Merli, Wasn't there recently a thread, about sump baffles and Ben from Racepace (can't recall exactly the quote) but mentioned baffles aren't neccessary, it's all about the oil you use on a track??

Seriously, imagine if we organised as many car clubs eg: subaru, nissan, toyato honda, mazda etc etc.. in every state and held the protest all on the same day! Then held another protest 2 weeks later, but each state would do it on a different day! That would equal about 1months worth of media, which would have to impact some law changes. Otherwise we can all just sit hear whinging about the cops, EPA, and ADR crap.

I've tried to keep my engine bay as stock as possible. Even my Catch is painted black, the Intercooler is black.. and if a pig too smart I might throw in a couple Black Eyes for FREE! Im sure we are still using the factory wiring. But what Sydneykid said is what I was told to do if we continued to have problems. As far as the pump being noisy??? Mine isn't at all noisy, sometimes you can "just" hear it prime but definately not noisy.

Detailing your car. Ive attached 2 PDF's Cleaning the Engine Bay > I first degrease the engine bay, I use the [forget the name, but they make chamois and other car stuff, I think it's calle] Kayco, Kanko? degreaser...best I've used. let it sit for a couple of minutes. > Then I wash the degreaser off using a steam cleaning thin-a-ma-bobby, they cost around $100 > Then I give everything that rubber/plastic a spray with Plexus (avaiable from Autobahn @$15~can (best stuff ever) > Finanly, all metal, steel chrome I use [forget the name again, sorry] it's in a yellow tin can, and is filled with a clotch type material you tear as you go. Firstly, I don't know all the technicals and only remember the basics.. since going to the bosch 044 we initially had a similar problem, and in some case the car would not start for some time. So here's what we did.. 1) Checked the battery and found we had a shitty 280cc (good for suzuki swifts) replaced this with a maintenance free ~450cc battery [this helped a great deal] 2) Check that your connector thingo's to the bosch pump are securely attached, we ended up soldering them on. [this definately help fuel pressure] 3) An option we were told to try if we wanted to was add a relay.. [we have not bothered trying this yet, coz all is sweet now] Overall, our problem is pretty much fixed, initally it was similar to you Merli, but now it's all sweet. Basically you need to prime the Bosch Pump, if it doesn't start "normally" on the first try, switch it off, turn it to ignition and let the pump prime for about 5seconds then it should start, otherwise do it one more time. I rarely have to do it more than twice.

I will try to answer your Q on 1 condition... you tell us how the car feels now it sort of finshed ... give me 2 minutes so I can peel these mandarins.

That's a very fast turn-around, I'm quite suprised. Good to hear Famous are on the ball and by the sounds of your claim, actually try to look after their customers, considering they're going to loose your business and re-insure you again. I might give Famous a try when our policy runs out. Anyone have any ideas on whether Famous will Insure an R34 GTR in Victoria?

Andrew, Be careful if going by BMW specs of oils, because I spoke to a mate from BMW Melbourne for gerald, about the oil they used in the BMW Getrags, he said be careful because the older BMW getrags (can't recall exactly but think) prior 1999-2000 used one type and the newer Getrags used something else. I know one was a BMW type ATF and the other can't remember.

I'm not sure how different the GTR's airbox is compared to the GTT's amd others... but I chose to remove the HKS Pods, and re-fit the Factory GTR airbox with a KN Filter.. We still got around the 310-320kw @rear wheels, and to add to that we are still using the factory dump pipes off the turbo and stock GTR cat?? I'd be interested on what you think SK about that, coz I know you think otherwise.
