  1. Unfortunately, there's no single club that does a lot of track days, it seems you have to be involved in many clubs to get the full benefits of whats going on in the area. I'll sometimes look at the Wakie calendar and contact clubs holding different events there and see how they are going for numbers, quite often they will happily let you join in on their events which can be a lot of fun. SDMA hold a hillclimb almost every month and have been instrumental in getting me involved in motorsports thanks to their support AutoSports hold a wakie day 2-3 times a year and don't require club membership Thornleigh Car Club hold a supersprint at Wakie each year and invite SDMA so you don't have to be a member - another great day to be had MG Car Club hold motorkhanas etc and also invite SDMA SAU hold some fab events, entry is cheaper if you are a member and makes it well worth your while joining If you're really serious about your racing, look at www.irace.net, they are putting on a series of approx 5+ full on grid start circuit races next year using quite a few different tracks through Vic, NSW and Qld which are televised and a lot of fun. I was a member of NSCC for a year, but didn't get to do anything with them, so can't comment on their events.
  2. If you are a financial member of SAU, SDMA will accept that as a CAMS affiliated club, but you will still need a day licence, if you're not a member of another CAMS affiliated club, you may have to join SDMA for a year. You will need to bring your SAU licence on the day if you're going to do that. Phone Barbara or Terry Bennett (before 9am and after 5:30pm) (H) 02 6288 7207 (M) 0412 808 134 or Email: [email protected] if you have any technical questions re: membership, categories etc.

  4. you can either shape a bracket to go from your drivers seat front mounts and mount the extinguisher to the brackets or go straight into the floor through the carpet.
  5. Entry Forms and Supp Regs work great for me, they've upgraded them so you can tab between the fields which is a nice touch. I've added them here, see if that helps, if it doesn't, go to another computer and try from there, I imagine there is something wrong with your pdf reader version/patches/dll's or something to that effect. 6. my eyesight isn't THAT good
  7. Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story... you were scared... oh and you were alone!!
  8. More than one person can use the helmet and tape, there's only one on the track at a time. So get your names in Who else has entered?
  9. I heard you aren't working Sundays as of next year... so we expect to see ya lotsa times next year
  10. You can either deposit all by Wednesday and fill forms on the day, or pay entries only and let them know when you email the entry forms (copy/paste deposit details in email) that you will be obtaining a CAMS licence and day club membership on the day. Print and sign you entry forms and take them with you to hand over in the morning (they have to have original forms with signature). But you must have your entry forms emailed to them by closing date to run. Everyone: Anyone who would like to do this, but are feeling a bit uneasy and would like some support, please send me a PM and I'll give you a call and help where I can, because while it does feel a bit daunting at first, it really is a lot of fun and the club is very supportive. Its affordable, its not too hard on your car (no different to any short bursts of spirited driving you may have done). Don't forget your fire extinguisher, approved helmet (no obvious damage to helmet), standard seat belts okay but must be secure and work properly (not too frayed etc), check your steering wheel play is okay (not too wild). Some gaff tape over your positive battery terminal (if it doesn't already have a cover... another 5 second job) I'll have some blue tape if you want to put a blue triangle on (battery location) on the day (5 second job). Tyres can have some wear, but not completely bald (not as strict as rego) I have a helmet you can borrow if you need. I'm here, I'm happy to help, so please ask questions if you need. You won't know what you're missing unless you try it. Just DO IT!!!
  11. comment on No. 1 I would like to see a mock up with the Skyline in solid white (with or without a red outline), leaving ACT as red and again with ACT as white. In saying that, I may still stick with the original, but would still like to see some mock ups before deciding. My reasoning is that I would like the banner to be clear from a distance. To be honest, I like them all, but in particular like the tacho image.
  12. Welcome to the family Craig and Kyle, great to see new members Oh and in case you don't know yet, I'm mum around here LOL and being a typical mum, I luv em all, even James!!!
  13. Well... Aza didn't come and say hi and I don't know aza's race car Sad day for me, I couldn't run, the track is NOT for my car, dragged its arse the whole way around, I don't know if I still have a belly or not LOL will have to check it this week. Slowed right down for the pinch, tried accelerating up the pinch to stop my nose from biting in, but could not make the corner at the top, clipped my wing on the gutter trying to get around, almost stand still through the chicanes and bellied the rest of the way up the track, okay most of the track then LOL. I decided not to damage my car before my big race this weekend at Oran Park (www.irace.net.au) So disappointing, but feel it would have been more disappointing wearing off all the ply on the bottom of my car and losing my nose. I really need a good fibreglasser to do some molds for me, I'm paranoid about my panels until I do. How did you go Aza? What were you driving? Cheers Michele
  14. The other parties aren't going to take any notice... until they see how many supporters the Australian Motorists Party have, then hopefully they'll start tallying it all up. We really do need a voice, so Motorists Party has my vote.
