  8. Yeah I've rebuilt the box and customized it so it fits into one corner of the boot. Looks pretty mad and now sounds even better. So i guess my problem was the box being too big. Anyways thanks everyone for all the help!
  9. Do you have the centre part of the dash board (The plastic peice that surrounds the cd player and the aircon vents are attached to it). Ohh is it series 1 or 2?

  13. thanks man The box is sealed
  14. Yeah I've heard of people doing that but never actually thought of doing it myself. Are you supposed to glue or staple the filling to the walls of the box or do you just throw it in and leave it floating around?
  15. Hmmz.. I think it sounds like the dogdy box I built then. Anayways the measurements are (external measurements) 50cm(length)x 36cm(width) x 36cm (depth). Using 3/4 inch mdf
  16. Hey guys, Just wondering, I've got a 12 JL w3d2 running on jaycars 4x100. It sounds ok but I want the base to be more punchy. ATM the base is really deep and drags on a lot. What settings on the amp should I make? Will that solve the problem? Thanks Kslim

  22. My car was broken into once and my head unit was stolen. And I tell ya, it only takes one screw driver to unlock the car and they're in. It's also as easy to break into as VL's. Only way to beat this is take the face off. As for the boot, I just unhooked one of the wires in the boot and it no longer opens from inside. However this makes it very inconvienient so in my case I got an alram with boot release so it aint too bad. Just don't flaunt your audio and with a bit of luck you'll be aaight. NOTE: One thing not to do is, secure your head unit to the din so it takes more than a screw driver to take out. My friend used rivots to secure his head unit, anyways his car was broken into and his headunit was still there except that his whole dash board was smashed. Everything that could be wasted was wasted, including the headunit itself. SO theres something to be aware of!!
  23. All good feedback so far so.... JAYCARS it is then!! thanks guys much appreciated. One other thing, I was reading some specs on the jaycar amps and came across "@ 2 ohms" or "@ 4 ohms"?? Whats that all about? Can anyone explain?? (as you can see i'm still a virgin when it comes down to audio gear..)
