  1. Just purchased this baby http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280888955085?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Hopefully get it here in time for weekend tinkering
  2. Why the hell not, got a mate that will probably need the WB Controller anyway. PM me bank details, and i'll transfer $50 + $10 for shipping to WA when i get paid at the start of the month Cheers
  3. After forking out $1000 over the last few years for intercooler piping dump pipes exhaust systems to be fabricated i finially decided it was time to learn to tig and start saving my self some money(Not to mention a heap more tinker time, we all love tinker time). I looked around at all the TIG options for the last month and decided a simple little 180amp DC TIG would do the job. Headed down to WeldSmart in Perth's southern suburbs to buy my new toy. I must say the sales guy was good, I ended up walking out with a 200amp AD/DC Tig for a very discounted price. http://www.weldsmart.com.au/welding-australia/tig-welders-gtaw/tig200acdc-pulse-200-amp-tig-pulse-mma-inverter-welder-new-euro-design This is the same welder BOC sell for over $2000 The welder came with a tig tourch, ARC Lead and foot pedal. Had a bit of a play with it the next night, using the left over MIG gas my mate had. Here are our not very pretty extreme amature results: As well as the crappy welding I got some nice UV burns on my arms and slight warming up on the face. Lesson learned long sleve shirt is a must. Spend the next night watching youtube videos and researching how to properly setup the TIG and learned the importance of working with clean materials. A simple wirebrushing is not enough. So today armed with a bit more knowledge i managed to do a little better: We also started modifying an old trolley that used to have a wodden top to be our new welding bench. Here are some pics of a new steel plate being welded to the top of the bench: Here is a pic of a longer weld ground down flush, You can see the weld penetrated pretty well: I will update this thread in the next few days with the finished bench, as well as any other work I do.
  4. Any chance you want to sell the rj45 splitter seperatly? PM with a price if your willing.
  5. Any fabricators want to share any tip/tricks or even do a how to on how to weld a wg to the exhaust housing? I plan on giving this a go if I'm not happy with my current wg setup
  6. Thought about the high end adaptronic? Very very configurable with the inputs and outputs download the software and have a look
  7. There is too much scooter love on this forum, is that saying something about skylines
  8. Yeah true I got stuck in the big down pore afew weeks ago was not much fun at all
  9. Scooter for the win while the skyline is off the road saves heaps of money aswell I'm back from holidays Thursday pm me and I'll remote in to your laptop take control of your serial port and download your tune for you
  10. Do we have any results here from this turbo? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Turbocharger-4-TD06SL2-25G-T3-10cm-V-Band-External-450P-/290717039580?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43b015fbdc#ht_2463wt_1139
  11. Noting is wrong with the hypergear turbo it still works perfectly. I have upgraded to a top mount manifold and Tial WG so the whole setup has changed. I need a new rear housing for the ExGate. I can sell the turbo to a friend(Including dump oil lines intake pipes 3 actuators) buy a new one and have some cash left over to go towards making a new dump I was looking at getting Hypergears gt35r equivilent but have not seen any proven results. Really just weighing up the options i have
  12. I have been looking at buying one of these turbos, but it seams they are not water cooled. Is this correct? Any real disadvantage to this? This is the one I'm looking at http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Turbocharger-4-Anti-Surge-T67-25G-T3-10-cm-V-Band-Housing-/290714087600?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43afe8f0b0#ht_2379wt_1396 Target is 450hp with a little room for more when a 3L goes in.
  13. can the wastegate arm move freely?
  14. I'll add to that it's probably only R33's they dont want to Nistune.
  15. What are you doing about the aircon line and the wastegate port? Mine sits on top of each other. My current plan is to wrap the aircon line in reflective heat wrap and use steel cable ties to hold it to the chaiis as tight as possable. Will this work?
  16. Got the stock manifold off tonight, had the oppersite problem the studs had already been changed and not tightened enough so the nuts that got stuck just unscrewed the studd stud still shiny and everything, previous owner changed the gaskit as it way not the stock one and obviously he re did all the studs. About time i had some luck on this car. Will try to dummy fit the manifold tonight/tomorrow and get some pics up
  17. Mate totally agree those sort of comments are constructive. The buy a decent manifold comments should be removed not helping anyone. Any way nearly got the turbo off today. Couldnt find my 8mm ratchet spanner to undo the dump and got destracted cleaning the shed, then started setting up my rack and server and now im drunk. Hopefully finish it off tomorrow
  18. Simply bridge both the afm signal wires to the 1 afm and take car of the rest in tuning. Pretty simple really.
  19. All the welders in this thread altho you are all correct, you are focusing too much on perfection since your in the trade you know the best way to do it and if you have any pride in the work you put out you would do it the best way possible As long as they work well does this other stuff really matter that much? Any inprovement over the stock/ebay stainless manifold is worth i expecially at this price. I am starting to trial fit mine today will post an update if i get that far. For some reasion when ever i work on my car beer gets in the way
  20. 6boost manifold are not perfect, how many have boost control issues? Roy went backwards with one. Friend of mine had to get his gate welded to his turbine housing for better boost control on his 6boost. The collectors are pretty the welds are pretty and the price is pretty... expensive. Saying all that i dont doubt they are a better manifold, but im chasing 400hp and in the future with a built engine 500hp i dont see this manifold have any issues with that goal.
  21. Sign me up for the SS3 conversion of my turbo Stao. As long as it will fit on a top mount manifold. The manifold has an outlet for a 44mm Wastegate so it should be a good test bed for this turbo. How long till you have it ready. I don't mind waiting a month or 2 not in too much of a hurry.
  22. Will the G3 or SS3 like having 24-26PSI choked out of it? I have a need to blow my 25 so the wife "Approves the 3L rebuild" <- By approved I mean has no choice but let me. Car has been off the road for 7 months now and since i bought a scooter to get too and from work a daily is no longer needed.
  23. Pretty sure when i sent my turbo back previously you updated my compressor wheel. What sort of RWHP will the SS3 max out on with 98?
  24. More details on the SS3 please Stao, can my turbo be converted to this?
