  1. did anything ever eventuate with shan's idea of the mock up police GTR's?? I always thought that was a good idea...
  2. OK just picked my car.. and have to admit, leaving it in the factory black looks might awesome. Had a chat with my mate the panel beater, and asked him what he thought of the quality of the lip, an how whether it gave hime trouble fitting or not. He reckons he's seen much better finishes, and assumes that the UAS lip mould was probably taken from a busted lip which was pieced together again. The panel beater spent a bit of time making shaping the lip to make it look schmick, which in the end, both he & I were both rapt about. Overall, the lip looks awesome, and for a measly ~$500, including the lip, delivery, fitting and spraying it was definatley worth it, just pray I don't go scraping out of low driveways.. PS: I just picked the car up, and it's p!issing down rain here in Melbourne. I'll try to take some pics over the weekend.
  3. Hi knore, I can only tell you what I've been told by the dealer. As far as I know, we were the first to place an order on the "expected release of the next GTR" in australia, over a year ago. Obviously anticipating the release later this year, until our buddy Ghosn had his input on it, ut our order is still there. We where told amongst other things, the price was expected to be around $130K. At the time of placing our order, we were told "forgot his name" the boss of Nissan AU, was in japan havng discussion on what engine choice AU would get.. I suppose we'll have to take it with a grain of salt for the time being, who knows, our main man Ghosn might suprise us again.. something like "we have dropped the gtr from the nissan line-up"

  5. I am told the car will be ready tomorrow... fingers crossed! Then i'll post some pics.
  6. Hi Blitz, sorry mate at the momet just in fibre glass, no carbon fibre.. But I have the carbon fibre wing blade on my gtr, which I'll probably be taking off when I sell the car.. Definatley looks horn, and when I do I'll keep you in mind.
  7. Hmm... lincoln. rings a bell, there were about 10drivers that day, but the most popular one was Peter (aka - HOLLYWOOD) Hackett. I must say it sounds like your defensive course is similar to what we did that day... And if it's anything to go by, awesome day, lots of learning, and those high speed braking/slalom were very interesting!
  8. Thanks Kev, one last question.. is this the "defensive" Advanced course from your website?? http://www.driverdynamics.com/defensive.php Coz if it is we just completed this with Peter Hackett/Paul Stokle at Sandown about 2 weeks ago.. But if your talking about the Advanced "2" course http://www.driverdynamics.com/advanced.php, then I'll probably book the whole day aaaah why not maybe even the whole 2 days
  9. Hi Kev, Count me in, I just need you to confirm: > how many places do you have to fill? > Are we using our own cars? And I'll lt you know what day we'd like Sat or Sun. Cheers Simon
  10. after reading some threads, I'm sure I remembered the gtr BOV's were more than good enough for High HP applications & there was no need for AM BOV's... Could be wrong, but also interested.
  11. actually, the more I look at the front end of the red GTR pic I posted, the moe it reminds me of the recent Audi Concept Car (I think it is called) RSR?? Hmmm! love the rest of it, not sure about the front end looks like it needs to point up a bit more rather than sloping down.
  12. Here's a pic from the UK that is claimed to be the next GTR testing at the cosworth track in the UK... it resembles your photchop. And here's another very recent pic of the next GTR?? I have'nt seen this one before have you REZZ??
  13. thanks Rezz, I think that just confirms most of the rumours over the past year or so, the e4WD, electric motors at the wheels, VQ32DETT, and who could forget the assisted spooling turbos.. I'm interested in these electric motors at the wheels, and wondered if you have any input seeing your closer to the source. I read a recent article how Lexus maybe fitting these to the next GS models, the motor would make aprox 300kw + 150kw electric motors would be fitted to the front wheels. The benefit claimed is instant torque/power...WOW!

    Racepace...

Well hypertech we're indeed very well known amongst other things for their extreem pricing & apexi distributorship. However I recently heard they have stopped dealing with the public and know focus on racing.
  15. it's good for all the above, low maintenace, damn reliable, cheap as to run, runs on the smell of petrol, good looking small sporty car, easy to find & cheap parts, potential aftermarket options, and only come in manual!.. so if you can;t drive manual, then forget looking for a swift.
  16. the suspence is killing me .. I guess though not as much as you! Can't wait.
  17. a little off the topric, but how's your car coming along mark ?
  18. Chris, I think meggala has one of those diagnosis units that plugs into factory nissan ecu's?
  19. i thpught that blue 34 was infact an english based car?? and if I remember right, it certainly does make 1000hp.. the car is full of HKS gear.
  20. do a search under the "Forced Induction" forum, there's a thread about the power N1's make o a GTR. Generally speaking, around the 280-300kw.. with a very good spool response.
  21. We'll If I had the knowhow like most of you guys here, My dream would be to transplant a GTR including all the running gear, suspension, motor, 4wd system etc into an AC Cobra replica... Now that would have to be some ball tearing ride!
  22. Finally, I have organised a deal with Unique Autosports (UAS) on the Series 3 GTR Lips. Now, some have had concerns about the quality of the UAS lips.. and going by the lip we received yesterday, it's actually not that bad. the only concern was on the left air vent, the finish could have been better, (which means the panel beater will spend a little extra time to fill it up) the rest of the lip is very nice, even the factory black ripple finish looks awesome. I'll try to organise some pics on Monday, and include the slight imperfections. John from Unique Autosports (UAS) is offering the following for all SAU forum members: whether you order 1 or 100, there is no waiting for numbers. $240.00 +(delivery, approx $50-80). (normally $295.00) Turn around is usually within 2weeks. So for those lucky enough to be nearby in NSW, that $240.00 All you need to do is mention you saw the offer on SAU forum. 23. I suppose that's the key to insurance... Tell them everything!!! It's always nice to have peace of mind "just in case" you need to make a claim. Remember it's in their interest to both pay a claim, but if they have a reason (small or large) to avoid paying then I guess they will. Insurance companies can be quite funny the way they quote a premium on a car.. last year we sold our car "CLK430" the premium was usually around $2K per annum. When our new car arrive "E55" we rang to get cover, they quoted us $1550...?? our mouths dropped! we said "are you sure you have the quoted us on the right car?" And indeed she was, they even sent us the cheque for the difference between the two covers. Didn't make sense that a car worth twice as much, with nearly twice the hoon factor could be ~25% cheaper to insure.. maybe because it was a four door opposed to a two door.
