  1. hi i had a post about removing the head to check but i thought ide ask u what your thoughts are. just so u know what happened, some water got under my spark plugs into my engine and when i took out the 4th spark plug the little lip at the bottom was not on it so im guessing it went into the engine. (not sure if it went in when i took it out or its been like that for a while) but im guessing it just happened cause up intil that happened the car drove fine when i turn the car on i can hear a noise around the 3rd or 4th piston sounds like its in the rocketcover area or possibly the injectors? also the car idles fine but when i drive it around the block as soon as i put my foot down i lose basically all power and it sounds like a wrx engine and it struggles hard (this is with a new spark plug in replace of the faulty 1) would that noise most likely be the injectors with water stuck in them or do u think water going into where the spark plug sits wouldnt get over to the injectors? or would the valves be broken from that spark plug or do u think a piston cause i have an old rb25 engine out the back and i could just switch the parts over cause it sux just having my car sitting there not being able to drive it >.<
  2. im not going to since adriano posted I would do a comp test first to see if anything is damaged. I cant imagine you could hear a spark plug tip rattling around in your cylinder. If it came off in your motor it would have melted off so either the damage is done, or it has come out the exhaust. A comp test will tell you if it has damaged the valves/bores. If the comp is good, i would keep driving it.
  3. yeah ill try that tomorrow but the last time i started it to show someone i knew it wasnt bouncing around in there so im a bit worried its gone somewhere else cause u can slightly hear it sometimes
  4. there is nothing wrong with the head never had trouble, he just said when ever u take a alloy head off a car it always needs to be milled so yeah is he talking rubbish to get me scared and take it to him
  5. nah its kool man, to cut a long story short... bottom of spark plug is in my engine cause had a misfire and found out was the plug so i took it out and bottom wasnt on it... fixed problem and i can hear it in the engine jumping around. so yeah cant drive untill its done
  6. i was told by this mechanic when i take the head off before i put it back on it has to get milled otherwise when i bolt it back on it wont fit the same and will leak out. is he talking crap to try and get the job?
  7. i have never opened an engine but ive done... suspsension brakes turbo installs changed engines in my car and more so im more then sure i can do it...?
  8. i have a garret gt30 bb turbo. i will be upgrading that... i want as much power as i can get but keep it a street car looking to run low - mid 11's even lower if possible. but i want to know do u recommened changing part of my block or changing the head?
  9. i have a n rb25 and ill be adding forged conrods and pistons larger injectors external wastegate new cam gears microtec lt-12 ecu justjap FMIC 3" piping turbo back 3" high flow exhaust fuel pump and uno just basically all other little things but i was thinking should i change the block to an rb30? cause ive heard of people talking about things like that cause i dont want to be stuck with a 2.5L if all i need to do is grab a few things from an rb30... tell me what u recommened i do here btw its a r33 gts+t
  10. yeah dont have a airgun >.< but thanks also will i need a new headgasket and is there a certain way i have to tighten the bolts back up and or certain strength?
  11. hey i have a socket set and i have ur normal tools. shifters spanners and screw drivers... i looked under the rocketcovers and i notice there are allenkey bolts for the head... can someone tell me what size these are so i can go buy it and any other tool that i might need in the process of getting the head of the rb25

  13. here's mine ive recently just thrown in the front mount core on it cause i hated the look of mesh with a radiator and a horn sitting behind the front bar... plus i have everything needed to turbo the car in december changing all internals to forged ect so no point buying a rb25det to just change the internals
  14. Sh#t didnt realise the piston could get that close to hit a spark plug?!?! should i ring them and check that its the right size plug for a non turbo engine

  17. oh i forgot to say when i had it dyno'd they took out my fuel filter, it must have been that old the filter broke off its casing and all the stuff in it must have went through into the injectors
  18. hi i bought an engine and put it in from SSS automotive and i didnt know u should put ur old injectors in the new engine or get the new 1's cleaned since they would have stuff dried out in them. nehow i was told the old petrol has dried up and now since they have had new fuel in them the old stuff went sticky and blocked them neways i got a dyno and they told me my injectors are playing up and need cleaning... so i was thinking im taking the head of my car tomorrow and i wanted to know is there some way i can clean my injectors when i take them out at home, cause it would save alot of money??
  19. hey man thanks for the info... its not turbo atm but that doesnt matter... when i turned the car on i didnt hear nething but when i drove up the street i heard it hitting the top of my engine... so i turned around and went home but on the way back that noise went away so where do u think it would most likely be as i will look at it tomorrow?

  21. i gave it to autobarn to throw out when i got a new 1 but this is a pick of what happened... the plug was normal just a bit oily since the black rb25 cover never sat properly
  22. im not sure on the gap size i just asked the for plugs from autobarn and i found out the plugs are... " NGK IRIDIUM ix " if the gap is to big or small could it cause a problem like this? cause maybe they gave me turbo plugs.
  23. yes the rubber on the side of the centre platic plate had been warn off and there was water down there so i got a compresser and blew it out the best i could...before changing the plug so wat could be happening there? will it ever be fixed by driving it?
  24. Hi my car is non turbo but this is where eveyone read... Turbo or not no different here i was getting a huge misfire on the way home and the car almost stalled when i pulled up... i done the trick where u unplug the coilpacks 1 at a time while car was running to see whats working... 4th was not doing nething... pulled the spark plug out and the bottom of it where is sparks has broken off into my engine (wtf) it was a NGK INGNITION plug and only maybe 6 months old so (wtf)??? nehow i thought its stuffing up ill degrease and sray clean my engine... let the car dry for a day/night before testing it out with the new spark plug, it got better for a tiny bit say 1km up the road and then bam... it started again i put my foot down and it sounds like a really freakish rotary noise does not sound healthy at all. but then at times it goes away for a second... any ideas on what it might be... my injectors needed to be cleaned i was told by a dude that dyno'd my car a while ago... but what im most concerned of is that bit of metal from the spark plug that was in the engine when i turned the car on i heard it and it went away?!?!?! where could it have gone would it be sitting in my sump? im know im in a f$%kd up position but please just write back helpfull information... on the misfire and where that metal could have gone to thanks.... P.S. please dont just tell me to goto a mechanic, as it would be obvious... ide like to fix the problem myself
  25. here's my ride.. after some new wheels, anyone know a good 5 spoke racing wheel with deep dish at the rear? and im not sure on what colour to get to suit the maroon?!?!? ideas are good
