  1. i think all tyres are pretty good at first.. To me its when they hit ~20K mark??? What are they like then.
  2. Sorted it all out , That's what happens when you end up following a referral from SAU, & 3 in 10 refferals are half wits. The last shop as I stated in my thread above, was talking about a GT-T pipes, until I explained for the tenth time, it's a GTR Sunshine, you know the twin turbo... :Bang: "ooooh" he says, "we do skylines all the time, we're the biggest in the country, the system I was talking about is for the Single turbo." His next question was "what's your budget we can do you front pipes for around $1000." when I ummmed & rrrrrd "with dis-belief", he suspected my budget was not that much, so he says, "some people only earn $400pw & some earn a couple of grand, if your budget is tight we can do you a system for around $400~ but it will be a cheap system"... I replied "mate, I wish I earned $400pw, I'm on the dole?? how much can you a system for now". Then I just hung up. Thanks heeps guys.
  3. Thanks Jay, I can get a 3" system which includes the dumps & front pipe from "mufflers now" but worried coz this system has no flex joint, & also told that 3" is too big & would drone alot. Where as most front pipe systems seem to be dual 2.5" into a single 3". I'm not worried about the droning that much but thought the benefits of the dump included in this system would help alot more.
  4. Guys, I'm really lost here... , Trying to organise an exhaust system for the GTR R33, current I've got form the cat back & want to do the front section.. Some places call it "front pipe", then some say "do you mean the engine pipe?", & on top of that do you mean "from the turbos".. :bonk: I have attached some pics, from UAS site.. But all I want is to replace the front section, The dumps I'm not worried about at this stage coz I'm running stock turbos. But a place in Victoria "mufflers Now" apparantley have a 3in system from the turbos back including the dumps, but this system has no flex joint. Please if someone can tell me what the name is or what I should be asking for I would really appreciate it. UAS Site calls these Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 Front Pipes UAS Site calls these ones UAS Stainless 2 1/2 Inch Engine Pipes with Flex Pipe Thanks.
  5. I'm trying to do the numbers & the cost to lose 100kg=*20-30kw gain doesn't add up when compared to common performance upgrades eg: Exhaust, cam gears, ECU, bleed valves...etc A True Carbon bonnets must be worth around $2K+ fake fibreglass ones around $1K. Things I can think of would be: 1. Titanium Cat back exhausts 2. I generally find Manufacturers add a lot of fancy covers, slicencer & protectors to the exhaust under-carriage. Either replacing the front half of the system or if possible removng these items. 3. Wonder what all your stereo system would way.. speakers, amps, subbies, CD Changer, deck...etc 4. I'm not sure if this is true, that each litre of liquid eg: fuel, water =1kg. If correct, then I would drive around with a minimum of fuel maybe qtr tank = saving of 40-50kg. Empty the water bottle for the window washer saving 3-5 kg. If keeping the cars looks & driving comfort isn't an issue then I would also add things like: 1. Carpets, door trims & sound deadning 2. All the crappy pieces of plastic under the guards, the under carriage, rear boot...etc 3. Spoilers, side skirts, maybe even replacing the side glass windows with that plastic stuff?? I'd assume with no real knowledge at a 50-75kg weight reduction. Overall I still think, lighter parts = more $$$cost than simple performance upgrades.
  6. Wasn't trying to make a joke about it. I actually thought this would back your statement about weight saving & if you read the article they highlight the gains by removal of differencent parts. Fair enough the story a bit on the light side, but I & may be others dont really understand the true benefits of weight reduction, & most think Horsepower Gain is priority above all else.
  7. Don't do this to me Merli My initial order was Power FC, HC & the EBC. Spoke to Nigel from ICE & nearly every one else said the Apexi EBC was shy-zen-howzen because it only had 1 solenoid. They all said the best was the Profec B or something like that. But they could fix the bleed valve to work just fine. I was told not to worry about these unless I'm looking at hi-flowing or changing the turbos.
  8. This should really give some ideas about weight saving..."long read but worth it" http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=776885
  9. I have a guy who comes to you for $240 does mostly dealer work. Tony 0402 797 948 "his english aint the best, but he's works is excellent" Did my wifes Saab some time ago very happy & I'm getting him to do my E55 next week.... now that will be fun!!!!
  10. Guys, i'm "tossin:bahaha: " up what mods to do to my car R33 GTR. At the moment it's pretty stock "bar the cat back exhaust, pods & turbosmart bleed thingy valve". I have ordered the Power FC & Hand Controller and about to contemplate the following mods... what do you think, as I've heard various opinions from reputable performance shops. PS: I'm not after qtr mile times, sprints etc.. just a reliable "every second" daily driver that goes a bit harder & breathes easier than stock. Mods to go with existing - Pods, Bleed thingy Valve, Cat Back exhaust. 1. Power FC & HC (which tuner - In Vic) - I know many will say ICE, but I was also told the man to see is Vinnie from Sti Dockland "x owner of BGT - AKA Hyper Tech - AKA Apexi King". Also told without software hand controller only accesses about 30% of the functions. 2. Front Pipe - I know a good exhaust shop that's done most of my cars. Thinking of getting a custom made rather than Brand Name. 3. Cat - Told the stock cat is excellent for my basic mods. 4. Heatshield for Pods & CAI - Goes without saying hmmm. 5. Adjustable Cam Gears - I'm a little worried here again hearing various opinions from tuners. Most say it's the best choice, ICE have re manufactured GTR Gears for 220 change-over. But I'm worried if there not centred correctly or done properly whether they could damage the motor. Thanks meshmesh

  12. I've driven all 3 GTR's 32, 33 & 34. Though the 34 is my preference. I think, for the money, the 33 is the best value of them all. If you've ever driven the porsche turbo's, the 32 would be the 993 Turbo, plain & basic, rough, tough, pyschotic little spoilet brat. The 33 is the "Manual not the tiptronic" 996 Turbo, a few luxuries, smooth criminal, big, has a presence with a mix of Bill Goldberg & Al Capone. The 34??? we'll talk about that later. **Also - this thing about 32's being quicker, hmmm?? Realistically speaking...it's not like you'll notice the difference between them all.
  13. Everything looks really nice, but that boot  that looks like a really neat job. I'm getting a headache just thinking about the work that went into that. congrats!
  14. Jamezilla I could have sworn on saw your red convertible "hummer;) " on Nepean Hwy Brighton..? Anyway, now you know the car please dont drive over with your Hummer:D
  15. Thanks for the compliment mate.. but I still wipe my own "@ss" so i'm no different to you guys. Let leave the Mums & wives out of this OK - I'm 29 - Got kicked out of school in Year 10 - Property "with my family" By the way, I haven't picked up E55 yet. 2 more weeks. Though it is the country. Honestly, I prefer driving the GTR, but the E55 is a V8 & nothing sound like a V8 especially supercharged.
  16. Here are the pics... tried to also get a close up of the rim. PS: Note - these were off my CLK so no smart comments about the Benz / AMG logos I planned to change them. Thanks for the help guys. I ended up fitting the originals this morning & how happy am I
  17. dunno if this helps, but.... Like most of you, I been through a heep of different tyres.. The best allround performance I ever had & still have are the Michelin Pilot X. A bit pricey but they're as quiet as mouse and grip like the all mighty. Falkens:( personally I'd stay away from them. The last set I bought I think they're were ST115's they were suppose to replace the GB's. Had them on a rex for a month "I would have been better riding on bare rims & took em " Got the Michelins & never looked back.
  18. Best person to speak to is Kyp from: Advanced TURBO Performance 1198 Dandenong Rd Murrumbeena, Vic. 3163 Australia (61-3) 9569 4764
  19. I'll buy them, could you please arrange delivery to Melbourne via Australia Post. Also if it's OK I would like to arrange a COD transfer via Australia Post. Let me know, Thanks. Simon Mobile: 0413 44 88 99
  20. This morning, I'll be putting the originals back on. As I was driving, the "4WD" light started to flash.. I am hoping by putting back the stockies should fix this. I am correct?

  22. I'll try to post some pics while there on the car tonight. Tomorrow back to the tyre joint to get the stockkies fitted .
  23. Thanks people, appreciate the responses!
  24. To be honest with you... dunno what the brand is but I haven't seen any other car with them. I have had them for about 2years, they were originally of my CLK Benz. The offset for the rear is OK, however the front stick a little more into the guard thean normal. Again dunno if this is an issue aswell???
