a mate's got the 2003 BMW M3 SMG 2, he's been braggin how he does gtr's all day everyday, hyndai . When he knew I picked up gtr, he was hangin to run me. So we did, with a short whislte I turn to him & say no probs, lights green & go.... left him there like a baby lost in a shopping centre screaming for it's mum. Get to the next lights, I'm laughing & he yells out "that's cause it's 4WD... aren't all gtr's 4WD??" I'm in the E55 had it for a week, hero's in a 355 spider, look over & say "hey mate nice car maybe one day you'll be able to afford a real car like this 355" my bro looks at me & laughs, so I say "hmmm - switch the esp off for a tick smokem at the lights, as there eyes pop out of their heads I say let's go at green"... story short "I whipped them harder than a Mr whippy soft serve" & just to rub it in, as they followed us into our industrial estate.... I slowed to a close stop, flicked the esp off & began my version of "The Limo Driver" around his 355. After the smoke cleared, & the drivers eyes popped back into his head, my bro yells out "can your real car do that with 4passenger, without sending you broke....tossa..then a royale salute of the birds" & then hi ho, hi ho off to work we go hi, ho, hi, ho, hi, ho"

Electronic Boost Controllers - pretty, pretty, please :)
meshmesh replied to meshmesh's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for the reply guys... At the moment the Power FC is getting fitted & tuned. I have a turbosmart bleed valve runnin around 1bar, with the stock GTR turbos. I'm not looking at more than 1bar for the turbos at this stage until I upgrade. I guess all I'd like is constant boost, no fancy pictures/graph, & most important reliable boost with "no" spiking. Money isn't an issue as I guess when I take away some of the wank factor most them are about the same figure. Nengun have the Greddy Profec B Spec 2 for around $450 delivered. I really haven't heard any bad things about the profec Bspec apart from Ben at racepace who swore by the HKS 3 & 4 saying they were the only controllers not to spike on the gtr's?? -
Don't go there! I been doing the searches since 3pm this avo "not happy JAN!!" I'd like your opinions on the following EBC's.. these are what I have narrowed my options down to for the GTR. 1. HKS EVC IV 2. Profec B Spec II "still trying to work out this difference between B Spec & B Spec II" 3. Profec A "Older but apparantley more features than the B Spec II" a) I HAVE established that... - dual solenoids are better than singles. - all the units are fuzzy logic - as informed by ben @ racepace the HKS EVC is the best he's seen? B) I HAVE NOT established... - whether fuzzy logic is good or not?? at this stage reports are 50/50 each way. - is it safe buying a used EBC unit, considering the conditions of solenoids? - if soleniods need replacing can I buy them seperatly for any of the avove EBC's? thanks

I'm after a profec B spec II.. do you have any available??

I got a quote from "Famous Classic Car Insurance" for the GTR @ $1710, & was very happy. Until I read about issues with underwriters etc.. in this thread. Had me worried, so I rang "Just Cars" they cam to the party @$1730 with rating protection. Being underwritten by AAMI "which I'm also insured with" made me very happy.

meshmesh replied to Kaido_RR's topic in General Automotive Discussion

I'm pretty sure the Trust Full Auto TT, also needs to be hooked up the Hand Brake, & a wire goes to the ECU.

Plexus, Plexus & Plexus. I USE: Interior - Plastics, Chromes, Timbers, Everything expect carpets & cloth seats: Plexus Exterior - Everything, tyres, windows, rubbers, body panels (except the front windscreen): Plexus Engine Bay - Rubbers, Plastic etc..: Plexus. MY ORDER when washing the cars: Enclosed area is a must eg: I use the garage 1. Vaccum interior, boot etc.. 2. Hoist the car up, steam clean the under carriage, engine bay, then all the hard to get areas eg: door jams, boot jam.. etc 3. Wash with the stuff "forgot the name" but by it through a mate in bulk "for detailing" 4. Chamois dry 5. Can't find it anymore but the best "non cutting polish" is Fireglaze (make sure its the Petroleum base not the citrus - you can smell the difference) At the moment, I dont polish, and just wax. Maybe once every 6months to a year I use Maguires Polish Cleaner, it doesnt cut & just cleans the surface clear of any waxes, previous polishes & road grime, Only then will I use a polish. After polishing I let it cure for a day or at least 12 hours, then come back & wax. When I polish or wax, I by from the chemist cotton wool rolls for babies it's usally about $5 a roll & about 2metres in length. I tear the cotton wool in a hand size bunch, apply the polish/wax to the car in nice long strokes about 2feet at a time, working the polish/wax into the car body. I dont apply it in a circular motion like a buffer. The reason I use the cotton wool rolls, coz I haven't found anything softer & I dont think you will either. After the polish has dried (i normally like to give it an hour or so - believeing the longer the better), I buff it "again in long strokes - not circular" with the cotton wool, getting as much as possible off, then I go over it one more time with another clean piece of cotton wool. Then I repeat the whole process again the next day, applying the wax. (obviously I give the car a light wash). After the wax has cured I then apply the Plexus to the body panels, & full exterior. Long but always worth it. meshmesh

Car wont boost, feels like standard 6
meshmesh replied to Eav00l's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Eav00l, In Victoria we a something called the "Small Claims Tribunial", costs you around $5-10 to lodge a hearing... See if you guys have one in NSW. Something similar happened to a friend, & as advised, rather than send the car back to the inital service centre who stuffed it up, we had an independent mechanic check the car out, which he determined was a cause of the initalial mechanic putting down in writing. We then asked for him to fix the car. Prior to this, it is probably best you see if the initial centre will attempt to fix the problem. In your case they obviously deny it. So after we got the car fixed by the independent mechanic, we notified the initial mechanic who stuffed it up that we were about to take them to court "being the Small Claims Tribunial" & we would only stop the action if they agreed to pay the bill from the independant mechanic. A couple of issues you may want to raise is that time is $$ to the mechanic, and being in court will take up most of the day... In our case we won, & had all the costs paid for. Since then the mechanic has closed and nowhere to be seen. Hope that helps. meshmesh -
You may need to confirm for yourself whether Garrett make/have what your after. As for company details, I don't think they supply direct to public so other co's seling the garret may have an issue with some of the prices. Eg: Ray Halls.

I got ICE Performance to fit mine the other day, whilst the car was there. But here is the direct link to the English version Manual, for the Full Auto Turbo Timer. http://greddy.com/Technical/pdf/GReddyTT.pdf

Hi Guys, Just spoke to one supplier "OF" Garrett turbos, enquiring about a GT25 "320hp" for the GTR. I asked if we could negotiate a better deal for the SAU members, He said, they would offer us a discount around 10%. They can supply us anyturbo by Garrett, you just need to let me know. I'm not a turbo guru so if anyone noes something I don't please let me know. To give you an example the: 1. GT25 "320hp" Roller Bearing for the GTR was $1590 (inc Gst) less 10% = $1430 Inc GST 2. He also mention something about the turbo upgrade for a GTR by Garrett which where around $3100each?? Said something about being a direct replacement GT30, when compared to the GT25 was chalk and cheese. Couldthese be the same as gcg upgrade turbo http://www.gcg.com.au/catalogue/Tur...html#gtr_bolton Any how if the prices are good & anyones interested, I will then set up a Group buy. I was thinking if this all works, & please, only if your serious. Rather than ring & hassle the compnay every minute with prices & specs. I would collate the specs & at the end of the day/week request the prices. Anyway, if anyone else can organise a better deal let me know cause I am after a set for my self. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - GT25 - $1430 (320hp) GT28 - $1785 (350-390hp) GT28 - $1850 (440-500hp) GT30 - $1910 GT35/40 - $1910 All prices include GST & The turbos are brand new with standard manufactuers warranty - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Cam Gear setting on a GTR RB26DETT
meshmesh replied to meshmesh's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I could be wrong on the settings, but I know they were mid rangfe power & that I would loose top end. -
Guys, just wondering if the following adjustable cam gear setting would be ok. "I dont know which of the these is IN or EX so just use your knowledge to work it out" +4degrees & -6degrees I'm a little concerne as I thought it was normally something like +4degrees & -1degree The car is stock, except for: Exhaust from front to back Bleed Valve HKS Pods Cam Gears & Power FC Thanks meshmesh

franks, Sort of "Off the topic", but I thought honda had a semi recall on the S2000, because the cars wouldn't handl correctly. If I recall correctly, Apparantley the only tyre that correctly fits the S2000 is a particular Bridgstone S02??
-
Bueller :Paranoid: Bueller :Paranoid: Anyone??
-
JimX, I think if the tyre shop wants your business, considering your buying new tyres.. ask them will they throw in the nitrogen at no cost. Otherwise, I'm sure someplace else will. PS: there a lot more profit in tyres than the "I'm only making $10 a tyre a that price"
-
I was offered it for free, so what the heck I did it. Heres a couple of things i've noticed on the GTR over the past week or so. -->NB: I'm no expert 1. Even in a straigt line, the torque split gauge rises about a qtr under throttle. Where this never happened, with air in the tyre, unless it was wet. 2. The ride seems a little harder 3. With the air in the tyres, the tyres felt a little doughy & soft "yes they were pumped, pressure was ~36psi", & the steering a little heavier. Now, the steering is lighter & feels more like pin sharp steering. 4. The rear tyres grip level may have been sacrificed ??? Overall, Im happy to keep using it As far as helium goes, I know just the song... I think Engleburt Humpington sang it.. "up, up & away in my beautiful, my beautiful gaaaattttrrrrr"
