  1. I have the high pitched whining noise in my speakers, which as I've seen on the forums, alot of people seem to have. The difference is though my stereo was working fine for about 6 months, then I was driving along one day and went over a bump in the road which caused the car to jolt pretty hard, then straight after that the speakers started to whine, so loud I thought I was going to go deaf! Anyway my setup: 4 speakers run off amp, RCA's one side of the car, power the other side, kicker amp in the boot. Front kicker splits have cross overs. I was hoping someone might have an idea what could cause this to happen from a sudden jolt to the car, might help point me in the right direction to find the solution. I also rechecked all the grounds tonight too, something interesting is that when I didnt have the headunit grounded, but turned the car on (so the headunit DIDNT turn on) I still heard whine through all the speakers. Any help would be massively appreciated.
  2. Spotted a silver r32 on isabella drive this arvo about 5.30, got a wave, not sure if you saw me wave back. Spotted a r32 yesterday at ex government furniture store in fyshwick, and met the owner too ^_^
  3. Thanks for the input guys. I think it must have been rewired at some stage, because all the colours are different to standard. I worked out what the 12+ battery and 12+ ignition were, so I have power to my head unit (it looks sick:P ) but now i need to figure out which speakers are which. The wiring harness, although it is the same as the oem, wasnt rewired the same way, which i learnt when working out the power cables. I trialed quite a few combinations but couldnt get any sound to come out of my speakers (it was trying 2 cables in with all the different other cables). Im not sure if the factory amplifier needs to be connected, and if it does i have no idea which cable it is (or what it goes to on my head unit), is there any way to work this out? Also is there any way to work out the speaker cable pairs?
  4. I just bought an R32 and it came with no head unit, the guy pulled it out just before he put it up for sale. I bought a head unit today and started reading up on installing it myself (helped with my previous VL install), but I seem to have different coloured wires to the wiring guide . I dunno if it has been re wired, but I seem to be missing green and pink wires with the addition of a few other colours. Is there any way other then tracing them to the speakers to work out what is what? There seems to be a few of the same coloured blue ones too :S If worst comes to worst I dont mind paying someone to do it, but id rather learn myself. Any ideas?
  5. Thats my r32 in phillip, the YDT one. Was going to the gym (elite) which is right near there. Kind of creepy seeing a picture of your car that you didnt take lol
  6. It would have to be a topic about food to get me posting lol I recommend: Rubicon - Griffith Shops (my favourite in canberra) Gus' - Civic Milk and Honey - Civic (small meals but tasty) Viet behind Hagi baba in weston Jimmy's - dickson (My favourite chinese) Taekee - Dickson (best barbequed chinese meats especially duck) Pho Quoc - Dickson (really good viet soup (Pho) ) Hoggs breath is really inconsistent, last few times I have had good steaks and burgers, but I dont think they really care about the presentation of the meal. They have also tried to pass off normal steak as their slow cooked steak once and it wasnt till my friend complained did they admit or and gave him a discount and some 25% coupons.
