Bosch Fuel Pump And Skylines
R33silverS2 replied to R33silverS2's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Something like that sounds plausable, bcos it feels fuel delivery related, and only happens an hour - 2 hours after a decent drive... -
Yeh i know the one, I was speaking to you for a bit out the front waiting in line cos i was waiting with my mate who had the legacy wagon - which unfortunately the clutch decided to pack it in on the night to get 200atw is pretty easy in a gtst and you could do it by getting a power fc, front mount, and some more boost. You may need some supporting mods though depending on the condition of some of your standard parts, i.e fuel pump, coilpacks, plugs etc. but your car is right on the money in terms of stockj power, if not slightly higher.
-
Which was your car? was is the silver r33 with the blue graphics?
-
Powerwise they sound like stock turbo's, do you know what afr's the car is running? I'd say your hks unit is incorrect as you would be making much more power on 1 bar. and yeh power fc + 1 bar or boost and full exhaust without that restrictive compliance cat and you'll be laughing.

Bosch Fuel Pump And Skylines

Hmm it's really annoying as you can see i still have the same problemo, however, the car only struggles to start after its been for a drive then switched off and returned to about an hour later - engine bay still very warm / hot. I have been thinking it might be an electrical thing or a sensor of sorts because starting it in the morning is fine, as long as you prime the pump before hand. Yet when engine is warm after an hour or so, regardless of the priming it just cranks and fails, but then will start next go... So it feels like there is no fuel at first and by the second time you try and start it the fuel has been sucked into the lines... But what i am trying to work out is why this only seems to happen an hour or so after the car is driven, a combination of heat and time. I can understand if the fuel drains away over time, hence then i need to prime it before starting, but i cant get why it doesn't work when the engine is hot... note though: starting immediately after switching off the engine or after 10, 15 mins or so is fine, and will turn over as it should. -

Anyone got any more pics? or know of any links? -
Yeh i spoke to you for a bit out the front about this while you were waiting to get onto the dyno, What did your car end up making? I was waiting out the front in line when your car went on. I get my power fc tuned at RE and find the boost reading to be very accurate there. If anything I'd say your hks unit is reading incorrectly as opposed to the man pressure on the dyno. Might be a stupid question but you sure the graph your looking at is boost and not afr's? that might explain it.

There were cars absolutely everywhere, all the way up the court, it was a massive turnout!

^^ Yeh i saw your car as well, was pretty much underneath it... Numbers were suprisingly low for a lot of the cars, thier were a few big numbers though such as the xr6 typhoon and the r34 gtr which both made around 350kw - GTR at AWkw. I didn't bother running my car as i had it done at RE not long ago for the power FC. Had a bit of a chat to Roy i believe up near the dyno. I left at about 12:00 and there were still quite a few cars waiting to go on and people around. Was a good night Cheers Ray and those who organised. -

Best Looking R33 Gt-r, I've Seen...
R33silverS2 replied to Spunky Munky's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ive seen this car in the flesh and it looks F#cking amazing. This is more than enough styling for an r33 GTR let alone any GTR, and looks very very tough and has been done very well. Putting extra wings, fenders and different skirts and bars on GTR's looks terrible and never looks as good as how it was originally designed. If people think a GTR needs extra wings to make it more of a head turner than they'd be better off with a lancer and a fake vielside kit, GTR's turn heads for all the RIGHT REASONS not wrong ones such as fibreglass hanging off them everywhere. I'd say they stand out quite a bit even when totally stock. Other awesome r33 GTR's as others have mentioned are Ferni's and midnight purple one {vsp3c} Just had a look at the car in the link.. it looks really tacky and the ugly kitting has only cheapened the look of the car, and the wing Holy crap... The gtr badge sould be removed they have already ruined so much of a good thing -

Hot / Warm Start Issues R33
R33silverS2 replied to R33silverS2's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Mods are Power FC, full exhaust, fmic, pod, boost controller, bosch pump. car runs fine and makes good power. 202 kw 11.5 psi I changed the battery over last yr as the old one totally died. I haven't suspected the battery through cos it cranks quite fast, whereas when the old one was going it was getting slower and slower, but like you said maybe its still worth checking as could be decieving. But that said, I'm not sure what the battery would have to do with the heat - cos it only struggles about an hour after a drive... Could coils heat up more when the car is off and not function properly on startup?? could plugs be an issue? I dont have any misfire though. Also the engine has never cutout whilst driving, and is not a conversion or anything. Car runs perfectly smooth when started, just struggles to turn over when the motor is heated up after sitting there for a bit.. And speaking of coils, anyone know if I would have to change the plugs or get anything re-tuned on the pfc if i put splitfires in? atm the plugs are gapped at 0.8. thanks -

Hot / Warm Start Issues R33
R33silverS2 replied to R33silverS2's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeh tried taking the cover off and made no differenence unfortunately -
I just saw this on the news, it was actually a gunmetal r32, it should have probably said 1991 not 2001. They conventiently used the term - drivers caught 'skylarking'... also showed a burgundy r33 with p plates on it as well. Probably wouldnt have even got coverage if it was a different car.
