Hey Dean did you leave about 12:30 or so? , I saw a car the same as yours leaving as I was coming in (just past the canteen), ....wasnt sure if it was u?.. I was in my black spec II with g/f in the passenger side. I saw your car there Maxx , and I saw Nightcrawler leaving.. only stayed about 30 mins as the weather was wrong. Oh yeah and saw some 4x4's driving on the salt lake next door ...was pretty cool.

Howdy all, I'm just after some info on Nitro cars and what types you guys have (ed Andrew etc...) - What is the best brand - How much do they cost - What is the maintence required - Any Website's/Forums etc around that you go to for info - Best shops to buy from in Adelaide Also what scale do you use? I heard something about the RS4 , its 4wd and u can get with a GTR shell etc.. can't remember the brand. It is something I think would be great fun to do , and even something we could organise as an event in SAU?.. I dunno. Rob

Sweet! , I doubt I will make the Breaky as g/f wont want to get up that early , but will def be at the event ... its looking good! Bring on the drift. I saw on the JMS list that someone is drifting a VN rofl.. anyone taking bids on how long it will last before something breaks? Can we get a firm meeting time, meeting place, and how much it will cost and who is to bring what for this BBQ? Its just there are numerous threads going and I still dont have a clear idea on all the above.

And do you know what really sucks, they are under 18 so wont be prosecuted as adults... and now some family has the trauma of seeing there daughter in hospital and all she was doing was going home from a hard day at work. I just dont get people these days, the world is just insane these days.

Australia is such an old fart country , i mean look at all the cooking version models they bring out in Australia instead of the good models. Unfortunately this is not likely to change anytime soon if ever, Australia is just to small and the police are to bored, so for something to fill their doughnut breaks they come and pick on us. Also doesnt help that residents are all old farts, and if u make a bit of noice you may interupt there viewing of All Saints or Blue heelers ...... heaven forbid!!!! Makes u feel like moving to Japan , except im told things are uba expensive and the food stinks .. but still worth it to be able to go to a street drift event "any" time of the week... yes any night of the week!.. pretty cool huh.

Howdy Shannon, There are 3 components that need to be changed when you do the service ....the belt, idler and i cant remember the other one (my dad was an engine builder until a few months ago when he retired , he told me, but i forgot lol) The parts are pretty damn cheap, the biggest cost is the labour time involved ... i have been quoted about $450 - $500 from some places , and atleast twice that from other places.. it all depends on where you go as some places charge an arm and a leg "because they can" , and in the process rip young people off with high performance imports... so just be careful. Some Soarers have height adjustable Airbag sus (V8 Model only I think) , but I dont think its something that is adjustable in a second , i think it takes a few minutes to adjust it.

How much you willing to go under the RRP? Why are you selling & can you show receipts that you brought the phone?

It may cost 18 - 19k to import a Spec II , but its not going to be the best example Plus then you can add on the 3-4k compliance cost for a new RAWS compliance, and then add another 6-700 bucks for new tyres that are not usually included in the compliance cost... plus then you can pay for the 12 months rego that is also not included Its all starting to add up hey. So 25k for a nice clean example sounds about right to me, expect these prices to go up due for example : In SA there used to be 80 Importers that had a licence to do compliance under the old system, now under RAWS there is going to be just 5 in SA... simular trend in other states... now you think the prices are not going to go up??

Spoke to Famous today, they couldnt beat Just Cars quote of $1900 a year.. which is rather surprising. Basically I was 24 , rating 2 , 1 accident (write off) when i took up my policy with Just Cars for that price. Now im 25 , will be rating 1 in a few months and live out in the country , but they couldnt beat $1900... what the. ps I live in SA.
