they payed for in terms of performance is illegally on the street.
I'm confused, do you have to have competed in the previous deca events to be eligable for a place this time round? or is that only for the masters event in July, and anyone (providing they get in early) can participate in the one in early may?
it won't 'mask' the problem... it will FIX the problem. The problem is your ecu - the standard nissan ecu is the problem. as covered many times it has factory protection wirtten into it which retards the timing and richens the mixtures when airflow exceedes a certain amount. you obvisoulsy have higher boost than stock to make 260hp, what boost is the car actually running? A power fc is a full replacement engine ecu not a piggy back so thier is no 'masking' so to speak.
edit: do you have a boost gauge or are you just using the standard one? stock should be 7psi and therefore your airflow metre should not be maxing out at this level.
na didn't install myself had it done professionally by a workshop then checked by another workshop as i was sceptical of the install and they have said it was installed fine
Ive had issues with mine, and am taking it back to the workshop to try a different pump as i have had starting issues ever since installing the 040. it holds fuel pressure fine though and has no trouble holding sub 12 afr's on full boost, but starting the car sometimes sucks!
