So what's the issue with the car this week?
-
Try Lionel Otto instruments, last time I used them they were just off Evans Rd Salisbury. Ive fixed a heap of R33 clusters including 2 of my own, usually theres a few bad solders to clean up and they work good as new afterwards.

Going overseas soon, need to get rid of them. $650. -
I pulled them off my R33. They are in decent condition, 2 of them have minor gutter rash. Pearl white in colour. I think they are AVS "5's" but not 100% sure on the model. All 4 rims have some shitty bald tyres fitted to them. 235.45R17 and 255.40R17. I can take tyres off rims if someone wants them stripped. I could even fit tyres to them if someone has some good ones. Located in West End, Brisbane. I saw a nice set the same on eBay for $989 the other day. I think $750ono is reasonable. Call Nick on 0415 859 444 to check them out. Pickup only. I wont post, they dont fit in an envelope.

So would there be any issues in using an RB30 pump on a mild RB25? (cooler, exhaust, boost)

Fuel Pressure + Hunting Idle Issues
TerribleOne replied to big fat paulie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Try re soldering the joints in the AFM and cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner, my old R33 had similar symptoms and doing that got it running sweet. Also o2 sensor like the guy above me said, easy to replace and cheap too. Probably worth doing it regardless. -
Yeah how so? Are they struggling at higher boost levels? I'd be interested to find out. I really want to keep the engine bay looking standard. Id be prepared to sacrifice a little bit of power if it meant keeping an internal gate turbo on the stock manifold. But then again if it's going to be really shit I could just get an external gated one and just try to make it look neat.

I'm looking for a replacement for my S2 RB25, I've read through this thread but couldnt find a concrete answer, the range of Kandos seems to be a bit tricky. Would something like this (TD06SL2-20g) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Turbocharger-RB20DET-RB25DET-2-4-Cover-8cm-T3-V-Band-TD06SL2-20G-/290649134040?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43ac09d3d8#ht_2643wt_922 be ok for a mild setup on my 25? I want an internal gate that will fit on the standard exhaust manifold. Looking for around 250-270rwkw. Would it be alright or am I way off? I've got a FMIC and exhaust currently but I've got a z32 AFM, injectors, PFC and upgraded in tank pump waiting to be fitted.

My RB25 has the same problem, has oil in the coolant but it runs fine. Any ideas before I go ripping the head off?

(Bris) R34 Turbo With Op6 Housing
TerribleOne replied to TerribleOne's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
$300? Need it gone! -
Hey guys I got a standard turbo off an R34, the turbo came off a friends wreck about a year ago. There appears to be minimal shaft play (normal bush turbo play), no oil in exhaust housing etc. Seems to be in decent condition. I have never used this turbo. Comes with wategate actuator and 90 degree bend off compressor housing. Has OP6 rear housing so ready for a high flow. Anyone interested is welcome to come have a look at the turbo. Looking for $400 ONO. PM me or text 0415 859 444 Located in West End during work hours or Wishart after hours.

I had a similar thing happen to mine so I pulled the cluster out and then pulled the speedo out, very carefully re soldered every joint and never had the problem again.

I had 2 yellow jackets on my R33 fail within a week but they replaced them no worries. I didnt have a problem after that. Cant complain about the service.

The Wurth stuff is great, it's called Silicone 250 if I remember. Only thing is its way too expensive when compared to other brands. 3Bond is good stuff too, had to use it on my copper head gasket to make it seal properly. Never had a problem after that!

I had the exact symptoms with the huge loss of power at wide open throttle and hunting idle. I removed the AFM and resoldered the joints and it made it better for a couple months so I got another AFM and it was sweet for a few months. The last couple weeks the idle has been hunting so I'm thinking this AFM may be rooted too, or the idle speed controller may need to be cleaned out.
