Boost Creep =dead Reaving(r32 Rb20det)
Crans replied to BOOZTJUNKEY's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah if it was leaking enough it cause these issues. Can you tighten the spring on it? -
Boost Creep =dead Reaving(r32 Rb20det)
Crans replied to BOOZTJUNKEY's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Colder nights? -
If a stronger spring, say a 25psi spring was fitted then the boost will spike to 25psi(Alot more than you obviously want to run) and then slowly taper off to say 18psi. External gate, Stoa's gate controller or deal with the drop off are your only options

dont the split dump pipes foul on the wastgate arm? this would cause over boost then causing you to hit the last row in the timing map which is severly retarded -
Tacho Broke On Dyno, Twitches Up And Down At Idle

Haha just a though here i am telling you to sort your alternator out when my own is causing me problems. -

Jarod i also read somewhere that the PowerFC likes a clean power source while the stock ecu will deal with crappy power alot better. Get your alternator checked and make sure she pumping out enough power after the little misshap -
Tuning Shops Locking Your Ecu's Tune
Crans replied to NW007's topic in General Automotive Discussion
They way I see it you are contracting the work out there for you own the end result. You are not buying an end product, if you were there would be a flat charge for the desired end result. Who here has had an engine blow up due to a bad tune and have actually had the work shop own up to it? Probably no one therefor they can't play the warranty card. Ring the ACCC and lodge a complaint. -
Give the AFM a clean, Also look at the tune, there has been a bit of discussion on the Nistune forums regarding drive quality when using the Z32 ECU on the RB25. Pretty sure STATUS had a map he used as a base for tuning these cars that sorted out these issues
-
Not giving bad feed back at all, when boost does come on it feels very strong. I am going to tune the car my self and get it checked and adjusted on a dyno. Like a lot of people i would prefer to do most of the work my self and learn on the way.

Yes i understand boost response is different between the gears and exponential growth in spool. I just didn't realise there would be over 1000rpm difference between 2nd and 4th not to mention extreme lag is still a problem I am only doing basic mapping on the street i.e. getting fueling as close to perfect as i can and getting some extra timing in to help response, the rest will be done on a dyno. I have tuned other cars before with ok results and being very safe and reliable still. Based on this dyno print out of boost vs RPM http://www.digi-hardware.com/images/dynosh...3boost15psi.jpg i should be making 6psi by 3000rpm and 10psi by around 3300rpm
-
No Dyno yet in the process of raod tuning the car, maybe i haven't been aggressive enough on the timing Also going to replace my oil drain as i suspect maybe there is a kink in it
-
ok so then its still has extreme lag. Any one got a dyno sheet of the ATR43G3 showing boost and rpm?

Hey Sau, Check Out This Video I Made. Do You Like It?

Awsome you have inspired me to go find a 5 speed eb falcon pine forrest here i come -
The reason Nistune will be costing you more is you have an R33 so you will need either a z32 or rb20 ecu aswell as the nistune board. But still $1500 is a bit rich
-
In 1st and 2nd i'm not getting 10psi till after 5000rpm just noticed this morning in 4th and 5th im getting 10psi around 4000rpm. So theres slightly over 1000rpm difference, don't forget Stao said this turbo should be getting 20psi by 4300 so i would epect 10psi by say 3200 - 3500
-
I just gave my car a little right foot on the freeway in 4th gear and noticed i was hitting 10psi at 4000rpm instead of after 5000rpm. So I'm guessing my lag issue is all in the tune. Can it really make that big of a difference
-
mount the solinoid on some rubber its very noisy other wise. quick test turn off boost controller
-
Get a tune for 98 and get a tune for e85 use the nistune software to switch between the maps
-
Both are type 2 boards and both ecu's use the same processor so it should just be as simple as burning the 26 rom to the board and tuning from there.

Plenty of preload, alos hav a nice big stainless steel intake pipe same size as the turbo inlet and car for the moment has no bov
