  1. Like I said though, Keith custom built this one to my launch specs, not street use. That's what I wanted at that time, but if I had said make it soft and easy for the street, he would have. He really knows his stuff. So please don't think he only builds clutches for launching, he quizzed me for half an hour before he made his final recommendation, now that stock GTR is doing split times similar to my Formula Holden which can get from 0 to 100 in 2.7 seconds and only weights 600kg.
  2. That is one thing I love most about the ACT forums... we don't have the forum nazi's on our butts for trivial things. I've been pulled up for some of the most pettiest things you can imagine in another (state) forum, so I spend very little time there now. Thanks Shell... you're a legend and we appreciate your common sense approach. ACT forum is the BEST!!!
  3. Before you decide on a clutch, speak to Keith at KB Clutch Engineering at Penrith on (02) 4732 1692. There are others on this forum who I have also directed his way and they too think he's brilliant. He knew I was looking for a good launching clutch for the GTR and my concerns with my wanting to ensure the clutch was the weakest link in my drive train. He agreed and basically told me that the only thing a twin/triple clutch will give me over one he would custom build for me was 'bragging rights at the pub'. He then proceeded to build me a spectacular launching (brass button) clutch for under $500... and those who have seen her launch at the hillclimb will know what I'm talking about. This is at the same time that some local businesses were trying to talk me into a $2300 clutch!!! He will build it according to the way you want to drive it and won't rip you off. He also rang us while we were putting it in and gave us some tips. I'm pretty sure that he also does the work there if you don't want to put it in yourself. The Evo people also use Keith for their race clutches... just ask Martin Vitaris. If nothing else, just talk to Keith before you decide. He's a very genuine person to deal with.
  4. I'm jealous, we need more Skyline owners in ACT so we can have a cruise this big http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=aHmcUZwYzcE
  5. I watched a game of Slamball at the club this week (I think it was Fox) and it was great to watch. I would like to see more of it, especially the faceoffs where they smash their opponent into the hoop board (Im certain there is a correct word for that board, but I'm a netballer and don't know much about basketball) http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=k4DX4re0AEw
  6. It's an awesome forum it was a brudder from anudder forum who pressed ya buttons, not us Welcome back

  13. Seems its not the first time that bayside blue 34 has been giving a fair bit of right foot at Erindale.
  14. I wish I could say the same for the drinks LOL Using our small profit margin, after ice, we made just over 14 cans sold for $14 Cost 55c each = $7.70 $14 - "$7.70 = $6.30 $6.30 - Ice $4 = a profit of $2.30 for kitty. Prolly should have said BYO drinks, but it stopped Steadyeddy from doing embarrasing things in public.
  15. Noooo... he would never do that! He just forgot to take his medication
  16. CTP Greenslips are included in your ACT rego. Compulsory Third Party (CTP) is insurance for third party INJURY ONLY, not to be confused with damage to vehicles, thats why you always hear people being pinged for being both "unregistered and uninsured". They don't mean the person wasn't insured for damage, because that type of insurance is not compulsory - I often see people get confused in this area. Many years ago they deregulated greenslips in NSW and therefore made it more competive and brought registration costs down. One example is the F250, ACT rego is over $3,000, in NSW its $700 (inc greenslip). Those who register in ACT won't need to worry, its already fixed price and included in your ACT Rego and as Frink said, appears to be underwritten by NRMA.
  17. Awesome... cya out at the hillclimb on 8th February
  18. Yes, thats true for those who garage in ACT - This info is for our members who garage in NSW i.e. couple of my business vehicles, Reece, Pat, Anthony (Zenith), Donnan, Jayce etc
  19. Was a great day James - Where did you get those photos of Mick from? He really needs to get more sun. Did you take those action shots?
  20. AON - Call their Paramatta Office on 9683 0900, they will ask for your contact details and phone you back (some sooner than others). Consensus is that they are significantly cheaper (some say up to half price). For me the saving was minimal, but still worth the phone call.
