  1. Hi,

Are you the owner of the Group A skyline?

I am currently fitting Group A suspension to my race GTR.

I have a set of the Gibson Uprights (Magnesium) and wheels etc but I am missing a couple of parts.

If you have some pictures of the front suspension I would really appreciate having a look and it would help me out a lot.

I am in New Zealand and my e...

  2. Both mine. The GTR is the 91 Bathurst winner. Shortly to undergo change to those colours. The photo is a bit small but that is Fred Gibson with the GTR
  3. Thanks for you reply Jetwreck. I didn't think you meant any harm with the comment but I thought I needed to correct it because continued comment tends to create its own truth. I know the person that is probably spreading the rumours in the first place. Unfortunately they do not have the courage to speak to me face to face. On another note is the new Nissan Group A face the son of a famous touring car driver in an HR31. After a long wait the Murray Carter DR30 is back from the panel/paint shop now in beautiful black. Won't be long before it is finished. First outing probably Phillip Island historic
  4. Jetwreck you are wrong about the BMW M3 driven by Seton. It is not a DTM spec car. Please tell me what is DTM spec about it and not Group A. The car has never run in the DTM and has never been DTM spec. It has always run Group A. Its history is : Built by Schnitzer BMW in 1989 to race in the Italian Group A Touring Car Championship (CIVT). Driven regularly by Pirro. Winner of the 1989 Wellington 500 Group A race. (Pirro and Ravaglia) Sold to Charles Kwan of Hong Kong in 1990. 1990 Macau GP Guia race, Group A (Kwan) 1991 Macau GP Guia race, Group A clas (Kwan) 1991 Macau GP Macau Cup race Group A (Kwan) 1992 Macau GP Guia race, Group A class (Kwan) 1992 Macau GP Macau Cup race, Group A , winner, (Kwan) 1993 Macau GP Macau Cup race, Group A, winner (Kwan) SE Asia continued Group A into 1993. Japanese Group A TCC In 1991 and 1992 Kwan raced the car in Sport Evo spec with 2.5l engine and aero pack as homologated for Group A. The car has had since 2001 a Group A FIA Historic Technical Passport I have verified this history by speaking with Charles Lamm of Schnitzer and Charles Kwan. I have travelled to Hong Kong and Macau to specifically research the history of the car. The car is in the same spec now as 1991 and 1992 except that it now has Speedline wheels which were available in 1992 and used in touring car racing in 1992. I have had the car inspected twice by CAMS eligibility officers, the second time because of uninformed gossip . Frank Lowndes has looked at the specs in detail. Apart from the paint scheme I have not changed one single thing on the car since Dubois debuted it at Muscle Car Masters in September 2008 and Seton first drove it at Phillip Island in March 2009. It is the same now as it was then. It has the Sport Evo Aero pack and 2.5 l engine as it ran with in Group A in 91 and 92. It is now in its 92 Macau GP colour scheme. It has not been banned nor is about to be. After the second recent CAMS inspection it has been granted a Group A Certificate of Description and historic Group A logbook. The car will be at MCM in September 2010, again driven by Seton. Unfortunately uninformed comments unfairly reflect on both the car and owner...me.
  5. That probably good enough gtrtech, I assume it does not have the round "Stack" gauge on the left hand side of the dash behind the steering column
  6. gtrtech do you have a photo of the dash of the Fox car, behind the steering wheel
  7. I believe it is the No. 1 car, the car that won Bathurst in 1991
  8. Perfect gtrtech. Roy I will check out their website if they have one Thanks boys
  9. There sure has been a lot of speculation about chassis #1 and #2, understandably so given the elapse of time. Gavin chassis #1 was the car destroyed by Skaife at the 1990 AGP. That was reported at the time and can be proved by way of photos. I have the the car that went to Thailand. It has chassis plate #2 on it. Fred Gibson has seen photos of the car and ID'ed it as a GMS car. I have the paperwork showing it was chassis #2 that went to Thailand. There is no doubt GMS sent its people to Asia to maintain the car and crew the team during some races. In fact there was an initial agreement that no one else was to work on the car (that is the mechanical/ engineering part ). I have some of the paperwork in relation to that. I will be in a position shortly to set out the car's full Australian race history and results which I think are stunning. I just have a number of photos to source and results to collate. There will be a good argument as to whether it is the most successful Australian Group A car. Does anyone have a photo of the rear window of the Fox car as it is now. If you could post that it would be helpful
  10. V-SPEC-33, Any chance you or other members might have any shots of the rear window area of the Fox car as it is in the museum. Before anyone asks I am most embarrassed to say that the GMS doco is going nowhere, but it is not forgotten.
  11. The doco is coming along very slowly. Unfortunately work intervenes. Material is still being collected The Group A car will be restored to the '91 livery and its rebuild will be in the doco. Fred Gibson wants to see the car. Hopefully that will be in March. The plan has been to let him see it before restoration and get that on the video also. The previous owner of the car thought it was the Bathurst winner. Another forum refers to Issue 3 of Motor Racing Australia where a journalist asks Gibbo why he sold the Bathurst winning the car overseas. He said something like " it was just a car" Others say the R32 in the Fox collection is the '91 Bathurst winning car How do you prove it one way or another?
  12. Some more photos Asian TCC Spare GMS engine
